there is no problem in stop and go traffic... i have managed to get the temp up past normal under 70 but that was going fast with alot of stop and go with quick acceleration. I will check the hoses again and for bubbles but im not losing any water. Does 4k at 80 not sound high to anyone else?

I have replaced the fluid since because i checked the lower hose coming out of the radiator. the fluid levels are good. I dont think it has ever gone into the red, i usually make sure to flip on the heater before it gets to that. I havent taken it out to check the flip on flip off heater test.

Thanks for your suggestions but i have gotten past the easier parts of this problem.

So since my move to the mainland i have been doing a bit more fast driving (hawaii isnt really good for that). Hard to tell when the problem really surfaced though. When driving down over 70mph for 15+ minutes in the florida heat my engine will start to run hot. the needle sneaks up to the red, i put on the heater and the needle goes back to its home. At first i thought this was a cooling problem but the engine is running at 4k's around 80... which seems kinda high to me.

It only operates like this in the high speeds and if the air outside is 85+.
I replaced the radiator about 18 months ago along with the pump and most of the hoses.
The fan is kicking on.
The thermostat has been replaced.
And no-one here including our mechanic... can figure it out.

Sorry so long but I'm hoping one of you guys may have run up on a problem like this and can help me find out what the hell is wrong with my baby frown.gif .

thanx in advance for all your help

dammit i just thought about bleeding the other day... but i still dont see why I cant move out of the neutral position... if anything it should just grind right?? Im not as automotively inclined as i would like to be and even more unfortunate i dont have the facilities to do any of this work myself. I think im gonna take it to a place on base and see if they think the same. Thanx for all the help... Looks like i will be walking funny for a few months... THANKS TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!!

I was having trouble with my clutch a few months back... every now and then it wouldnt shift properly and had to be forced. I figured the clutch needed to be replaced, it has 110k+ miles on it and just seemed to make sense. In order to avoid any trouble i figured i would take it to Toyota and pay the extra money to have it done right. They replaced my master and slave 900 and when i get it back it wont even shift... No grinding... it just wont got into different gears. Its fickle, cause sometimes if i work through the gears before i turn it on once i get going it will be ok and then later give out. I take it back they say i need a new Clutch Cable (still not sure what that is), and that i have a couple oil leaks that caused the cable to deteriorate. Ok i think i needed to fix the leak anyway so 1300 dollars later the leak is fixed and cable replaced. They said during the test drive that my clutch was slipping but when i went with the guy to take it around the block i didnt notice anything. So i take it home, only to have a new problem. After i leave first and stop again it wont come out of neutral, So at every stop sign i have to turn off the engine and start back up in first gear. Then it wont down shift of shift properly either. The shifter just moves back in forth in the neutral zone and wont go into gear. Just wanted to know if you guys think this is kinda fishy (or had any ideas as to what the problem is)... If replacing the clutch will fix this then i'll gladly lay down the 900 they're saying it will take but I'm worried that another problem will "pop up" and my car will never be fixed. frown.gif

Please Help!!!

I read the install how to but it doesnt say anything about the motor. the reason i am replacing the antenna is bc it grinds going up and wont go down unless you give it a little push. There is a how to on disconnecting the motor but that requires that the antenna will be pretty much useless seeing as you connect your antenna wire to another wire in the car. Is there a way for me to stop the motor without making this already bought and ready to instally antenna more than just aesthetic.

I have a bit of a problem. Theres a leak somewhere in my cooling system and seeing as i live on base, and lack the tools, facilities, and knowledge to fix it myself I am forced to have someone else fix my car. The toyota dealership cant see me until over a month from now. A time during which i will be in the middle of the ocean. So the question... where can i go to get my car fixed where i wont "get screwed" I initially had my car looked at by WALLY HO'S GARAGE AND DINER but he wanted to charge me 1900 dollars to replace my radiator, water pump, and hoses. 700 dollars worth of parts...thats alot of labor.

PLEASE HELP confused.gif

I go on vacation and when i get back my antenna makes this grinding sound every time i put it up. The motor runs even though the antenna's all the way up. Then when i turn the car off the motor runs for the tnna to come down but unless i give it a little touch it stays stuck in the up position. Then all of a sudden i find this ebay item that i have NEVER seen.

has ne1 had this problem....do i have to buy this or is there another easier way to fix this problem??

thanx in advance

After digging through old posts ive come up with several options and need help choosing.

first what brand are the irotors.com? cause all they say are that they are simply rotors.

Does Cyberauto.com offer cad plating??

and lastly what do you guys think of these??
