Hey there guys its been awhile...everything's been going great with my build and she still runs like a top. With Ben upgrading his cams and turbo, I've been thinking a lot about an idea That popped in my mind long ago...

Now I know that twin turbos on the 3sgte is pretty useless. But what about adding a supercharger to spool the turbo? I myself have no idea if this will work and the only reason I'm entertaining this idea is because Ben and Brian didnt just shove it off when I asked them about it, which makes me think it might be doable and somewhat worth it?

If there's no way in hell this could happen lemme hear it...but I'm pretty sure Alex still has his old SC layin around and I would hate for that to go to waste. What's up guys am I just dreaming?

Possibly Box but doubtful lol. Its a year newer and looks to be in better condition though than my old one; so maybe it runs better?

Anyway, I Had a machine shop make up a 1/2 steel spacer for my drivers side axle and the guy did an absolute perfect job. It bolted right up and now the car is back to 100%( give or take a few things). Now I just need to check the fluid everyday until Im convinced it's right. And look into some type of LSD.

yea everything bolted up the same. Could be in my head i suppose. Maybe its just me getting used to the car and feeling more confident about getting closer to redline as I have been. My dad, on a test drive told me to stay through the gears longer as Im not benefiting from all the power the engine actually has.

new e153 is in! It was a successful swap and took me about a week longer than it should have as I did everything myself. I am pretty proud of that but there was some points where I thought I was gonna kick my fender in, in anger. Stuck to it though, like you guys would have done and made it happen.

The new transmission does feel a lot better and IDK if its just me but I feel like I can go through the gears a lot longer.

Smaay Im using camry outers and mr2 inners. My passenger side is fine but my driver side axle does pop out when i take hard turns. It leaked quite a bit of oil a couple days ago at the axle when it popped out so I have not driven until my spacer is made up (should be tomorrow). Anyway, my snap ring does pop in so thats not my problem I don't think. It's weird because usually the passenger side is too short. Hopefully this 1/2 spacer will solve my problem because my engine isn't even broken in yet lol.

No way in hell I would ever sell my car! Even if the engine blew! New transmission is in and is running like a beast. I am down for a day or two getting my axles squared away tho! Just clearing things up

K great thanks....also maybe this is a stupid question but if you need the mr2 inner...how are you cutting it up? I thought I used the left over parts to make it the 1/2 inch spacer

What did you use to cut the hard steel? I took the axle to a machine shop and he couldn't cut it

received the new transmission! Its a 2000 solara v6 for 330 bucks! Not a bad deal with a 30 day warranty. Tomorrow I will get to it and hopefully get er done in one day. Wish me luck fellas! I just want to go fast again!

I just hope to not repeat what happened to the other transmission. If it did seize because of loss of fluid, Im not sure how it could of happened; unless when the axle slipped out, I lost a bunch of oil. Or if my axles aren't the correct length, Maybe i slowly lost oil out of the axle shafts. IDK! The thing is, there is no evidence of an oil leakage as my axles are clean as well as under the car. And no gear oil smell what so ever.

The transmission will cost close to 2 grand to rebuild so thats a big N O on that one. Been looking for an e153 from a solara or camry and stumbled across one for 330 bucks from LKQ. Its from a 2000 solara v6 with like 150k miles on it. I swear I must be the only one with this bad of luck. It always seems to happen at the worst times too. I really hate buying used parts now.

well surprisingly, it didn't look like a lot of fluid came out. However I put like 4 quarts of oil in or however much it called for and I have not seen a single drop of oil leak out.

BAD NEWS UPDATE frown.gif

Well while driving on the highway in heavy rain going about 45mph my transmission **** the bed frown.gif.

I heard a loud drop and pulled over. Drove about a mile to shelter and everything looked good. I figured I had just hit a big bump and i freaked out over nothing, but after another mile it started shaking and eventually locked up.

After towing her home, I put the car up and started it. It sounded like it could have been my axles but after taking them out, the transmission would still make a loud grinding noise when the car is in gear and the clutch let out. The Clutch looks good as well as the pressure plate and flywheel.

I dropped the E153 off at a transmission specialist but I wont know anything until probably thursday, sense tomorrow is a holiday. Man it was driving sooo good, I've been having such a blast! and this happens.

Alright Guys She is up and running like a top! I went to Bens yesterday running no boost and left spinning tires lol. He fixed my boost problem as I connected my synapse wrong. Shes absolutely everything I had in mind and more. After we tightened the couplers down so they'd quite popping off, Its literally hard to go slow! Im only running about 7 psi because Im still breaking in the engine but its a blast for sure. Ill get pictures up soon but I have to head to work.

Man its nice to know all that money, time, and effort paid off. Kinda bittersweet though in some ways.

Well didn't want to update till I was driving it daily...Just waiting for parts and working out all the kinks and little things...Without the guys, everything takes me twice as long having to learn it by trial and error...I really was hoping to be driving by now but power steering was giving me trouble...

What's left is installing PS pulley, connect the rest of the vacuum lines and hook up the gauges...the pulleys gnna be a bitch but tomorrow I finally have the day off...

If anybody is in the process of rebuilding their 3s or has one out of the car, it would be very helpful to me if you could locate the ac idler pulley and post a picture of the hardware that goes with it. It seems that I am going to have to have the washer that goes into the bearing on the engine side made. It kind of looks like a top hat. Please please please guys! I can't even find a picture online let alone for sale. The pulley itself does not come with the hardware.

It's the one that looks like a top hat that fits onto the bearing.
