Yeah I'd just like to dig this post up from the grave and point out that aggressive 'I am better than all of you so I'm always right' posts like the ones kwanz made are what have made me stop visiting the site. Dude I have raced bikes, cars and carts since I was 12 - actually let me complete that list for you.

50 & 100cc carts
125 & 250cc motocross
4 wheel 250cc bikes (banshees)
VL/VK commodores (v8 rwd)
Speed cars, Sprint cars (shared a seat for 1 season)

I don't by any means think this is a big list... but it is a lot bigger than some people here, and I do have real race experience, I'm not some wannabe ricer like you automatically label everyone. Admittedly theres no FWD vehicles on that list... all I've done is take my celi around the local track and watched lots of road and rally races on TV.

I never once said you could drift a FWD. If you look over my earlier posts you will see I was bashing those who said ya could, and said that 'feint-drifting' if that's what you want to call it was the closest to drifting you can get in a FWD - which it is. You need to take your oily little finger out your arse and listen to what others have to say once in a while - you never know it might make you a better person.

So in summary, **** YOU.

I was thinking the same thing (I got nuthin tongue.gif) but when you think that most of the people here are under 20 years old and have celis... well I guess it's fair to say most of them still live at home and with rich families.

You can get maybe 25-50k more miles out of a good aftermarket clutch setup, depending on how you drive. I dunno if you're doing the swap yourself or how long you're keeping the car but considering the labour for clutch work it might be worth upgrading.

The links broken now, but I can't believe they used a NSX! Finding a totalled one would be pretty difficult and those things cost a fortune... not to mention it's probably the best, or at least the most balanced road registerable race car of all time ...

For the love of god, why?

I'm at least half-geek I'm sure, but I do not comprehend why!

You can't feint drift a FWD car, contrary to what Kamix says, so if you wanna learn the art of drift... buy a car that can actually "drift" drift (RWD)... Drifting is like figure skating... Racing is like speed skating... I'd rather race...

Unbalancing the car to swing the rear end out on a FWD car is a proven technique and has been used by FWD rally drivers for decades, end of story. I didn't say it was drifting (hell no), I just said it's the closest to drifting you are going to get with a FWD.

I don't have any video handy, but Tiff Needell (that british chump) did a very good demonstration of this move on Top Gear.

oh, and i misunderstood you on your first point then.
he claims to have cut out a hole to vent the engine, but if you think about it swappers are FORCED to do a FMIC unless they have a GT4 hood or make room for the engine.
so my pt would be the TMIC should be too high for that hood to where it is practically flush with the rest of the hood.

I could for sure be wrong, but I'm almost 100% sure that people have run their 3s' with the stock hood temporarily with no problems. If you look closely, you will see that it is not flush, the IC is still a bit below the hood.

Edit.. So has anyone actually identified what engine it "is"?

lol dude sometimes you are so funny you actually make me laugh biggrin.gif But yeah I hear ya.

QUOTE
.. that paint is in pretty good condition around the cutout... common sense would lead you to belive that if you did cut it out.. which those lines look perfect by the way... that there woud be bare metal etc.. the cuts dont really look repainted and I see no point to not install a $100ish hood scoop after dropping all that cash on a swap but still repaintin the hood where you cut it

I haven't zoomed the pic but you can get a good cut like that by duct/gaffa taping top and bottom and doing a slow wet cut.

Thats a power slide, not a drift, and umm hey hope ya don't kill any families any time soon

It's not even a powerslide it's pulling a handbrakey on gravel and spinning your car.

The only way you can "drift" in a FWD is to unbalance the car by quickly turning the wrong direction to the turn to swing the back out. Real race drivers use this move for hairpins and tight chicanes biggrin.gif

Something I've wanted to do for a long time is cut and bend a fullbody aluminium undertray for downforce.

Don't see that too much.

btw I still like the painted wheels biggrin.gif

Coustoe just a warning... if you get cheap shipping your car will most likely be COMPLETELY STRIPPED... even with expensive shipping containers they usually get stuff stolen, I have friends who import to Australia and there is always something missing like wheels, BOV, shifter, momo wheels etc.

Most of the ****s who work on the docks will tear through that stuff frown.gif

Yea buy the TRD shifter it's nice!

QUOTE
was talking one of my friends from italy. he also owns a gt four. he told me that wrc wing effects top speed about -10 kmph. (because of down force it makes)
is that true?!!!

Probably. Leaving it on might give 5% more drag than taking it off, and that means you would need more power to hit the same top speed.
