well i spent most of today working on it, got the old belt off. there was a bad oil leak so i ordered a cam and crank seal, as well as valve cover gasket. i took the valve cover off though and there is black cooked oil caked everywhere in the head. its burnt go bad the oil is flaky. either someone never did oil changes, or it majorly overheated. either way its not good. ive never seen a engine so dirty from oil. but it does have 240000km on it. i had plans to go turbo with it this summer, but not sure if i will now. maybe do a swap |

im having a crazy hard time finding rear swaybar bushings, the ones that mount it to the frame. It seems no one here in canada stocks them or can get them, except maybe the dealer, and they are 22$ a peice. Has any one found a good replacement that might fit other cars too? Im assuming the rear swaybar is smaller than the front one, kuz i can get front bushings easy. Any help would be great! |

Is it a must to remove the crank pulley to get the timing belt off, or is it possible to change it with the pulley on? Its just a big deal to take it off for me, hard to find a puller and i dont have a good impact. And should i change the idler pulley as well? The car has 240000km. |

ok well i think the light must be on then. I have aftermarket gauge faces and they dont have a spot for the abs or cruise control lights, but the light on the bottom right side of the cluster is on all the time, just doesnt say abs. i check all the bulbs and they all work, so i assume that must be the abs one. ill check the sensor that has the wrapped up wire next, it must be damaged. the last owner did the work on it so im not sure what the deal is. |

well i was working on my celica, changing the struts and noticed it has abs sensors on all the wheels, so i started looking further and the abs motor and valve body is there too. Now i didnt know the car had abs when i bought it, kuz its not working. ive check every fuse and relay that i thought of, and all are fine. i did notice the front sensor wire was taped up, so it may be damaged. is it possible the car has abs, but the sensor is bad and the abs light in the dash is burnt or not there, so it doesnt light up? where is the abs light in the gauge cluster? its a 94 gts. |

hey how fast does the stock celica gt run in the 1/4? will the 5sfe and the 3sgte turbo get me into the low 14's, or will i need forged internals or a 3sgte swap? |

Hello all, Im new to celicas, but i love thier styling and potential for power. I recently bought a black 94 gts hatchback. My last car was a 98 neon that i turbo'd and was running 13's in the 1/4 mile. My goal for this car is to get into the 14 seconds at the 1/4 mile this year, probably with a turbo setup. There is tons of info on here so ill have lots of reading to do before i get there. Ive seen some pretty amazing cars on here already, hope mine will look that good someday. Im not sure how to put pics on here yet, but i do have some on my profile. enjoy James |
