Best picture I’ve taken of it in the last couple of years.

Lost your number few years back. Just sold my 2000 STi Type RA last week and got nostalgic for the old Celica’s again. It’s true, this site pulls us back no matter how long we’re away. Almost 4 years at this point lol

Anyway, turns out we live literal minutes away from each other now. Small world.

It's happening. I'm selling my dream car.

VIN: ST2050005971

-215/45r17 Continental Sport, <10k miles
-TRD Rear Spats and Eurou Sideskirts

-GReddy Electronic Boost Gauge
-Momo Steering Wheel
-Jensen Touchscreen Headunit

* = Modifications I made
(Somewhat outdated build thread link in signature "Cyril")

We already know these are awesome cars so I won't go into talking about the iconic 3SGTE and it's way-ahead-of-its-time W2A intercooler that brings joy to the soul when you dip into boost as the AWD claws itself out of the corners. The full free flowing 3" exhaust really opens up the power band and pulls all the way up to redline and the grip from the Conti's are waayy better than I expected. Doesn't smoke or burn oil; I use Shell Rotella T6. Transmission shifts are precise and crisp. Transmission fluid changed at 83k and rear diff fluid changed at 88k. No cracks in the windshield. It is seriously a solid running car. Really the only downfall is the paint and the JDM asf lowering springs. It cleans up nice but the front bumper is chipping and the clear is faded on the rear quarters. But once you get in and start driving, all you focus on is how ****ing awesome of a car it is. Comes with extras: OEM downpipe, SS downpipe, OBX-R Exhaust, non-Projecter 94 head lights, 94 tail lights.

As far as registering and insuring, I am registered and plated in CO with a clean title and insured with USAA no issues. It passes emissions with the stock downpipe (included in the sale). You can see my before/after inspection sheets on my build thread. Or if you're in a state that doesn't require emissions, you're lucky.

So...why am I selling this beautiful beast? Well, I was made an offer I couldn't refuse on my previously thought non-attainable dream car, an E39 M5. The logistics of owning 4 vehicles AND moving across the US in February is going to be a nightmare so her I am decreasing the size of my stable. Also, where I'm going doesn't have canyons and honestly, this car belongs in the canyons.

Here it is: 12.5k. Anything less and I'm swapping the head/tail lights back to 94. Car is now located in Golden, CO. I am here until about 8 Jan to show/sell.

QUOTE (96graygt4 @ Oct 10, 2018 - 10:02 PM) *
So after a day of driving of course I would get the infamous error 54 code. Cars currently in limp mode and after doing a coolant check and blipping the throttle, the charge cooler pump does not seem to be operating for some reason as coolant isn't being cycled. Does anyone know of any good replacements to the oem one?

I found an overhauled oem replacement from gt4-play.co.uk which I am probably going to go with after I do more tests on the circuits and test the amps of the pump itself. However if anyone knows of any alternatives that are PnP please let me know!

Before jumping into a new pump, have you tried topping off the intercooler. The level sensor is very picky. If that doesn't fix it, then unplug the sensor and bridge the connector to make sure it's not the sensor itself that is broken. Disconnect the battery to clear the code before each try.

The intercooler pump should not be circulating while stopped. The argument for this design is so that the "cooler" coolant in the exchanger will keep cooler and will start circulating when you take off..and maybe extended pump life?

If you've come across these suggestions and tried those things already, then disregard this message.

Now I need to make a day trip down to Cañon City.

I'm trying to get back to Denver or the Springs for my next assignment. I miss Colorado a lot.

QUOTE (slavie @ Jan 29, 2018 - 9:52 AM) *
Thanks for the update. Reading through the thread revived my aspirations for an AWD conversion, so I'll bombard you with a bunch of questions if you will smile.gif

On the GT4 vs GT rear wheel placement: did you end up moving just the wheels 1/2" forward due to reuse of GT arms, or was the diff moved forward as well? Could you have proper placement if you used GT4 control arms, or is there a bigger issue at play? I thought that that chassis were the same dimensions only having different floor plan.
On the GT4 rear mounting SolidWorks files or bending CAM profile - are any of these still around the 6GC community, or have they all been lost?

Also, why didn't you use the SS front suspension?

Finally, if you don't mind me asking, how much did your current actual GT4 set you back? Just trying to get an idea. (feel free to PM me about this one if you'd prefer).

Thanks!

Hey brother, glad it sparked some mechanical drive for ya!

As for the rear wheel placement, I used the GT4 arms. The GT4 arms are the ones that are 1/2" shorter so it pulls the wheels (and entire subframe/diff assembly) more forward. The front 2/3rds or so are the same but the rear is fairly different. Frame rails, floor pan, wheel well location on the body (i think...it's been a few years lol). This thread goes into some details on page 3 and 4. Just Another GT-4 Build Had to do with better subframe mounting locations and driveshaft lengths.

I know for sure I no longer have my SolidWorks files frown.gif They honestly probably wouldn't have helped anyways. The measurements were rough and i never measured the real mounts to correct them. Hanksville might still have the CAM profile..? Like I said, it's been a few years...which makes me sad because it means I'm getting older and I'd really like to stop doing that.....anyways!

No SS front suspension because adds too much complexity. I'm crazy...but not a psychopath lol In fact, my biggest gripe with my ST205 is that suspension. I've gone back and forth ripping it all out to put McP style coilovers and reminding myself I need to keep it OG. But seriously, I don't like that suspension.

Cost of my real one...well, it cost the sale price of this converted Celica plus the price of a non-running 01 Ducati 748 wink.gif Honestly, being so close to 25 years, I think it'd be worth it to hold out on the conversion and spring for a real one. But then again, you won't have the pleasure of driving around in a LHD GT4 lol

I guess I never did close the loop here lol

A high HP MR2 guy ended up buying it. If anyone is around Canon City, CO they might have seen it rolling around. I haven't heard from him the day he drove it away though.

I still have the GT-Four though!

Alright! Back again for another update! I desperately needed suspension, soooo I buy projectors instead! I'll let the pictures do the talking.

OH, WAIT A SECOND!! WHAT ARE THAT?! If you guessed brand new front pipes (B-pipe, PITA-pipe, etc.) then you'd be right!! I was beyond excited to see them pop up on TCB's website. Waited more than a year for these to hit the shelves since my flex section had a heinously annoying leak. Ordered them Monday night, showed up on my doorstep Thursday biggrin.gif Anyways! Great quality piece with damn near perfect fitment between my Berk downpipe and Ti rear. It's mind blowing to finally hear my car with a sorted exhaust!!

Potentially NSFW below!
#stackeddimes #weldporn #gapingholes wink.gif

I dicked around for about 5min trying to take out the OEM in one piece, until I saw that the size of the hole in flex section spanned about 1/4 of the circumference. Gave it the ol' finger and cold worked it until I made 1 = 2.

And I'm still on the hunt for a blue fuel cap door rolleyes.gif Someone please help me not look so damn ricer. Seriously...I'll pay someone to go to a local junkyard that has a baltic blue Celica and take it off for me.....and then you can come to my place and really take it off for me wink.gif Alright I'm done lol

Stay tuned to see what I buy next instead of new suspension!

Thanks again for the projectors! I could only wish every part I buy is packaged as well as you packaged those lights.

Late feedback but I put them on and they look fantastic with the HIDs woot.gif

The E154f is a pretty stout transmission and should be able to handle 500awhp fairly safely (especially if it's more for highway pulls than dragstrip launches with radials banging gears). Few high hp guys over on alltrac.net use it upwards of 6 and 700awhp. It's the center diff and more often axles that tends to fail on high hp applications though. Overall, no need to be too worried about catastrophic trans failure right off the bat.

The rear diff can take a beating as long as it's in decent shape beforehand and you use quality fluid, as I expect you would. thumbsup.gif
