I haven't tried resetting my ecu. I don't notice any smoke when I it happens. Before the tune-up, sometimes when I turned the key, all I would hear was a "click". I'd have to do a couple or few clicks in a row the get the engine started. Ever since the tune-up, the car sometimes struggles to turn on. By running too rich or lean, do you mean the octane of gas being used? I've been on 87 octane. Thanks for the input. I'll probably have the injectors and the MAF checked if resetting the ECU doesn't help. |

I have that same problem with my '94 Celica GT. From a stop, if I try to accelerate, the engine sometimes won't respond right away. So I let off the gas and try to accelerate again and it gets going or it moves after a moment without having to let off the gas. Just a couple days ago I got a tune-up. The spark plugs and wires were replaced. When I got my car back, I noticed that the idling is worse than before. The "jerking" is rougher and I can't accelerate too hard at the beginning or the engine will not respond. I'm forced to press the gas pedal VERY lightly at first so that I can at least get passed 2000rpm and by then the car seems to run just fine until I get to a stop. |
