so basically im moving to Europe next week. My celica needs to go NOW. its a 1994 celica with 100k on the motor (like exactly 100k) and 204k on the body. 5spd the car is originally from Arizona, so it has little rust. The car has a full body kit, side skirts, Front and back bumpers, and comes with original bumpers. New water pump, timing belt....., new front shocks, leather seats, electric windows and doors, sunroof....the list goes on. Needs an alignment BAD, needs back brakes (E- brake barely works but back brakes do), probably needs a new battery, and it needs to be started(i let it sit all winter, now i cant get it to start). So for $650 bucks, this is a really great deal. I need it towed out this week. Im firm on the price. If I cant get it ill use it as a tax write-off. You can call me anytime at 203-815-7433 or email at adam7118@gmail.com. The car is located in shrewsbury Mass. here are some pics

So is there a reason so many people are getting holes in there engine block of their 5 sfe engine? Im starting to think so. This happened to 2 of my engines. Finally I tore apart the bottom end and found out that the number one piston connecting rod was shattered. This happened to me twice, and i am seeing it all over the internet. whats the deal?

Ok this is really weird. That number 1 cylinder is defective I think. Im on my third engine with my celica, and the exact same thing happened. Right behind the alternator the number one cylinder arm snapped and shot through the block. I dont get it.

You may be able to fit your old motor mounts on your new engine. Make sure the original mounts dont interfere with your timing cover/belt or anything else. If its cheaper to do all the work just to get it on the road, than to mess with 1.8, id say go for it.

I believe its a veilside kit from aitracing.com. I think its this one http://www.aitracingbodykits.com/9499-toyo...t-p-133280.html

The front bumper was a real pain in the butt. I primed over bondo spots im sanding down, so those really nasty looking sections will look a lot better when im done.

Any suggestions? Comments? Criticism

the engine rebuild gasket kit is about 250 bucks. comes with every gasket. you will spend about another 300 in new bearings, main and rods, water pump, belts, and piston rings. i have done this on both the 5S and the 7A. i have a really good thread with over 100 pictures on the 7A build. follow that. the 5S is very close.

Thank you very much! what about machine shop costs?

Cause I have 3 engines right now haha
They are all still in the Celica's but 2 are coming out soon

So basically I picked up a full body kit. I was looking for some help to see if anyone can give me the steps about painting it. Help Please!!! P.S THe kit is fiberglass. Side skirts, front and back bumper. My car is like a gunmetal grayish color.

most likely your grounds. Check them all. THe ones i know of are on each side of the struts, the right side connects to the starter bolt, the left side connects to the engine hook. I believe there is one off of the transmission. Or you could just keep throwing random grounds from the body to the engine. otherwise definately check your relays. Thats another strong possibility.
