I would rather grab a junkyard lid with a spoiler already rather than drilling into the factory stuff. Pretty sure there are no indentations or markings.

Yeah I'd like the upgraded system but what's in there sounds good for now. I actually turned down the mids and highs a bit. I'm likely not going through the trouble of swapping HU's. This car is thousands cheaper compared to other ones I find with similar options so mentally I'm stuck on this one. A lot of them have beige interiors lacking cooled seats, this one is black on black. Anyway, I plan on tapping into the factory amp with an LC2i, so that should give me decent options for sound. Compared to the Celica with Alpine speakers and added tweeters, this sounds nice. With the added sub it should be bangin'. Thanks for the background on the system.

You should buy a GS430 or GS460 instead. wink.gif

So I did look at the GS430, because originally I wanted an LS and I thought that might fit the bill. I haven't driven one yet but the specs on paper compared to the 350 don't really impress me, and it's 200lbs heavier. GS460 is too $$. I think I'd like to slap an SC on this one and call it done.

QUOTE (Bitter @ Jan 4, 2021 - 10:13 PM) *
SC400!

Nah, I'd rather have a Supra. I also specifically want a comfortable four-door daily. The only reason I'm considering this is because my dealer got it on trade and they're letting it go fairly cheap since it would have gone to auction. The only other (affordable) cars I'd want are an LS430 or G35S. I'm not impressed by the looks of either anymore after looking at the GS for a while, and they're more expensive anyway. This one has a couple desirable options for me, ventilated seats, power rear shade, and the attractive twisty 18s. Real nice in Florida. No Mark Levinson sound but it seems pretty nice as is and I have the sub and amp from the Celica that I'm itching to throw in. 99% sure I'm going for it.

Thinking about buying a 2008 GS350. Talk me out of it. Keeping the Miata still.

Now that’s a hot hatch. Being a trashy Euro person I have always wanted a GTI. I did learn to drive manual on a GLI, that was nice too.

I looked into those, but then I checked the bushings on my car and they seem to be firm and in good shape. Though I came across these that're supposed to be better than the delrin offerings:

Sure Bob. Just get those or the ones I mentioned. The fact that your car’s bushings feel pliable doesn’t mean anything.

I know right? I had a few moments like that on the dragon where a slower small cc sport bike would let me pass them and then try to keep up through the corners. Probably inexperienced rider but still. It was a bit of a lol moment.

Internet high five.

Though truth be told 15x8 with performance all seasons is probably more than enough for a Miata with stock engine.

Bull****. Traction son. Double the suggested limit in posted turns son. I el-oh-el hard when some ****nut rides up behind my car because I’m “slow” but then I chuck it into the next bend and lose them. It is heeee-larious.

Also, delrin door bushings. Don’t ask, don’t think about it, don’t do that research for a week and consider it thing, just order them and spend the two minutes to slap them in and then thank me. I am serious.

Wtf happened?
Get your lazy asses out there and put flyers on every 6gc you see. Thats how we did it back in the day. Have a meet. Have some giveaways or a contest. This place is the most valuable source of info for the 6th generation Celica on the planet. Are you just going to let it die? Boo hoo no one comes on here anymore...fix it. Donate some money. Somebody do a turbine swap. We used to say "woot" a lot, that seems to motivate people. 348 guests and 1 member. Join, go anonymous, or GTFO!! Jk please stay. woot.gif Am I going to have to buy another celica to fix this place? Because I will! Jk on that as well I have no money. woot.gif The first time I see 100 members online at the same time I will donate an old gt4 hood bit I have in my closet. It is the small rounded one that goes next to the big one. It is silver and needs repainted.
I think it's pretty fricken sad, so many good times here, so much I learned. I will log in every day until you maggots fix this... yeah, prolly not. Ok good talk, rip 6gc.

Anybody figure out how to beat those pesky SRT-4s yet?

Buy it and don’t look back. I threw some Rotella in mine today, have yet to drive it but she usually runs better with fresh dino oil.

Also treated myself to a nice Corsair headset. Lows are a little disappointing, but otherwise the audio is very crisp. Simulated 7.1 is very nice for gaming, I can hear noobs in CSGO doing circles now. Feels built like a Volvo too, and very padded.

Entertaining as Box squared stuff is to read, I miss the technical posts from days of yore. Seems like nobody is doing too much anymore these days. Plus I sold mine and I miss it, so being here makes me miss it. I don’t have **** to post these days beside Miata or Porsche stuff.

Wow, what in jesus tap-dancing christ has been happening here?

I'd like to add that it was suggested to me today to twin-charge my car. I'm not doing it to this one, but down the road somewhere that'd be interesting.

I don’t care if they’re slower, I’d take an SS-III over an ITR any day.

No ****. I had no idea lapping like that was a thing. I also have to redo CPU paste but last time I tried I couldn’t get the danged fan connector loose so I gave up for fear of having to remove the mobo from the case. I hit 70 max and that’s my comfort limit.

I got you beat by about 20mm but who’s counting, it’s how it’s used. wink.gif

That Vega looks nice af. 4590 buddies! I have their R9 280x and I like that brace they’re supplying now, mine does flex and is not perfectly straight as it was new, which to me is likely to uhh...cause problems.

I said wtf the first time I saw the GPU as well, it barely fits in a mid tower.

How did you do the lapping?
