Thanks for your input everyone. Basicaly, if the G6 was sold in 1993, I can use it. From what I can make out searching the net, I think it was sold in Japan in late 93. The launch date in the UK was March 94, and I'd imagine that the US would have had the car in dealers at a similar time to the UK & Europe What I cannot find, is any documentation from the history files, that I could present to the series organisers to prove that the G6 was on sale in 93. As a last resort, I'll have to buy a G6 that is advertised as a 93, and make sure that the date of registration on the vehicle documents is 1993, and present that, although idealy a newer car would be easier to find as a good base. |

The model needs to have been marketed/sold prior to 31/12/93. |

I'm looking to race a G6 in 2010, the series is UK based and for any make & model that was marketed in any country prior to 31/12/93. This model Celica appeals to me due to its relatively high bhp as standard. The problem is, the car is normally listed as having a M.Y between 94>99. I believe the production run was from Sept93 to July99. I have seen G6's advertised for sale that say they are 1993 JDM imports. This however, may not be correct. Can anyone confirm & point me in the direction of documentation, that the Generation 6 Celica was sold in Japan in 1993? I have tried a UK based Celica forum, but as yet no clarification. I look forward to hearing from the experts. Thanks, Eliot |
