Looked at my plugs, 3 of the 4 platinum tips were missing (S&%T). Replaced them with some basic $2.50/plug NGK copper's. It starts right up with no hesitation, but I still need to feather in some throttle for about 30-50 seconds then its fine (only after sitting in cold temps <65F). I didn't check the battery but it hasn't given me any problems lately, OPTIMA FTW. The IAC does sound like a reasonable prognosis after the new plugs and a reasonably o.k. battery. Will work on this weekend. Thanks for the help |

damn, my car just started doing this as well. Happens ONLY when sits overnight in cold weather <65F. Need to feather in some throttle to keep it from stalling when starting in the morning, once it gets over 1K rpm the ecu begins to think, measures ambient temp and stock warm up procedure beings (keeping it above 1k rpm) then warms up and then its fine. Here are the things that are not in a window of 85-100% on the car. 6 year old Optima red top, poor cold start Amperage to begin with, needs new plugs (approx 30k on them), 155K miles on the engine. Its a 7afe btw. I'd check those two things and go from there if, I plan to. |
