Dont boost to 15 untill you have a tranny than take the abuse. But the swap would still be well worth considering we all spent on average what.....8500 on our cars (spending 3k more is like 12000)thats a good number for stock 14'. I can understand both sides...a swap at minimal mods runs 14's while SuperSprynt said we run 16's if that both on stock motors(close too). spending 3G's on a swap gaining 2+ seconds is what you would expect slightly from a turbo/supercharger slap on(spending about the same) but in DG's case the motor can handle it (minus the tranny). At the same time I can also sympathize with having a stock 5SFE/7AFE and having to order a clip wait and wait then spend more time getting it in and wirring the bitch then needing a new tranny(maybee new mounts) only to run in 14's. But do you guys actually know what driving in a 14second car fells like, I drove my friends SRT-4 for like an hour a week back and it had intake, and B.O.V. and she ran mid 14's and that was a very very fun ride, being able to flick off Mustang GT's on the highway. Anyway 14's is a very nice number, but i see for the trouble it may not be worht it for some people.

Remeber stock EVO's and STI's run 13.6's!!

Just recently had to fork up 550 for some tires, after talking to the guy he said your car is "V" rated and you DO NOT want to seep below that. So I got some V rated Dunlops i think FM901's. And I know my last tires were not V rated because my ass is glued to the road at all times, its pretty cool because now I can understand how our cars handle so well. My advice is do not drop below factory specifications cause it will damper your cars ride.

Im doing the Geo Metro with a Hemmi Swap biggrin.gif How awesome would that be a car that weighs as much as your toothbrush with a huge motor(Not possible but fun to think of)

Although it is a toyota motor, putting in like a V-6 Solara engine Supercharged with like a Toyota Tacoma Tranny would be suffice smile.gif

300z.. more "reliable" power potential on stock block, RWD, Targa top (crossing fingers). But the 6th gen is a nice looking car and with the swap you might expect to have some problems natrually, but end result will be unique and fun. Either way you go you win so have fun and make the right choice for you.

You come out with a Header and CAI, with hopefully a Dyno sheet and Im down It'll take a minute to save up the cash. But I would be very weary w/o a dyno run, just to prove some sort of gain. smile.gif Not that I dont trust you its just I dumped $1100 for like lets say 5HP.....hope you understand.

No that one does not WORK. Trust me I posted like a mad man trying to figure it out. It does NOT tell you that the brown ground wire has to placed closer to the ECU than the black*hrmm* or vice versa, Also does NOT give the knock sensor pin. Just got to Apex-i.com download the japanese language pack for Adobe get both the wiring diagram and Instucions. Dont use that site as shown above download the pack, theres a 5sfe's in there (it didnt come in the manual you have) with easy to read pin-outs and instructions.....The black/brown ground is the difference between "Check Engine Light" and a properlly working SAFC tongue.gif

But you have Gen1 Im N/M im speaking of Gen2, hahaha. Take warning all others who do get one/

I just got a quote on a 04" WRX ..*gulps*..check this out.....

....Directly from the letter,

Dear Daniel Snider:

Thank you for your Internet request.

Based on the information that you have provided, if you were to replace your
1997 Toyota Celica GT/LE with a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX, your new six month
premium would be approximately $2,005.60. This is a total increase of
$1,448.90. Please keep in mind that this is an estimate only, and the actual
premium may differ based on the Vehicle Identification Number. Since this
request was for a quote only, no changes have been made to your policy.

I have Geico and I pay now $94 a month for Liability only, this would be $330 a month...damn rolleyes.gif Scratch that idea.

I went shopping today for a WRX..not to bad there 2004 WRX Standard Package+Sun-roof goes for-22,000 (no way I can get the STi) with like 10,000 miles on it. Took a test drive, it was a very smooth ride and past 4K its pretty nice. Im just waiting to pay off the Celica then Im about 98% sure Im going to get one. Plus insurance likes the AWD+ 4 Door thing too.

STi will hand it to the GT-4 stock for stock, but the Celicas look much better.
