I use Hastings filter with my oil change and have to say I have a lot of confidence in them.

I See you want us to trim and fit the new pieces. Would you charge extra to trim it and send it ready to install?

I could be a misfire. But then again the way you describe how you do 35 in 4th gear by barely touching the gas pedal I think that it's just like 95CelicaST mentioned. You may just need to downshift and problem solved.
but you mentioned it happened after the timing belt replacement. Maybe the mechanic who changed the belt adjusted the timing on the distributor and that could have caused it for you to notice the difference right after the timing service. I would just double check it with a timing light just to make sure it's on point. but then again it could also be your driving... Good luck and hope you find a solution to this issue smile.gif

Do you hear the injector in #4 cyl. clicking as loud as the other 3 cyls. It could be a bad injector.

I also believe you busted your clock spring. Don't forget there is a specific procedure to center the clockspring before installation. Basically you have to count the amount of turns it makes when you spin it with your hand before instalation, using that information you know how many turns are necessary to have it centered, Then you have to center the front tires and the steering wheel. That's it, you are ready to install.

One of the steps was missed and that is why you felt that tension when you where turning you wheel. I'm sorry to say i don't think it can be fixes so you may have to buy a new one.

Good Luck! smile.gif

I hope you find it in your heart to fix the vehicle. It is a great car, but then again i think your mechanic would have the last word since he is the only one that has diagnosed this engine first hand and he knows how many more problems you may have to fix in the future.

I wish you the best of luck!

I have drums on mine and actually it's not that great. I have about 5 clicks on my e brake handle and when I pull it hard id doesn't do much if the car is moving. If the car is completely still, then it's good. I can safely park on an incline with out any worries. smile.gif

What evap code are you referring to? There is several and it woul point out where to start looking!

And yes, That is a charcoal canister, and no. Probably your problem will be a little further up front. The solenoids that control vacuum for the evap sell a lot on toyota engines. But you know where to look when you get the exact code.

Good Luck!!!!
