How did you figure out your re-sale price? I think its too high for a for a 94 Celica, not to mention it alreadly has 130K miles in it. May be I'm mistaken, does the car have a new engine? You see, you cant base your price with the aftermarket parts you installed or add in or on your car, unless it's a Turbo or a supercharger. Its just a thought no offense or anything, cause right now Im shopping for a 6th gen my self. About your decision on getting the 7th gen, i woukld never trade a 6th gen from a 7th gen. I think the 6th gen is unique and far more good looking than a 7th gen. But no doub't the 7th gen GTS has 180 hp and more after market parts for it. But everybody is right, the answer to your problem is 3s-GTE. Just look for any guy who has a know how on swaps and charge cheap. Im pretty sure there is somebody in your area. Besides, 7th gen Celicas are like Civics,Neons and Cavaliers. There all over the place.

Guys I was wondering if you could give me tips about my check engine gauge. When I decided to take off the cat converter I saw a wire hanging out. Anyways, I ve just ignored the wire and let it hang out there. After seeing one of the guys post about the tapping of the O2 sensor of the cat to the headers. I decided that Im going to do the same thing. After raising the car, we cant find that wire anymore.
What other options are there for me to turn off the check engine light? Or what do you think happen toit? confused.gif

The first time I've seen this brand when I was browsing in a pawnshop. It happens that my friend works there. I checked them out because of its appearance. I find its design and the name very cool. After that, I saw the marking that its made in germany. I've heard about germans tech when it comes to sound system and has a very good reputation. MB quart just to mention a few of them. So I decided to buy just 1 sub out of a pair. Im more in to SQ, not too much Bass like I used to, Just enough. But that friend of mine can't sell me just one, they have to be sold as a pair. Since he gave me a good deal for it , I decided to buy them both. I put one in a Bass tube w/ PPi art series amplifier. Men I freak everybody out because they thought Im running with 2 twelves. It out last the previous JLs that I use to have. The longest I have used a JL is 6 months and thats the W6 already. The volfenhag? I have them for a year and 2 months. Even the guy who installed it for me is not familiar with the brand, but he is very very impressed. tongue.gif

I guess a lot of peeps here are pretty right about the vettes from the 80's. I used to have this neighbor who'selling me his 86 vette for just $800 and its very clean and well kept. His main reason for selling it cheap is because it doesn't have that much power compared to other vettes according to him. He even got his ass whopped by 6 cyl mustangs and Rs Camaros. He had high expectations when he first bought it from a used car lot. After a week, he brought it to his friend who is a mechanic and had it tuned up and replaced everything that needs to be replaced. Even put an after market and performance parts for it. When the 2000 vettes came out on the market, one of his friends purchased one, since he is interested on buying one for him self he went out with him one Saturday eve to cruise, On their way to the club on the expressway they decided to pick on an IS300 heading on their direction. He told me that as soon that the IS300 found out that they were trying to race him, the driver I guess just flooored it and smoked their asses. They were trying to catch up he said but the IS300 is long gone. He concluded that time that he'd rather stick with a Japanese car. biggrin.gif

This commando style alum. wing is designed for 94-96 accord actually, since this is the widest wing they have, on that particular style, It won't be an excact fit like for the accord, For celicas you have to drill a hole to install it, but if I were you, bring it to the profesionals, they'll know what to do. It is currenly installed on my 94 Celica coupe. I don't know if it will fit a lift back. You can see the pic of the wing under my profile. e-mail me or Pm me if your interested on making an offer. I know a guy here who already offered me $80 for it. If anybody can beat that offer I would definitely sell it to that somebody.

Was there any sort of noticable difference after you installed the headers? Also, how much did the set run you?

In drag racing nothing much improved, but on the top end or 5th gear it really helps. I've raced trucks, cars that are v6/v8 some of the v6 I beat bad but v8s some of them I beat some of them I just keep up. Mine run me $220 shipped.

I got mine at toysport. The other guy is right, installing the headers is pretty easy depending on the headers. After that you have to bring it to a muffler shop to put the extension to reach your Catpipe. MOst of them are made for Corollas not for Celicas.

Is the short shifter for 7a-fe and 5sfe thesame? Coz Im planning to do a swap soon and right now I have a 7a-FE.
If im going to do a swap for 3sge/3s-gte I need a 5sfe tranny. So I don't want my money to go to waste.

get either an st185 (5th gen celica all trac) or st205 (6th gen celica all trac). the st185 will be better for you because it sounds like that you dont have much knowledge (no offense) in this. plus some people say that the parts are easier to find. which i dont get because they are the same engine. but anyhow. you will need someone to do the wiring harness for the car. because you are going from a usdm lhd car to a jdm rhd engine. if you know what i mean. plus this is not needed but i would suggest doing it. replace all the fuel lines, hoses, spark plugs, plug wires, etc. if you get the clip most everything that you need will be on it.

No offense Gt2Gt4 I really like your car as far as exterior looks But please take those mud guards off. To tell you honestly, everytime I show your car to my friends they always notice thesame thing(MUD GUARDS) they say your car has nice exterior set up but the Mud guards. Probably you're trying to make a point that you're going to use your car for RALLY. Not many rally cars use mud guards now a days. Im telling you this in a good way, I dont want the pic of your car to end up on Riceboyz galleryat R-Toyz.com. frown.gif

I've been doing some canvassing on the labor. So far the most expensive I've ran into is Toysport. they were charging me from $800-1500 in labor.
Thats with every single option that I wanted and probably some customization. With the engine and everything they gave me a $4000 w/ labor already. But damn 3500 for the labor. Where does he work? On the dealer it self? You should have told him that the job is for a car not for an 18 wheeler truck or a Jet biggrin.gif. Depending on Location, a lot of people with know how will do it for less than a thousand or may be 500. Just keep on looking, trust me its worth it. You could use that extra money for other stuff for your car.

Tried it, thinking its only $6 shipped already so what the heck. You wont notice the difference on regular driving only. But when I went to the track( I got there late though )and had the chance for 1 run and that time not knowing they were using Pro tree lights did not anticipate it. Reaction was 1.06 and still manage to run 17.3 @ 79mph. With out that chip with reaction 0.6--- I used to ran 17.2 at 73 mph. Im concluding If my reaction time was thesame as I used to I could have hit probably high 16s. Although my best time on my car is 16.9 on a cold weather. So you do the Math. Im planning on running again just to check if it made a difference. I'll let you know guys.

Im with Matt, since I dont have the money for the swap might as well stick with my 7a-FE and make it a little faster. So if you're selling the mods, potential buyer here. E-mail me dawg.

If I have the money i would definitely go for the 3rd gen. We're talking about 30 hp difference from the 2nd. but hey, how much does 30 hp cost? the cheapest would be NOS but I wouldn't recommend it.
I think 4 grand is a good deal already, I have a friend who just spent thesame for JDM Integra Type R engine. Money wise though would be to get the 2nd gen cause it has a built it intercooler already. Saves you money as well as time, but of course we all know we want more psi we have to get a bigger intercooler.
But that is up to u to work on a future.

I have also a 7A-FE, my question is. Is the money, time and effort really worth turbo charging a 7A-FE engine?
Well I guess for some people who can afford to spend money are up for the challenge. I've done a lot of inquiries in the past even people who sells Tom's turbo kit for the enigne are saying its not worth the money compared to buying the whole 3S-GTe engine. Main reason is there's nothing much you can do on the engine.

It is the synchronizers alright that means its worn out already and it needs 2 be replace. I've also heard from another mechanic that you or somebody can do a little adjustment to the clutch. But definitely its the synchros Im having thesame problem right now. The synchros are not that expensive, its the labor. Or you can find a friend that has a know how on tranny that will help you install them.
