Would you sell the driver seat brackets? I need the pieces that hold the seat back to the bottom, I don't need the actual seats. Zip code is 37604 for shipping.

QUOTE (bradshaw75 @ Feb 2, 2012 - 1:25 PM) *
However, on the drive home today the CEL came on and I ran the code and came up with a 71. Any recommendations on where to start looking? I know this is the code for the EGR but I didn't know if there were any common areas to check first

Well while I was driving today the CEL light just went off randomly on it's own so I don't know what's going on

Well turns out that the oil was a bit low so I topped it off and haven't seen the light on since.

Well the car has 228k miles on her and I've only driven it for about 1500 miles so far on a fresh oil change with 5w-30. It does burn oil so I assumed thats what it was but It doesn't always seem to come on during curves or acceleration although that is when it mostly occurs. Also this is my winter car so I don't run it hard but tomorrow I will check the levels and see if she's a little shy of full. I just didn't know if this was a common problem, I don't know anything about celicas.

I appreciate all the responses on this, I just didn't know what the light was an indicator for, I just assumed it was the oil level but pressure makes sense too

I've been driving my 94 Celica St the last couple of weeks and at random times the oil light will come on for a split second and then go away.

It has also flickered on and off rapidly on some occasions. Is this just an oil level light going off?

I assumed this is common since these engines burn oil quite regularly but I'm thinking it could also be a loose connection or faulty sensor.

Does anyone know what causes this light to come on?

I'm new to the Import side of cars and just recently picked up a 94 Celica ST to get some better fuel mileage and a winter car.

The car has pretty high mileage at around 227k and I was thinking if I needed to swap the motor, what kind of vehicles could I source it from?
I've read on the forums but couldn't really find anything about the different 7afe's specifically that would vary from one car to another so I wanted to ask.

I'm lost in the import market, I've always been on the domestic side of things with sbc's. Any help would be appreciated and it's not a dire need to know
just mainly a curiosity to learn in case I ever have to venture down that road.

Yeah well I don't know anything about this kind of car and the motor is all new to me and they all look the same anyways. I guess I'll just run casting numbers and see what matches up haha.

I figured these cars would be slow as hell but thats kinda the point, this is going to be my commuter to get back and forth from home to school and I'll leave the speed to my 1986 Z28 Camaro wink.gif That was my DD until I moved 2 hours away and it only gets about 13 mpg highway haha.

Ok so I got a picture of the engine bay today and it looks like an 4A-FE

One more question though, what car could I use to find parts for this motor? Would it be best to just run the block codes and trace it to a car or were these all the same in the different applications?

I know it's not the stock engine, it was a swap but I haven't been to look at it for myself I'm just going off of what the owner told me. I won't actually be in town to check it out for another week so I was trying to get some information before hand. And thanks for the responses so far.

Awesome, I figured it would be a good car to make the hour and a half drive back home for the weekends.

What do you think would be a reasonable price and are there any problem areas I should watch for? Working on V8's all my life have caused me to take no interest in smaller vehicles but with this drive the weekend warrior has to stay at home frown.gif

So I'm looking to get into this whole Celica Scene for a commuter vehicle and had a couple of questions.....

First I'm looking to buy a 1994 Toyota Celica St with 215k on the body and about 115k on the motor which I'm told is the 4A-Fe and stock 5 speed Tranny.

Now down to the business of everything Celica related, What kind of gas mileage should I be pulling? Also what would you think is a proper price? The body is in good shape and clear is faded but not too bad. And are there any problem areas I should be made aware of when I go to look at it like popular rust spots or weak parts?

Sorry for all these questions but I've always been a Camaro man and I know little to none about imports and 4 bangers. Thanks for any and all input no matter how small or simple. I need all the help I can get haha
