i have 4 of them. keep an eye on your oil consumption. most early GTs burn oil from a poor design in the piston rings. i have rebuilt several of these 1ZZ engines with new rings and solved the problem. I have a 00' GT 1ZZ whereabouts do you live? If you're close I might hire you to fix mine. |

Shopping around for some race seats and I was wondering what you guys would recommend as far as brand and comfort. Part of me wants to go with sparco just for the name, but then again other than Corbeau and Vulture I'm not too familiar with any other brands. Recommendations? |

I have hardly any room to work when I'm under it. After about an hour of trying to loosen the bolt on the solenoid with one hand I'm half tempted to take the exhaust off just to have it out of my way. Any easier way of doing this? |

I'm trying to replace my + battery cable on a 97 ST and I traced the cable back to the starter before it ran out of sight and I couldn't reach any further. Problem is it's behind the engine and I can't figure out if I should try to get to it from up top or jack the car up and go at it from the bottom. Both ways seem pretty cluttered to me. Any suggestions? |

I think you're talking about the Serpentine Belt.... On the front of the alternator there is a tension adjustment bolt. Loosen that until the belt clears the pulley so that you can remove it. You don't have to remove the tension bolt, just loosen it. You wouldn't happen to know how tight it should be upon replacing the belt would you? |

In regard to everyone here who has taken the door panels off and installed 8" aftermarket speakers. What brand are you using, and what do you think sounds best in your 6th gen? |

Hey guys, I recently bought an aftermarket head piece for the sole purpose of hooking my iPhone up to it and listen to all my music through that. It proved to be a big hassle, and I discovered that the Alpine IDA-x100 was made for iPods and such exclusively. I was wondering if I could get any info on what I would need, or if there's even a mount for this piece for a 6th gen out there before I go off and purchase it for nothing. EDIT: My main problem is the head mount. I can't find one for a 6th gen anywhere. I've already got a wire harness. Never mind guys, I found the how-to guide. Took me a minute to find it. This can be deleted. |

This has been happening for awhile now. Initially I had a bad serpentine belt and replaced it. The sound stopped for awhile but eventually came back. Now I have no idea what is causing the sound. I added power steering fluid and that worked to a degree but now that doesn't have any affect at all. The sound seems to stop once I either hit a certain amount of RPM's or once the car has been in motion for awhile. I was wondering if anyone could give me some answers. Here is a vid for further examination. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH2lpxHPv48 |

I think it looks nice. blends with your license plate panel. also, cheap mod for those who don't have JDM tails. I think it fits your car very well. Thanks a lot . Should I just spray paint the whole car? lol EDIT: DUH! I did the license plate panel as well. Forgot to mention that part. |
