Hi, I've got an ST202 94' 3G-SE. Recently the car has made a weird voice from the rear drivers wheel. Kind of a knocking/rubbing noise while wheel is rotating. Thought I had a flat tyre at 1st. Tyre was ok! Noise happens after running from cold or reasonably cold and continues for maybe 500m before settling. Could this be the beginning of bearing being knacked? Thanks... |

...Only because they fit and little adaptation is required - if any? You know...unscrew and screw! Besides...I don't want fat shelf speakers as I ain't Two Pac stuff. |

...the Toyota Part Numbers for those? I checked mine out and realise why somebody shorted the system and stuck a couple of Kenwood Shelf mount speakers (120w each!), 'cause one of them (of the originals) was perforated! lol... Those Kenwood speakers look 'cr@p' (I guess it is my age as I ain't a boy racer anymore! lol...) and want to get those original replacement put in for the damaged one - less obvious and more stylish in my mature opinion. Any feedback is cool! Jaq1967 |

Stupid question perhaps? Do tyres wear out more on the inside of the wheels more than on the outside (I'm talking on fat racing wheels), or is that to do with the tracking of the car needing adjusting? Somebody fed me this info and I thought 'bollox, don't believe you!'. Should I believe or sort tracking out? jaq1967 |

Can't say I have seen a Celica in London as pretty as my Lucile. Loads of Mk 7's, but I do not think much of their shape. They look 'cheap'. Sure... mine turns heads big time and the girls sure do notice her (with me inside!). Now this is a strange phenomenum... Until I got my hands on Lucile I thought this 'attraction' by other people was sheer fantasy to cars. But...nope they do admire and I notice they look. It is a nice feeling, you know, to be noticed, but do you know who I feel proud of? Lucile - sad eh? Friggin hell...this is really worrying me this bond I'm getting with my car. Nah... my car is my car and however people wish to immitate Lucile - they simply can't. Jaq1967 Do I need to get a life anybody? lol... |

Surely shouldn't be too difficult to modify something for your speakers to fit! Your kind of lucky thet are smaller than the original so fit in the hole to start with? Now it is a case of closing the size of the hole! I am sure there are a range of products available (cheap or even free!) that you can use. Got some thin Plywood? Do a template and cut it to shape with a jigsaw. Bolt on to existing bracket (having pre-made the holes for your new speaker bolts!) and bolt on your new set! Just an idea... I'm sure you'll fashion something cool! Hey...you got a kid brother who plays with Mecanno? Just a thought! Good luck... Jaq1967 |

Got that expensive piece of plastic today and fitted it! It is a VERY stylish piece of plastic and feel like it is WORTH the money spent as it is well made and VERY useful. My hole is filled and it looks lovely! Jaq1967 Can post a photo of it if you want or email me and can send you it through that! Thanks again for the BRILLIANT idea. |

Found out the cost is about £900-£1000 if ordered from Toyota UK, so a lot for perhaps little gain! lol... It can be 'messed-about-with' using a computer and cable (like suggested) but only by somebody who knows what they are doing! I think I will leave that for now and think about it later maybe? lol Cheers folk. Jaq1967 |

Cobby Hole - I take it you mean near my steering column on the side? Checked out that link and not a good one sadly. Does that PC you mention come with all the software or is it best left to a pro? At the end of the day is it all worth it as I am not racing her? OK...would like it to 'take-off' and rock, but won't be doing top speeds. What does THIS chip control exactly? Is there only ONE on this babe? When ordering one from Japan will the have different types for different countries do you know as each country has different rules? Do you think they have one with no holds barred - not fcuked about with? Tx Jaq |

Hi, New to this still, but somebody mentioned I could upgrade the performance of my car with a chip! (I think he's been playing Grand Tourismo on his PS2). My car is a recent import from Japan to the UK. As far as I am aware it has been 'chipped' to convert the milometer from KMS to MILES - something that is needed for the SVA rule I guess over here! I need to find out more from my dealer as I am now VERY interested! lol... It is a ST-202 (3S-GE). The speedo I did notice only reads up to 120 MPH max! I know in Japan they do put limiters on their cars so: 1) How do I know if my car has or has not been chipped and what to look for? (...where is the damn thing kept on the motor and where do I find out what it does?) 2) If a new chip is available to replace this one what kind of gain could I expect from it? Is it speed or BHP or what??? 3) If I do put a new chip in the car (performance one!) what is the cost and where do you get them (Net or UK). Is it easy to do and will I need to change the speedo dash so it reads properly? Possibly all daft questions as I do not intend on racing my baby! The laws in the UK are strick anyway... so even at 120 MPH I'd have a heavy fine! Come on guys...give us your brains on this one as I am not sure if my mate is on another palnet and the cars I used to muck about with didn't have computers (late 70's - yeap...old bugger!). Hope this isn't such a stupid question. Thanks Jaq1967 |

Looks like a generalised DIY book on mechanics and less specific to Toyota Celica's - unlike the Haynes manuals etc... :-/ Not sure if that is what I'm looking for and know i can get something 'generalised' in the UK. Jaq1967 |

Thanks for that and I went to my Toyota Main Dealer and gave him that part number. I thought I'd give it a go. They have them in stock in the UK and should have my hands on it this Friday. Will let you know exactly what it is. Why 'exactly' you ask? Toyota have it labled as an 'Audio Accessorie' - which could be anything!!! lol... Well took the gamble and the cosy is £39.95 (inc tax - about US$60.00). A lot of money and non refundable if wrong! Nevermind...but looks cool and work the money in my opinion. Jaq1967 |

Just an after thought! That CD holder looks cool and probably what I would go for. But... my car being a RHD do you think I will still be able to mount it in the bracket as I noticed it is a bit back-to-front! :-S Jaq1967 |

Hi Folks, Bought a new CD player for the car to replace this twin combo JDM Pioneer twin system (Radio/cassette and Graphic EQ), which was basically pants as in the UK the FM band is broader (?). The resulting hole is huge in my central console. Do you know if Toyota (in the UK) do anything like blanking audio plates or (better still) some kind of replacement adaptor kit for new players as it looks really pants. (I was thinking of sticking a spindle across it and sticking a bog roll in it and using it as a bog roll dispenser it is so cr@p looking....lol). At the moment the player is wired up and loose as I need something as the original brackets are wierd and is just dumped in this hole on my dash and looks really sad. Any suggestions? Jaq1967 |
