It's been a while since I posted. I've since sold my 6gc and some of you may remember me as the guy who was trying to trade the miata for another 6gc. Well I decided against and have built the miata into something I would consider very road-worthy. here are a few pictures that I really like

the last one is it getting aligned to flyin miata specs.

my mods list are as follows:
Suspension:
intrax lowering springs with shocks.
Front Strut Tower Brace
Kosei k1 wheels with Bridgestone Potenza re11's, 205/50/15

Engine:
Racing Beat Intake
OBX header
High flow cat
Bosal Spec Miata exhaust
Flyin Miata stage 1 clutch
wire tuck
1.8 swap from 96

Interior:
roll bar, interior from a 2001
Sparco Racing seat

Exterior:
Glass top
Turn Signal Intakes

I've got more in it, but I can't recall everything.
here's a picture of the engine bay:

Alright. it's a five speed. It's got cold A/C. Its the same one in my sig. She needs a new home, because the friend who has it now wants a miata. So he's open to trading for a miata also. Must be five speed. This celica had a new engine in 2001, fully rebuilt. Receipts and everything A lot of work has been done to this, and a lot of tasteful mods also. New paint, GT4-esque spoiler, hood scoop, air intake, exhaust, strut tower brace, etc, etc. It has red leds in the high beams, but the highs are still fully functional. It has fog lights that I really like on this car. Pm me for details or info

you're not breaking any laws, and you don't technically have to disconnect the battery, as just disconnecting the airbag connectors won't set one off, but if you're worried about accidentally setting one off, it never hurts.

I'm sure he means just a regular wiring diagram. In which case I do give the haynes manual credit for that.

Nice, I had a 94 3kgt that i got from trading my celica. Then i traded that for a miata frown.gif But now I want a celica. All of these are great cars, but the miata is killer slow compared to the 3k. But as far as free mods. Weight reduction. The most common free mod that everybody overlooks. The Celica may have low HP ratings and a sh*t power curve, but that doesn't really matter when your car is as light as a bicycle. tongue.gif

I regret selling my old celica so much, and i really want a new one. My miata is cool, but i love the celica's. They can be made to look so clean, and it's amazing. Obviously I would prefer GT over ST, but at this point I don't care which one I get. hatchbacks would be definitely preferred. I loved the coupe, but I love the hatchback more. Must be five speed. or if you have an automatic with all the necessary parts for a five speed conversion, that's cool too. That's all my requirements for the celica. As for my car.
It's a 1990 Mazda Miata MX-5, five speed convertible. No, the top doesn't leak.
The car has 202,552 miles on it. Well maintained? Yes. I wouldn't drive her any other way.
The only mod is just an aftermarket air intake filter. There is nothing else that has been done to this car.
The interior is in great condition. The top leather of the steering wheel is coming off, but that's the only thing.
Drives well, has the odd noise here and there. Not really maintenance related noises, more just the noises a 21 year old car would make.
The speedometer cable squeaks when she's cold. The exhaust probably has a leak somewhere, but it's not obnoxious.
I've done a lot of work to this car. i've replaced the ECU to the updated Mazda B one. Not much of an upgrade, changes the batch injector firing to sequential.
The spark plugs have been replaced. The coil has been replaced. The igniter has been replaced. The car has an intermittent spark loss issue, when it happens (rarely) the tach goes to zero, but always comes right back up. It's very clearly the only thing I haven't replaced, which is the Cam Angle Sensor, which is an 80$
ebay part, that i will probably end up replacing before anyone buys it anyways. I've replaced the transmission fluid with synthetic lucas, as well as the rear differential. The car barely smokes, when you're at idle for a moment, and you press the gas, a little puff of smoke comes out. Also, the ebrake shoes are worn out. that's everything about the car. I used to own a 1994 celica, and i miss it so much. Thanks for looking, and hopefully I can become a bigger part of 6gc.net once again! feel free to text me- 803.834.1144, or call me. so i trade the 3000gt for a miata. it's a slower, more fun car, plus a convertible. I got a few tickets I didn't really need to get, and then i realized i shouldn't be driving something that can go fast that easily, so i found a guy on craigslist, and traded them. It's a 90 Mazda Miata MX-5, 5 speed. It has practically no power options. It does have power steering and an incredibly fast working, powerful A/C. The paint is nearly flawless, and the interior is in really nice condition. It has brand new speakers all the way around, plus a 12" woofer that takes up the entire trunk that i'm contemplating removing. She handles really well; apparently the last owner replaced all the suspension on all four corners. I like this car way more than the 3000gt though. not as much as a hassle. she does have an intermittent stalling issue, not unlike my celica ( in fact it does the same stuff that my celica used to) but i have ordered the ecu, as i popped it open, and sure enough, things were burnt. So that should be fixed soon. The first day i put the top down, i cracked the rear window into a lot of pieces, but just yesterday i bought plexiglass and cut it and glued it to shape, and it looks really nice.

i love this car. but i still want to buy another celica and have this. So if any one is selling a project celica for cheap, let me know.

okay, presure2, just close this thread. I didn't post this because I wanted to hear everybody's negative opinions. I'm really sick and tired of this.

I know vr4's are sold in the US, but they are fairly rare. and i don't think i'd spend more on this making a vr4 replica vs buying a vr4. TT swap- 3000, AWD- 1000$. plus originally we bought this car for 800$. It would totally outperform a vr4 because of the 10.1:1 CR! Vr4's have an 8.5:1 CR. Same boost on both, which wins. And i'll turbo it myself.

And I'm not talking about keeping this thing N/A. I'm definitely going to TT it. I don't feel like fighting with you man, We're arguing over something that we shouldn't. I love celicas, you love celicas. I like my 3k better, and maybe you don't, but hey, it's your opinion. Keep your celica if you don't want a 3k. just chill out and please stop getting defensive.
