Dam this car looks really good! Cant express how much i love the paint colour you chose and the kit is very aggressive. The ?many? spoke rims suit it alot. Please do the right thing now and get a set of coilovers and drop her down abit, only thing holding it back right now in terms of looks. And it also looks like interior may need abit of work (looking at your centre armrest)

My center part has a couple spots but besides that the interior is beautiful now. Just put in very nice 7g seats, and the backseats are perfect. got a nice console besides that armrest, perfect steerting wheel, new floormats. as far as lowering, i wanted to go with springs, i dont wanna spend 800 bucks when im simply going for looks, not suspension performance necessarily. Buy hey man thanks alot for the compliments, and advice.

QUOTE (chacha @ Jan 16, 2011 - 4:03 AM) *
how'd you fit in the 7gen? what work did you do to make it work?

Well i honestly didnt think it would be bad but they just did not line up at all. so, i had a couple options. take me seat pan off the old seat and put it on the new one, or the other choice, which is what i did, take the mounts off your old seats, cut them off, grind them, whatever works, and i welded them to my new slliders. (Custom Brackets) instead of buy brackings for 200 bucks lol.

Nice work, good job on getting that bodykit to line up, I've always heard that the zyclone/c-1 kit had fitment issues, yours looks good though. Will look awesome when you lower it.

Thanks man. Just ordered the eibachs. That body kit was a bitch

Alright everyone for now i have to post url's for the pictures because its not letting me just upload them. It says something about image tags not being allowed. So anyways im 16, got my celica last march 100% bone stock. Did a fresh rebuild and then they styling began so here it goes and i hope you all enjoy, i have worked my butt off to put alot of time and money into this car, 16 years old and bought the car myself and have paid for everything on it by myself and its finally done. hope you guys like it and ENJOY. smile.gif.

The day I got it. Offered him 1000 less than what he was asking and got it for 1400.
http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x340/A...pg?t=1295119723

Did a full custom exhaust, small high-flow cat, with bigger piping all the way back, to a small tip, sounds really good.
http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x340/A...pg?t=1295119723

Had 204k on it, didnt wanna worry about reliability, fresh rebuild. Only mod is an aem intake.
http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x340/A...pg?t=1295119723

Bought some pretty rims and tires for it.
http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x340/A...pg?t=1295119723

After i did these things, I saved for a month, bought a c-1 body kit, saved a couple weeks, bought z3 fenders, saved for a whole summer, and bought a 2000 dollar paint job with dupont bluish/greyish metallic paint and it began.

Trunk gettin some work done to it.

So everybody I hope you guys enjoyed it. Long story but really i know its hard to see but the paint and body actually had many imperfections, i mean to everyone thats seen it, they think its amazying but for 2000 i didnt wanna be able to find an imperfection so i am taking the car to get "touched up" and sutracting that from the guys payment. Like i said i drove to school with a crappy looking car for several months and after putting all of the money i worked for. I have the best car at my school, and the good part about it. Mommy and daddy didnt buy me a new mustang or anything. Everything was paid for by me. Well im ordering some eibachs this weekend to lower it, and if you guys have any other advice, i would love to hear it. Thanks for your time.

for any swap you're looking at spending at least 6 grand minimum... from what im told.

do some searching buddy, ALL the probable, possible, and impossible motor swaps for a 6gc have been discussed too many times.

also some great build threads to follow.

edit: anyway, no disrespect but at 16 id be more focused on becoming familiar with the car and becoming a better driver, driving techniques, etc.

Ok maybe im just not understanding but a beams engine is 2500. My dad can do the swap. therefore not being a smartass just simply asking for someone to expalin how its gonna cost another 3500 to put the motor in?

QUOTE (Johnnyny @ Jun 3, 2010 - 9:45 PM) *
imo being 16 ur just fine at dat power level but u could start by stripping down the car lose some weight dat will help and invest that money into suspension

Ehh i like to go downtown on fridays and saturdays and race and i dnt like losing to monte carlo ss and other v6's lol but i mean the car does surprise me as far as out running civics and a couple integras.

Well that's at least 75 hp right there! laugh.gif

Alright, I'm done being a smartass now. Time for the helpful part of my post. Seriously though, $2,500 won't take you as far with a Celica as it would with, say, a Honda. A popular slogan around 6gc is "you gotta pay to play." These cars were never very popular so parts are often hard to find and very costly. As far as your idea of buying/building the 2.2 liter 5S-FE engine, the work would be literally the same as swapping in the 2.0 3S-GE BEAMS engine or better yet, the 3S-GTE engine (from the Celica GT4.) All three swaps into an ST are roughly the same amount of work, but the BEAMS and the 3S-GTE would yield more power for your money. The easiest swap for your car would be a 4A-GE engine. Or there's even the option of just adding a turbo to your 1.8 liter 7A-FE. A few members have done that and although peak numbers weren't earth shattering, they weren't bad either. But please click the link below. It has all kinds of useful information to you. Any questions not covered in the link below, feel free to ask.

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=29705

Oh, and don't take the "Don't ask stupid questions" posts seriously. They're bound to come later in this thread, but you'll just have to look past them. A basic search will find you almost any answer to any question you have, so there are some people who will snap because you asked a question but there will always be someone turn up and give you a real answer.

And, as always, a thread just isn't a thread without pictures. So post some pictures of your car up! Maybe try to look in the Multimedia section and enter your car in the June Celica of the Month thread.

I agree they are a some what rare car which makes harder to get parts for say you need something from a junkyard but i wanted a car that not everyone at my school had. Noone has a 6g celica everyone has neons and civics. But thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

QUOTE (cheela @ Jun 3, 2010 - 10:27 PM) *
not gonna bash you cuz your young. but I will say, read up. I must've read thru this forum for a few months before getting to know celicas and how they work. If your budget is 2500 then just get basic bolt ons and use it as your daily driver. No need for speed yet.

LOL yes i need speed. i like to race, and im gettin bored. I thought of two things, trade for a civic, integra or something, or do a swap.

Ok so i have a 95 st. I just rebuilt the 1.8 5000 miles ago as soon as i bought it. Im 16 and this is my first car and ive been driving for a couple months and am already bored of it. I simply want something faster. I already have brand new rims, c-one body kit and racing fenders and a new paintjob so now im looking to get this thing moving. I havent read much but ive read about the beams engine. So my question. I either want to A.) Build my 1.8 and turbo it. B.) Buy a 2.2, built it, turbo it. C.) Buy a jdm swap beams etc., and possibly turbo it. I just want some suggestions on what i should do. Money is not an issue but i dnt want to spend over 2500. Thanks to anyone that trys to help.
