I got a stock Evo 8 turbo after helping a friend upgrade his car to a bigger setup, and I really wanted to try it out on my Celica. I've run the TD05 turbos on the Celica and they've been fantastic. The Evo turbo is one of the best factory turbos you can get.

After comparing the turbine flanges between the CT26 and TD05HR, I decided an adapter would be too difficult with my limited machining options:

From there, I started looking at manifold options. I didn't want to spend too much since this was more of a proof of concept, so I checked out the stock Evo 8 manifold. The Evo 8 has the same firing order as the 3S and the turbo uses a twin scroll design so the manifolds have the same 4 to 2 runner design as the 3S. I bought an Evo exhaust manifold gasket and was very surprised - 3 of the exhaust ports are nearly identical to the 3S! The 4th is the same size, but the spacing on the 3S is shorter than the evo. Sadly I didn't take a picture of this...

I ordered the 3rd gen exhaust manifold flange from Full Race for $50 and found a used (ebay) stainless manifold on the evo forums in good shape for $75. Now the cutting:

Then to cut out a small section of the 4th runner to match the 3S:

I added about 1.5" of stainless pipe to push the turbo out a little

Took everything to my local fab shop (Lenger Racing) and for about $125 I had a welded manifold. Total cost of $250, not bad! Add in the O2 housing ( top half of the downpipe ) for $80 and an adapter to mate to the rest of the exhaust.

Power wise, this definitely out-performs the CT26 and an upgraded CT26 w/ 50 trim comp wheel. The CT20B is closer, but I think the Evo still had more power ( especially at 16psi ) though both spooled equally well.

Unfortunately, the ebay manifold is too thin and kept cracking. Was tempted to cut off the ebay section and replace with a thicker ebay manifold or a used high-quality manifold, but have since sold the car.

3rd gen 3SGE motor that was used for spares and mock-up of a couple custom turbo kits.

The head is was ran in one of my Celicas for around 2 years until it was swapped out for a ported head.

Includes: Valve train, gears, camshafts - untouched since the head was pulled - all 3SGE parts.
Top feed fuel rail and stock 3SGE injectors (295cc - I ran 550cc injectors without problems).
Side feed intake manifold with throttle body - ACIS may be welded shut as it created havoc under boost.
valve cover, alternator bracket and hangers present, alternator
Extra bosses have been drilled / tapped to match the turbo exhaust manifold
coolant elbow is either from a Curren or Celica.

The block appears to be in good shape; no obvious signs of problems. I pulled the lower oil pan off and everything looks like the factory original parts.

Includes: Rods / Crank / pistons
Oil pump / oil pans / oil pickup
Water pump / lines / thermostat housing
- There's no power steering pump and the pulley on the A/C pump was mangled during shipping.

I travel to Chicago quite often and occasionally to Detroit, so I can deliver / meet in this area to avoid shipping. Otherwise will need to be sent via freight. Will post pics later today.

Sold both Celicas and its unlikely that I'll have another turbo car in the near future (grad school + kids = broke). Will be posting all of my spare parts over the next few days.

While the intercooler is dinged and dirty, it does a fantastic job. Having the inlets coming from the same direction made piping a lot easier (with a clocked-turbo) as its avoids the A/C lines and exhaust. With the stock air filter box removed you can easily run the cold-air pipe through the fender.

I have an updated Greddy TD06H 20G turbo, Tial 35mm WG, and T3 adapter for sale - $425 OBO + SHIPPING.

The turbo originally had the internal wastegate which would experience boost creep, so I swapped out the exhaust housing with the corresponding non-wastegated housing and added the Tial 35mm to my setup. I ran a pipe off the stock 3rd gen exhaust manifold (between ports 2 and 3) to the Tial, which worked surprisingly well.

The center cartridge was replaced in 2009/2010 after noticing shaft play. I opted for the newer SH-L2 cartridge which is supposed to have better spool up. Unfortunately the car died about 4000 miles later and I never had the chance to really test it. The car was sold off and the turbo has been sitting in the display case at Lenger Racing for the last year while I decided what to do with it.

The exhaust housing and center cartridge are genuine Mitsubishi parts. I'll include the oil feed line and possibly the drain line ( if I can find it - wasn't anything special), and if wanted, I'll throw in the modified 3rd gen exhaust manifold.

No downpipe.

Will post pics later today.

Used Trust Intercooler core, originally from a R34 Skyline. Tabs welded to mount on the Celica. I've only ran it behind the ST205 bumper so I'm not certain about fitment with a ST/GT bumper.

$175 + shipping. Will include the intercooler pipes I have.

The glob on the lower end tank is where the skyline stock mount was removed / filled:

When installed (after fresh coat of paint):

$3K for everything, car and spare parts.

I'll take pics of the interior and undercarriage today. No real rust that I know of.

Here's the wheel damage - looks like the rim protector on the tire sheered off, which should be covered under road-hazard so I can probably get it fixed this week.

And the driver side seat, which is the worst of the interior wear:

1996 25th Anniversary Edition Celica Project / Parts car - West Michigan $3000 OBO

Drives but needs work and I just don't have the time or energy to do it. Have some lingering issues after a slide-off into a curb and there's a bad exhaust leak that keeps returning.

The car is silver with black cloth interior. The exterior has a few scrapes and needs some touch-ups but is good overall. Interior is worn, mostly driver seat and driver side carpet. ST205 hood and bumper.

The motor is a 3rd gen 3SGE converted to turbo (pistons and minor head work). The motor was built by C-Tech Performance in Grand Rapids (http://c-techperformance.com/).

---------------------------------

Details:

3rd Gen Head and Block
Turbo pistons
ST202 side-feed intake manifold w/ ACIS disabled (ACIS creates havoc under boost)
Top-feed fuel rail with 550cc injectors
Custom (cracked) exhaust manifold with Mitsubishi Evo 8 TD05-HR-16G turbo and 02 housing
Custom stainless exhuast and muffler (Lenger Racing)
Newer timing belt and ST205 head gasket (less than 8K miles)
Spearco W/A intercooler, ST205 ic radiator, newer Bosch water pump
Tial BOV
E153 Transmission
ST205 ECU (no code 54)
ST205 calipers/rotors modified to fit st202 hubs *** see below
Rear disk brake conversion
KYB rear struts
Rear strut tower brace
Koyo radiator
3 Excellent Rims & Tires, 1 with minor damage to rim.
New control arms, ball joints, tie rod ends and end links
New AC condenser / radiator

----------------------------------------
Spare parts:

3rd gen 3SGE block and head
new Denso (supra) fuel pump and resistor pack - planned to switch back to std low/high fuel pump operation
Complete Superstrut front suspension, hubs, subframe, but bad Fig 8s.
ST205 center diff, driveshaft, ST185 rear diff and subframe (big dreams)
2-Post wing
ST202 front bumper
ST205 exhaust manifold

Incomplete Turbo kits:
#1: ST205 exhaust manifold with port for Tial WG
T3 Adapter,
Greddy / Mitsubishi TD06H 20G turbo - fresh rebuild
* Needs downpipe to be complete

#2 Custom stainless manifold with TD05 adapter
Mitsubishi TD05H-14B turbo
Evo 3 O2 housing
* Needs lower downpipe to be complete

------------------------------------------
The Bad:

Needs front passenger side ST205 rotor and pads - accident pushed rotor into ball joint, gouging it badly and causing a loud squeal. New rotor shipped from UK is $150. Pads are the same as the Surpa TT.
Needs alignment
Needs clockring - no cruise, horn, and possibly airbag!
Bad valve tick while idling, hasn't gotten worse or better over the past 3 years
Bad exhaust leak - appears to be a cracked manifold.
Bad A/C drier. Have new part, needs to be installed and A/C recharged
Bad antenna
Bad rear defrost

Will post pics later today.

No idea how many real miles are on the suspension bits as it came with a front clip. I probably put around 12K miles on it.

USPS shipping to Hawaii is expensive! I need to weigh them still, but it looks like $100.

For Sale: Stainless manifold, Mitsubishi TD05H-14B, Evo III O2 housing and O2 flange. $250 + shipping

** Note: this was run on a 96 Celica without A/C. Don't know if it would clear with A/C installed **

I created this setup after getting screwed on a knock off Greddy T67 kit (was supposed to be genuine) and I decided to make the best of it. I modified the manifold to use a standard Mitsu TD05 turbo flange and added an EGT port. Luckily whoever created this manifold used good quality stainless tube.

The turbo is an old 14B I had left over from my DSM days. The Evo III O2 housing (ie upper down-pipe ) is a standard upgrade for the DSM's as its larger and higher flowing than US-stock. This makes the rest of the down-pipe a simple 90* bend on our cars.

I planned to run the 14B for a couple of weeks/months while I broke in my engine, then upgrade to a big 16G or 20G turbo (cheap, 350+HP capable turbos readily available everywhere!). I ended up running this setup for about a year, and now I'm making a new crazy kit. Due to the small turbo size, spool up is crazy, but it runs out of breath quickly. The 16G or 20G turbo's would be perfect.

Basically selling for the value of the manifold and O2 housing. The turbo runs fine but is rather old.

PM or Email with questions.

The head gaskets are different, the GTE has more water ports due to the additional heat from the turbo.
