So to make a long story short my ex and I started a project car 7 years ago. He left me hanging and besides paying for everything I did all of the research and most of the work. We got everything apart and back together with the new motor and transmission in. I had the wiring harness done by Dr. Tweak which I know many of others on here have seen his work. Then the power was cut at the place we were working on the car and it didn’t get a thing done on it for years. We never got the car running. Well I finally left, and the car and what I could get back, came with me. This past summer a good friend, Art, helped me out a lot. We worked out a lot of the kinks in the wiring, eventually found the fuel pump was bad, and replaced that. Finally Art got the car running for me!! I ripped out the alarm system and could actually start my car with a key. As much of a triumph this moment was, and as much as I love this car and loved putting everything together and learning so much, I cannot do this alone. And at this point in my life I have a lot of things I need to move forward with - leaving this car lower on my priority list. This has been a great experience and, though almost complete, I need to pass this on to someone who has the time, money, and heart she deserves. The shell is a 1995 Toyota Celica SE. The motor is a 4AGE AE101. This is an automatic. The motor was purchased from Japan Domestic Motors, and was warrantied to have less than 35,000 miles on the motor and transmission set. They guarantee that (1) All engines must undergo vigorous compression tests, (2) All engines must record 150 psi per cylinder or greater, (3) all engines must pass a leak down test and (4), all engines are started at their warehouse prior to shipping. Anyway, at this point, these are the things that still need to be completed. -The vacuum lines need to be hooked up properly. -The power steering canister needs to be mounted. -The throttle cable is a bit too long as is the shift cable. -The exhaust system will need to be fabricated and hung. -The piping to the air filter needs to be manipulated a bit to fit behind the battery, or the battery can be placed somewhere else like many people do to have more room in the engine bay. -I have not replaced the brakes or rotors so I’m sure that they could use some care or replacing at this point. I have replaced 90% of the hoses. The shell is in pretty good shape, a small ding or two, and the radio antenna is broken. The interior is in useable condition but a little worn and not the best looking. I know it seems like there is not much left to do but the thing is I was not the car enthusiast when this project got started and am not now. I was very interested - loved working on it - but taking something apart and putting it back together is one thing. Having the knowledge to trouble shoot and solve any problems it may have is another. The car has sat for a few years and has not been registered yet so it will need to be towed. I live right outside of Philadelphia in the King of Prussia area. Also the title is clean and in my possession. I am looking to sell the car as is for $2100 OBO. I also have a set of 5 star brushed aluminum rims. They will work with any lug pattern. I have a stereo I purchased for it as well if someone is interested and have a catalytic converter if wanted. Below is a link to the photos: (Please let me know if this does not work, this is my first time doing this) Celica Swap I also have a video of the car running that i just need to get if anyone is interested in seeing (hearing) it. Thanks, Adrienne |

Lagos helped me replace the fuel pump yesterday and the car is running now.. Still have some issues to work out but at this point I believe everything with the wiring harness is good. The short list: I need to correctly hook up all the vacuum lines, drill holes and mount the power steering reservoir, remove the alarm, and have an exhaust made.. plus a some odds and ends... But Thanks for the help and Thanks Tweak for doing the wiring harness (6 years ago lol). I will definitely post some updates... Wasn't sure I'd ever see the day of this car running |

I had a few small wiring issues in the relay box. I do have spark now. The SRS light is also off now. I checked the voltage on almost every harness plug and everything is getting power. I believe the issue is my fuel pump which i will be replacing this weekend. I am unable to hear the pump running at all and the car has been sitting for almost a decade. Thanks for the responses and I'll let you know if the fuel pump was the only issue this weekend. PS I do have the 201 4 runner igniter as well. |

I am pretty sure Tweak is in Phoenix. I'm not betting on anyone actually being close enough.. years ago when I did all the research for the swap I didn't see anyone from around here. But I'm desperate so I figured I'd give it a shot. LOL |

So I will just state the quick and dirty because this really could be a very long story... I purchased a 1995 celica st with a blown motor about 4 maybe 5 years ago. I then bought a 4AGE101 Silvertop motor and transmission. My Boyfriend at the time, his dad, and I put the motor/trans in. Anyway it is about 90% finished. Dr Tweak did the wiring harness for me years ago. It still needs the power steering canaster mounted, the throttle cable mounted, a few hoses... and an exhaust put on. Then of course trouble shooting any vaccuum issues and what not. It does run but i haven't run it for long. It is black (with 2 silver race stripes unfortunately). The exterior is pretty clean. There are 2 small dings that can easily be hammered out (possibly without even ruining the paint there). Absolutley zero rust on the frame or other components. The interior is ok.. the seats are stained, the panels are mostly in good shape, i need 1 passenger side panel replaced. The back seats are good. The issue is our 10 yr relationship ended 2 weeks ago (which I have been put through the ringer mentally/phisically/and financially) and I need to do 1 of 2 things. Finish the car and drive it or sell it and get a different car. I would love to drive it since so much sweat went into it but I need something asap. I have done a lot of the work but I need to ensure that everything is done properly and it is safe to drive. So my question to anyone out there that can give me any advice is what could I get for this car and is there anyone nearby with experience with this motor that would take a look to see if that is all that needs to be done and depending on what is left give me a quote on helping me finish it. Mostly just trouble shootng. It idles pretty low. I really appreciate any advice/help. |
