I am having the exact same issue at the moment also. It's odd cause at night it runs perfectly then the Texas heat hits and it runs like crap. Going to check all my lines later tonight and make sure everything is connected.

Everything was working fine well over two months since replacing everything.

Okay, so i've replaced the cap, rotor, distributor, plugs, and wires. The car will drive perfectly fine and as soon as i go to idle it drops to around 600ish sometimes lower. It only idles bad in gear and after sitting for about 30 seconds adjusts itself out and goes back up to 800. I just got a cel for a code 71 today. I think it may be the vaccuum modulator, but would this be the cause of the idle problems? I'm wondering because the modulator is somewhat expensive.

Thanks in advance guys.

Well we got it with a crowbar. Unfortunately while taking out the transmission we bent the plate going around the outside of the tranny and now the flywheel is rubbing it kindasad.gif

Last time we tried doing the drivers side axle we thought it was all the way in and wasn't and ended up breaking the tip off. This time we would like to get another opinion on whether or not this looks like it is in all the way.

Will appreciate all the input given. THanks

No not from where it is smoking at. It is smoking from in between where the TWC and front exhaust pipe connect.

Yeah i realized what i put after the fact and just laughed. Anyways yes im pretty sure its not coming from the engine because no smoke is coming out tailpipe. The only smoke i can see comes from the TWC and front exhaust pipe...

Ok so my cat converter started smoking not too long ago. The car is a 1995 gt and is a california model. I can't seem to figure out why or what is the cause of the smoke. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Ok well me and csscza got the car started after a week or so break from working on it. The timing belt was off. When we were aligning the camshaft timing pulley we used the wrong hole. There was a circle and U and we didn't use the U. Anyways we realigned everything and it started today. Now there is some smoke that appears to be coming from where the TWC and exhaust pipe meet, but it doesn't smell like exhaust at all. The car also overheated a little, but it is probably just some air in the system and we are going to burp it tomorrow.
