Go for OEM every time unless the engine has had some serious work. Over here in the UK I am finding that the local approved Toyota dealer is very competitive with pattern parts from independant car accesory shops, and you know the stuff has been tested by a multimillion pound corporation. Example, just bought some brake pads from an independant because his shop is 100 yards from my house. The pads are OK, ie, good feel and stopping power but.........what I thought was a good idea bonded to the back of the pad has all melted during 30 minutes of spirited driving. No big deal but something to think about when going for the cheaper option.

Cheers, RJ.

Sorted,

Changed the air filter, cleaned the Lambda sensor in Cellulose thinners, emptied a bottle of fuel line cleaner into the tank and then thrashed the thing to within an inch of it's life along the local Motorway. Result, a reading of 0.1 CO compared to 0.33.

Thanks guys. I have found out that the Celica does still have a mixture screw that I could temporarily adjust to get me through the test. Anyone know where I can find it? confused.gif
Cheers, RJ

Ps. I have poured some injector cleaner into the tank and run for 200 miles or so.

Hi Folks,

My Gen 6 has just failed it's MOT on emissions. The co was 0.33 and should be less than 0.3. Plugs and filter seem OK, any suggestions?

Cheers.

RJ.

Hi All,

New member here. Just bought my first Celica, so far so good. One problem I have is there is no spare wheel. Any one got one going spare? Excuse the pun. The wheels fitted to the car are after market 14" alloys.
Another problem is identifying the wire that operates the electric aerial.

Thanks for your help. confused.gif
