when I installed the engine start button I had to wire up a switch using the wire from the ignition harness: White = 12v constant Black/Orange = Ignition Wire Grey = Acc Black/White = Starter I tapped the Acc and Ignition wires together (so I didn't have to setup 2 switches) and wired the other end to a switch. Ran the 12v constant to the switch as well so when the switch is flipped it's just as if you had your key in the on position. Also, there's a blue and red wire on the ignition harness as well and THAT is the wire that controls the windows, moonroof and wipers! So I tapped that into the ignition and acc wires so that when I flip the switch, all those wires connect with the 12v constant. TA DA!! This message is about 5 years old but it was the only place on the internet that had this answer - I had a similar problem. I installed a power antenna and when I clipped the connector I disconnected the 12v wire from the power windows wire. Wrapped them together and voila - fixed. |

You can get a new power antenna - motor plus mast for less than $40 shipped at antennamastsrus, com. Takes a bit of fiddling but not very difficult to install. |

For less money than a new mast you can get a new antenna from www.antennamastsrus.com. It takes a bit of fiddling but when you are finished you know that you have a good antenna. |

I just put in a new antenna and used the following wires on my 1999 Celica White/black -- ground blue/orange (could be blue/red - I am color blind) - 12 volt continuous black - 12 volt when radio is on ---------------------------- When I installed my power antenna, I cut the connector and the power windows stopped working. This is because power to the windows from the 12 v (key on) occurs in the power antenna harness. To get it back working connect grey - 12 volt when key is on blue/red (could be blue/orange - I am still color-blind) - connects to power windows I suggest that you use a voltmeter to verify colors since I am color-handicapped!!!! |
