sad day, a chevette! I needed a LS in my life, and given the other LS options this is the best for the $. Two sets of pop ups, two straight sixes, three snails and a dash of Murrkah burble on top. Nice collection. Thanks Ferdi. I am really happy with the stable right now. Add in the diesel and the zx6r and I have pretty much everything i need(Besides AWD). Needs moar Z06 Its pretty much a Z06, did you peep the sweet stick on "z06" vents below the door? |

^MEH^ What has been stealing my free time the last few years: FBO 335I: 05 zx6r 2012 6.7 f250 91 mk3 with a 2jay Due to lack of space around the house I am renting the celica was the weak link and was put under a tarp in a field at my parents. Now I am buying my own house with plenty of room and a shop, so I can bring her out and begin "the build". |

Asks for a 80s toyota.. and square recommends a late 90s domestic If you go far enough back I suggested the third gen Celica and then the NA8 Miata so you can stop rolling your eyes before I stop them for you. And that means you can recommend something that is obviously not acceptable? Hey berto, I recommended a miata, so now I will recommend you to buy a 2004 e46 m3. |

MKIII supra, daily driver, and not turning a wrench. You can only pick two. . The only MKIII that is reliable enough to daily drive is either a 7mge that has been rebuilt, or a JZ swapped car. I would never spend over 5k on a MKIII supra unless it had a proper JZ swap done. there you are! so these cars are not reliable at all? lol They can be however they need to be modified to be unfortunately. The headgasket obviously needs to be redone and even then you have to worry about rod knock due to coolant in the oil. Then you have to worry about the wiring harness getting brittle and losing electrical connections randomly which can leave you stranded. I would recommend a 90s car for something reliable. There are very very few cars from the 80s that are reliable these days unless they are modified and LOADS of cars from the 90s that will be dead reliable and cheap. Get her a miata, they are perfect for teenage girls(and only teenage girls). |

It depends what you want out of the car. That thing is going to need some serious work to get to the caliber of car that I know you generally build. Overall in today's market that car is probably worth $2000 as it looks to have a lot of rare options(super monitor and headlight washers being the big two) also the r154 manual transmission in that car is worth $1000 alone. However it really depends on the condition of the engine and if the headgasket was done properly. With 165k there are all kinds of things that can be wrong from the seals in the turbo to the syncros in the trans. It really varies from car to car with MKIIIs. That being said I see so many botched repairs on the car and lack of maintenance I wouldn't touch it as you are more than likely going to have to redo literally every single area of that car to make it reliable and clean again. Things to note: That is not an OEM 88 spoiler, the maf sensor is missing, the fan shroud is missing, front lip is very wavy generally due to scraping, dashboard is thrashed, and just overall the thing has not been taken care of IMO. Mkiiis can be reliable cars with the 7m, however they have to be well taken care of constantly AFTER the 7mgte is rebuilt properly. MKIII TSRM: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/default.aspx Mine was relatively clean overall and was a 1991 however to get these cars reliable and seriously clean drastic measures have to be taken: |

Well I figure after a year and a half I should update this thread. Lots has changed in the last year including some promotions at work that have allowed me to move into a bigger house with a bigger garage, as well as add some more cars to the collection. I have first off gotten back into the supra world and picked up a clean title 1991 turbo targa MKIII supra: I continued to daily drive the celica however now that I have disposable income I can finally build a MKIII to what I want: Eventually I needed some new tires for the celica and decided I wanted to get rid of the ridiculous spacers I had on the celica(35mm rear, 25mm front). I ended up picking up 4 17x9 gunmetal Work Kai replica wheels and got some new tires for those, so no more spacers! At this point I was getting tired of daily driving the celica and wanted to get something that was a comfortable daily driver, but yet fast enough to still put a smile on my face when the time was right. And thus, a 2007 BMW 335i was welcomed to the family: As one would guess the celica has been getting seriously neglected lately and it sits most of the time undriven. I of course have thought about selling it multiple times, but every time I get to drive the car, after driving the 335i and supra for weeks, the celica has a unique feel to it that I absolutely love. In the coming year(After the 2jz goes in the supra) the celica will go down for a complete powertrain and exterior makeover. All I will say is I plan to build the car into a purpose built track car(circuit and drag) that I can drive to and from the track with and bash on mercilessly when I do. |

bah... spoken like a true troll I have actually had a lot more "encounters" with other cars in the bmw than I do with the supra. I suppose the 3" catless exhaust on the supra will do that. Generally the only people that will try anything near the supra are either cocky domestic owners or people that have some serious firepower under the hood(I got the surprise of my life from an old Nova when he got on it and his turbo was louder than mine 0_0. Of course it ended up being a 72mm strapped to a 5.3 LS making 800whp+). So yes the bmw is much much more fun to troll with. |

Honest opinion, which car do you prefer? They are two totally different cars despite being almost identical on paper. Obviously the 335i has many more features and is much more comfortable to drive but the Supra really gives you that primal driving experience that the bmw lacks. I enjoy driving each, but overall I prefer the 335i because it can be a calm composed daily one moment and then a total monster another where as the Supra is always aggressive to drive. |
