Just use 2 socket extensions and it will do the trick. Just don't forget about the little plastic clips holding the bumper to the metal bumper in the front. I went that route 2 days ago when I changed to headlights to projectors on my ST205. |

I installed a TWM shifter last year in my car (ST205) and I also noticed that the JDM shifter is different than the USDM one. You will need to pry off those circle clips, then you will be able to use a punch and an hammer to take the pins out. I also had to break the white plastic part that holds the shifter arm, it's no big deal if it's not there. |

Hi nammer, Just to let you know that you can ask to ship Domspun's order and mine together, we're close from each other, I've already asked Domspun if this was alright and he doesn't see any issue with that. |

That's for sure, there's a huge amount of new stuff in that car and a lot of working hours as well. I'm sure you have a good car in your hands. |

Looks like one of those that I was looking for when I bought mine. The one I'm talking about was from Laval in Quebec. If it's the one that you bought, you got a very nice car and a good deal as well. Here's a pic of the one I'm talking about... Good job finding that car and Welcome! |

My ST205 does the same thing sometimes. When it's cold outside and I push the car just a bit too much a few minutes after starting the car, I get a CEL light (which goes away as soon as I stop and restart the car). If I wait about 5~10 minutes before pushing the car, I don't have the issue. Since the CEL goes away by itself when I turn off and restart the car, I never bothered to check for a code (since I think I won't get anything at all). |

I installed the 6th gen clock spring this weekend to complete my 7th gen steering installation and all is working again. When I didn't have the clock spring, I made sure the horn was working allright, because I need to have a working horn by the law, but my flashers were not ticking off by themselves, which was kind of annoying. It's easy to install the clockspring, the only problem I see is that the holes I had on the clock spring didn't match those on my car. Oh and I was missing the pigtail (the one that has the wires for the horn and cruise control, not the one for airbag) that's facing the driver (not the one in the back), so I needed to use one of the wires for the airbag (which I don't need because my car doesn't have air bags). I'll need to find that pigtail eventually, because I plan on installing cruise control eventually. |

Thanks for confirming that a 6th gen clock spring is what I need. I was about to make my own, it would not have been that hard, but I prefer having the real thing. Thanks for sharing. |

I don't have any picture since my car is an imported GT4, but the lights are exactly the same as any Celica from USA. The only difference is in the wiring. Canadian cars light up the high beams (not as bright though) for daytime running lights. |

Of cource you will need to run a wire for that 194 bulb in the low beams and you'll need to cut your current DRL as you guessed. In my opinion, that is what looks the best. It looks nice, it's not anoying and it's legal. |

I'm kind of in the same exact situation. I installed a gen 7 celica gts steering wheel on my gen 6 gt4 from japan. I've worked my way temporarily by doing some wiring, but it's not the best. My flashers also don't come off by themselves because I don't have the clock spring. I am planning on doing a home made kind of clock spring made out of metal and wood, but I would have prefered to get a real clock spring. |

You could switch your DRL from high beams to low beams pretty easily as well. There would be 2 options that I would know how to do... 1) I don't know how the DRL circuit is done on Celicas, but here is what you could do... Delete the DRLs and wire the low beams to turn on when you turn your key to the on position. Costs very little, but you're stuck with DRLs that are as bright as the real low beams (which I don't think looks too good). 2) Buy some JDM headlights (either projectors or regular ones) and you have a nice socket for a 194 bulb in the low beam. Just put a LED 194 bulb in that socket and you have very nice looking DRLs (even a regular 194 bulb works and looks better than DRLs in high beams, but LED bulbs looks very nice). |

You should not remove your DRLs at any time for any car in Quebec. They are mandatory according to the CSR (Code de la Sécurité Routière) and you can get a ticket for having a car without DRLs (not sure, but I think it's a 154$ fine). Even myself who has an imported GT4, I needed to install DRLs to be legal. They're not required at inspection and I see many cars with disabled DRLs, but I prefer the legal way, I don't want to end up getting a ticket just because of some DRLs. Depending of the equipment on your car, you could switch your DRLs to your fog lights for example, it's all wiring things up, which is not hard at all. |

Unplugging the sensor button thing would work, but it's not the best way to do it. The car will believe your doors will always be closed and the light in the dash showing that doors are openned will never turn on. Even worst would be for people who have alarm systems in their cars. Ususally, the alarm system is wired to detect if a door is openned. If you remove unplug the sensor button thing as mentionned, you will loose a very nice function of your alarm. Maybe some people don't mind doing it this way, but it's not such a good idea. The best way is to do it the harder way (but it's still very easy) by unplugging the connector next to the ignition switch that goes to the dinger. |
