protip: don't post pictures with your address, and someone elses address, on a random car forum on the internet.

oh, and don't leave your stuff in the car.

otherwise, sorry for your loss. that's what insurance is for.

Depending on the weather, I will be there with my '03 GSXR. It isn't the Celica, but i've never been out to starved rock on my bike, and it has some really nice straights on the way out there. My friend may also show up with me. It'd still be nice to see some Celicas.

i'm considering buying a used Z3 for my next car.

it's the cheapest 'sporty' BMW I could find. If i were to get any other bimmer, it'd be an M3, and those are pricey.

For $500 a month I could get a brand new Z06 Vette.

it's nothing surprising, cars aren't meant to do that speed unless they're specifically designed to do so.

my gsxr 600 has done 153mph before the engine just couldn't push it any further. that's only a 600, i have no idea what the top speed of a 1000 would be. probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 180-190? I know busa's top out at a little over 200mph.

If your insurance / payments on a car like the celica are too high I wouldn't even consider my own place, unless you're making serious cash. Talk to some friends and look for a roomate that way, or start dialin numbers on your phone.

My car insurance, full coverage, is like $800 a year. My sportbike insurance is $40 a month, and my car is paid off.

Around here a decent 1 bedroom apartment costs $800 at least, for 2 bedroom it's easily over a grand. It's cheaper in a lot of instances to just rent a house, or even get a mortgage if you don't have ****ty credit.

I agree with everything mynzeyes said, he speaketh the truth.

I wanted the PS3 to be a success, because it would push microsoft/nintendo to produce higher quality games.. more competition is always a good thing in the industry.

However, due to the price point, the lackluster online service, the lack of games/exclusives, it just isn't that great of a system. Everyone here will either love or hate the PS3, but i'm certainly not going to spend over $500 on a glorified blu-ray player. Look at the sales figures :

PS3 - 1.4 million units sold. Plenty available in stores.
Xbox360 - 10.3 million units sold. Plenty available in stores.
Wii - 4.3 million units sold. None available in stores.

If you developed games for a living, which would you rather create for? Game development is a risky business, and it's all about quantity. It has nothing to do with peoples hate for Sony at this point, it's about business & logistics. Unless Sony sells 3-4 million more consoles this year, they're in deep ****. Selling 4 million consoles after your launch isn't the easiest thing to do, either.

it's a $600 gran turismo/resistance: fall of man machine.

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/25/soft-ps3...-for-ea-others/

that article sums it up pretty nicely. sony screwed the launch up so bad, raised the price on the console so high, that nobody wants to develop games for it because they realize they won't make their money back.

so, even in 6 months from now all those exclusive titles won't be so exclusive any more. my advice would be to get an xbox 360, all the good games are going to find their way on to it one way or another.

Actually, if it weren't for the Mustang, they'd be a really close tie with Ford.

Ford just posted a huge multi billion dollar loss, Toyota is still making plenty of cash in the auto market. Ford has the GT40 exotic, Toyota has nothing except the Supra which they haven't produced in over 10 years and wasn't exactly labeled a supercar.

Maybe in terms of image you might be correct, but that's a pretty bold statement to equate Ford to Toyota. One is a failing dinosaur of an auto maker, the other is quality money maker.

what does 256nm convert to in terms of ft lb of torque?

198hp is pretty impressive, that's like almost double the output of stock motor.

i think the 360 wins in most respects, only due to the fact that it's been out longer than the other 2 contending consoles. microsoft has had time to perfect the system, and right now is the best time to really showcase the power of the system cause developers are starting to really crank out quality titles.

the wii is really innovative, interesting, and fun. i wouldn't recommend playing it alone, though. the console really shines when you've got multiple people in wii sports. there aren't tons of games out for it, but this year will either make or break the console depending on how good the new metroid/mario/ssb will be.

the playstation 3 was hyped to be some great system, and it turned out to be a giant flop. you'll meet fanboys of the system who swear up & down it's the greatest thing in the world, while developers/important people in the business/everyone else keep saying it's a piece of crap. it should've been 100x better than what consumers got, and i'll never buy another sony product for as long as i live because of how they handled the launch.

it's a shame that when a car gets like that it's almost next to impossible to drive it around normally, it usually becomes a track toy and nothing else.

if i were to get a supra for a fun toy, i'd at least keep it at a streetable level, say, somewhere around 500hp or so. if i want to do fast 1/4's i've always got my gsxr.

i've done a metric ton of homework on the 7th gen. the 2zz is a decent motor, but Toyota sure does know how to make your wallet thin by trying to get some gains out of it.

save up 5 grand if you want boost, otherwise do some basic bolt on work.

get a good intake, header, exhaust, butterfly mod, PFC, a good tune, lightweight flywheel, and try losing some weight on the car. the most important thing you could possibly do is figuring out how to stay in lift between shifts and know how to launch/drive the car.

i hope you got an 01-03, those are the best years of the car, imo. higher redline and no drive by wire junk.

i'm jealous, i want one! i just don't have the money and i can't see spending close to 10 grand on a highly used one cause i know i'll want to dump money in to it. have fun with your car and read up on newcelica.org for some more tips.

that car is awesome in the sense that it just exemplifies that people do totally unnecessary **** to their car in order to look 'fast'.

wings, gauges, hood scoops, neons, vinyl, rims, racing seats, and everything else on the car is whats wrong with the tuner culture. the stuff doesn't do anything but suck money out of your wallet and make people look like Rtards. this car is the epitomy of rice.

great pic.

Everyone loves to label every concept car. Theres no concept Supra, and that there isnt the new NSX. Its a concept car which shows the direction in which they plan on taking the NSX. Read the articles people.

eh, i'm calling it the 08 NSX for arguments sake, it's better than "acuras new concept, the supposed successor to the NSX". although, you are correct.

it may as well be the NSX, though. it will be the only exotic that acura produces.

you've got an AT200

the ST isn't known as the ST204, st202, etc. only the GT models and euro models.

it depends on what kind of bike that was, Hondas aren't known for their speed. you can hear the guy mis-shift it a few seconds after they start to begin with. he banged it off the rev limiter and missed a gear, somehow.

put any car against a liter bike and there isn't a chance in hell, these bikes are faster than most exotics cause they weight nothing and have excellent power/weight ratio.

not to knock tufy's ride or anything but he'd have to bend the laws of physics to be able to beat a busa or a gixxer 1000.

tufy's car is quick, but that guy on the RR can't ride for ****.

bike versus car isn't exactly fair anyway, my bike does 11 sec 1/4's stock.
