Yeah I haven't found one either, my cars running for the most part though I just have to let it warm up to operating temp before I move it anywhere and if I stall out it takes a random amount of key turns to get back on its legs... But it's good to hear you've at least got another celi to tinker with, I'd like to go that route but bills are kicking my @#$ lol

Dang looks like I've more than likely got the same problem then... I put my igniter in yesterday with no luck =|

QUOTE
Check this thread out. It sounds similar to what you have going on:http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=87295&hl=
My experience was just with a code 12, not the other two. In my case, the copper wiring inside the distributor had unraveled itself and took out the coil also. You probably would have noticed this when replacing your coil, however.

But yeah this is what I had check first when I ran into the problem, took apart my dizzy and it looked like someone put a gingers hair clippings in it lol

hmm from what my dad says you cant really self test an ecu, iirc he said you need some sort of tester box that connects between the ecu and the wiring harness or something like that... its kind of unsettling that after you replaced your igniter and still have the problem though. i started out with the occasional stalling while driving issue and then it went away for abit, but now its on full force. hope you figure your problem out quick man im definitely following this lol

QUOTE (TRDweaponX @ Oct 7, 2012 - 2:34 PM) *
Need some advice. I have a 95 gt 5sfe 5 speed celica. It will start an d drive down the road a few miles then it straight up dies. After it dies it wont fire up again till it sits for a short amount of time (about an hour). I pulled the codes and got a code 12, 13, and 14. Tested the primary resistance on the coil and found it was too high. Replaced coil, cap, rotor, wires, and spark plugs and I'm still having the same problem. Any advice?

My cars going through the same problem;( The only thing i have left to replace is the ignition control module. Ive got the code 14 showing which i found out through the engine maintenance forum meant "IGF signal from igniter is not input to ECU for 4 consecutive ignitions" and the possible causes were: a short in the IGF or IGT from igniter to ecu, the Igniter, or the ecu...

Ive got all new wires, distributor, plugs and Ill be getting the igniter hopefully Tuesday so ill find out if thats whats the cause. i can get my car to start up and run occasionally for a few minutes til she warms up abit and then will only turn over and sputter like its flooded or something... is that the same with your car??

is that the spring loaded cap on the top? might be a pressure relief valve?

Lol no I surprisingly know what that is, its a t55/60 torx key plug about 4 inches closer to the radiator to the right of the relief valve.

It may be one of your accesories [alt, pwr steering, ect].
You don't fill it through a torx plug, it's filled through a 24mm plug on the side [front, facing the radiator] of the trans.

And IMO you're best getting a factory manual [Toyota BGB]. Try ebay.
They're MUCH MUCH better than any aftermarket crap.

Hmm that's sucks that's where the shop guy said I should put it in at... So just out of curiosity what's that plug on the top for?
I'll definitely be looking on eBay for one of those manuals lol I just got to wait till I get home so I can use a real computer I hate using eBay on my phone

QUOTE
maybe someone installed a dog box and gilmore pulleys while you werent looking

haha that'd explain so much, my car goes through mood swings =p

QUOTE
So when you say got rid of the system is that just the subs or everything including the amp? Alternator whine thru speakers could also be it..

Yeah I got rid of everything when I traded it off lol but the whines definitely coming from the engine bay

QUOTE
Easy way to see if that's it.
Rev the engine in N. If you hear the whine, it's not the trans.

MOST gear oil is pretty much the same thing and won't make much difference, as long as you have enough in there.
Even though you just filled it a few months ago, if you're having a problem it's a good idea to check it.
One major difference between the engine and transmission oiling systems is while the engine pumps the whole time it's running, the trans only pumps when the car is moving. So if you have a leak somewhere besides the bottom you may not see it until it's too late.

Hmm I didn't know that lol this is my first stick shift so I'm new with the concept of how it works, how do I go about checking my fluid? When I filled it I just put 2.7l which was amount the auto shop guy told me to through a hole on top that I took out with a torques bit. But when I went out and rev it in neutral it doesn't whine at all. I'd love to buy a manual but the local shops around here haven't had any Celica ones when i skim though the aisle /=

*Edit* ok I hate sounding like a complete moron but I was just out messing with my car and it does whine while free revving but it's not quite as loud...

Yeah far as I know it does it in every gear from a complete stop on up, but it slowly gets quieter as I go through the gears. Maybe that's because the road noise muffles it?
I don't know if it's low on oil yet but I know there's no obvious leaks and about 3 months ago i replaced the oil when i had to put a new axle on the drivers side... If its not low could it be the gear oil i used? I put some Valvoline Synpower in her I think it was 75w-90 or something like that lol. I really appreciate the help dudes smile.gif

Ok soo I just recently got rid of my system and with my new found lack of noise violating woofers I've notice my tranny whines abit when accelerating. I don't know how long its been doing it but I don't remember hearing it when I got my car six months ago and I a little worried lol. Any clue what's causing it??

Mines the same way, but mine had been in an accident... I got it about a quarter of an inch from proper by gently but firmly twisting it lol

True true, so will you still be able to use the original alignment setup on the stock housing once your done??

Yes. One other thing is that the peons can adjust horizontally as well as vertically meaning it's easy to direct and age the lamps after fitting. I'm not sure if that can be done with the 500

lol sweet how much longer till we get to see the finished product Mann??
