Well, this is the rim I wanna put on....

http://www.pixagogo.com/S5mw!mCLWohm0g...M_/P1010001.JPG

I cant go to the dealer for the custom mades because my motor went bad, again (stupid 7a-fe), compression loss between cylinders 3 and 4 or something.

When I got it back I'll go there and then I'll have more detailed info on how much width I'll gain and what kind of material will be used if I wanna do it.

Btw, the conversion, any idea what that would cost me???? it will definately be 4 new discs,.... then I'd rather sell the rims I have here.

Well, trust me, I dont like the spacer idea as well. But its the only way to fit these 5*114.5 rims.
I would not be buying these, a shop in my neighbourhood also sells these custom made. just to show what I mean.

Its something like this or I have to sell the rims and I'd rather see these under the celi.

Well, this is the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=42614

Anyone has any experience with these things??
My prob is, I have some very, extremely nice 17" rims here, but they're 5*114.5.

I can fit them using one of these adapters, but will it damage anything (I'm thinking, bearings,...

As far as I could see, my celi could handle a 25mm spacer without the wheel sticking out the side.

So, is something like this a nogo or a gogo

Thx for the replies

*edit, these are better ;-)
**edit2, damn me, changed the link again, this is te one I mean

My '95 ST tops out at 130mph (210km/h); but it really isnt comfy driving at that speed, engine is at 6300rpms then.
(tested it in Germany, no limits on highways there)

as for performance mod, the only thing changed is the cat has been taken out.

If you have a small knowledge about electronics, just connect a transistor and make it saturate with your wire with what you turn on your amps.

Did it like that before, works prefectly and is small/easy to make and it wont damage your head unit.

Well, I found out more about the motormanagement: brandnamed Dastek Unichip -> http://www.dastek.co.za/

About the tranny I read this: http://celica.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?u...c;f=29;t=004436
Is there anyone who knows definately yes or definetley no?

At this moment I'm not real sure if I want the motorswap. They told me it would be about 4-5000€. If I also need a new tranny,... this amount will go up even higher.

Gonna have a good talk with the guy next week.

Thx for replies so far

Lo all,

I drive an AT200 and wanna put in a 3S-GE engine.
I found a shop near my place that apparantly does these kind of things but I got a few questions that I wanna ask u guys and the compare answers with what they say.

First of all, they say they can use the AT200's tranny with minor adjustments, they even recommended it because the gears were shorter ( more acceleration).
Can the tranny and coupling handle the power or not??

They were gonna keep the old ECU and put in some Computer of they're own to bypass the engine things. Anyone ever heard of this, will this keep the 7AFE's rpm limiter?? I sure hope not.

Are there other things I should be concerned about and need to ask them, like exhaust, axles, suspension, ...

I know there are a lot of posts about engine swaps, but I never found the answers to these questions.

OK, so that definately cleared it up, its a stock transmission.

Does anybody know if this "ST" transmission can handle 177HP, and can it be bolted to a 3s-GE engine??

6250, 6300; thats about the same, I dont have a digital readout.
But it gets there pretty good.

Then I'd probably have the correct gearbox because when I look at the tranny ratio's the ST should go faster then the american GT at the same rpm's.

If I had a digital camera, I'd prove that the redline starts at about 6300rpms.

Thx for replying all.

"no name brand" says it all. prolly costs 200 new, so what can you ask for it... as said before, I think 75-125 is a very good price.

Erm, mine is about 800rpm's idle; when I turn on AC idle automatically goes to 1000rpm's.
-> think this is the automatic choke kicking in or something...

I checked and it had a 3sfe engine.

With 6300rpms I rev just till the redline/rev limiter and why: in 1st,2nd and 3rd the engine will accellerate well till 6300rpms (I mean, it doesnt seem to run over its limit -> cat. is out and this made high revs better) and shifting sooner would cause less acceleration.

The engine is definately a 7afe. But it just sucks in first gear.
OK, Camry had more HP (133), but it was geared to accelerate faster in first.
Thats what I dont understand.
Celi is supposed to be a sports car and they overgear it that much in first that the engine cannot really make it go.

I'm asking this because I wanna pop in a 3S-GE; I read down here that the at200 is supposed to have drum brakes, mine has disk brakes.

i was wondering is perhaps the previous owner had a 3S-GE in it and for some reason they swapped it back and left the tranny in.
Oh well, probably not then.

But I still dont understand that you hit 37.5MPH at 5700rpms.
That would mean the car is geared even heavier then mine in first.

I drive a '95 st model;
The thing I wanted to know is;
What speed does your Celica ST get in 1st gear @ 6300rpms

Why do I ask; mine does 60km/h = 37.5mph

Thats way to much for this engine. My previous car was a Toyota Camry from 1988 with an 2.0i engine. This thing got 50km/h or 31.25mph it 6300rpms, but it accelerated was MUCH faster.
I wanna find out if I dont have a different gearbox on this engine then the stock one.
(call me paranoid; but a weaker engine with a higher gearing is something I cant believe).
