I would really try to find out what caused the ECU to fry before going any further.

Thankfully from the things you listed you only have about another $100 in repairs, probably less. Your overheating problems are probably because of a stuck thermostat. It sounds like the car has been sitting for a while and you might want to go over the hoses and belts to look for dryrot. And I would definately change the oil. Hope things get better.

You could try having someone use a pry bar from the top while you use a pry bar from the bottom at the same time.

QUOTE
hey. i had an awesome idea to get the new tired on. i would lay down the newly bought tires directly on top of the bare rim and drive over it. the weight of my car pushing down on the tire would surely force it into place.

You won't get the tire on the rim like this but this actually does work to break the bead loose. Don't actually drive on the rim though and it only works if you have a stock size wheel and tire.

Valo666,Is the balance machine you have a "table top" balancing system. If it is, you shouldn't be using it on car tires, there should be a warning in your machines owners manual about it. You can't get them to spin enough by hand to get an accurate balance. I hope you can figure out the problem.

Is the manifold already welded or is it an unassembled kit?

Do they have an Advance Auto Parts near you. I just got both front calipers for my st for less than 150 dollars after the core charge. They're rebuilt, so they have all the toyota markings on them. Oh yeah, the brand is Beck and Arnley(not sure about the spelling).

It could be Ebola. Either that or athlete's foot. Are you experiancing any anal leakage?

Maybe you should just ask a doctor what's wrong.

Like the others said it's probably just an alignment problem. You could check to see if you ball joints on that side are going bad though. Jack the car up and grab the top of the tire and the bottom of the tire, jiggle it a little. If it moves you may need new ball joints.

oh my goodness people, Alot of women(not all) like the "bad guy" because they think that there is something special about themselves that would make this bad guy be good to them. After a while into the relationship the women don't want to get out of the relationship because they've put too much time and effort into making this "bad guy" good. "Nice guys" will usually ask a woman what she would like to do that day, whereas the "bad guy" will say hey, this is what we are doing today. When the "nice guy" ask her what she wants to do,this make her feel the bourden of whether or not that day will go well or not (if it sucks she will feel it was her fault because it was what she wanted to do). blah blah blah

I was a nice guy. I married the girl I had loved all through high school, she got me to quit smoking dope, having female friends and everything else that she considered bad which included porn. I quit all those things because I wanted her to be happy. When we got married I bought her everything she asked for which included an alltrac celica. When she quit her job because it was too hard,I said " thats ok,I'll just get a part time job to cover all the bills". I did everything I could to make her happy, the whole time forgeting what made me happy. She would always tell me that I was such a nice guy to her. Well... not to long ago I got a call at work,it was about my wife and that she had been in a car wreck(the alltrac). I went to the hospital to find the police waitng there for me. They told me about the wreck and the her and the guy she was with was fine, but that they needed to take a blood test to see if she had been under the influence , because they found a small bag of marriquana in the car. When I took her home from the hospital I asked her about everything I had just found. She told me that the guy was just someone she was giving a ride home because he was broke down and that she didn't know that he had any drugs on hims. She said "I got you to stop doing drugs, how could you think that I was doing them". With that said I believed her. Later that week I got a call from the tow yard to pick up anything that I wanted out of the car. I went and got everything that I thought was worth keeping out of the car, except I ran across a really nice digital camcorder that I knew wasn't mine. When I got home I hooked the camcorder up to the tv, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, It was my wife, her friends and the guy she said she didn't know smoking pot out of a bong and doing stupid stuff for the camera. I was pissed mad.gif ..And then there it was, they were having sex, and she was doing things with him that she always got mad at me wanting to do. Now the girl I loved so much and was being so nice to is now my soon to be ex-wife. So, the moral of my story is DON"T buy your girlfriend or wife an alltrac.

I've noticed this too on other cars i've had, I wonder if at wide open throttle that the injectors are able to spit the gas out quick enough to build power. Like there is too much air coming in for the amount of gas it's able to put out. I don't know, just a thought.

Have you tried unhooking your stereo system and driving around for a few days like that. It might be your alternator like wind said. Sometimes instead of not charging enough they will start charging too much.

I switched to synthetic oil (Castrol gtx) at about 120,000 miles. It starts better in cold weather, runs smoother, seemed like a tiny tiny tiny bit more power( i could be wrong). I wish I hadn't switched though because now it leaks oil really bad,a quart and a half in a 5 day work week, and it cost alot to keep oil in it. Synthetic oil isn't bad, but switching to synthetic at a higher mileage will show you problems that you would have otherwise not seen, like worn gaskets. When I get a brand new car I will put in synthetic but not in another used car or motor. Besides an engine gets accustomed to the type and grade of oil it gets on a regular basis

Get inside the car and unscrew the inner door release handle. Pull that assembly out, grab the metal rod inside and tell me if it rattles and has a loose feel. I've had this happen on so many cars, it's a simple problem but a huge pain to fix because of the cramped and odd space you will be working in.

I'm sorry that you are going through the crap you're having to go through coomer. About your steering being off, I've seen many people on this board and other boards always say "your alignment should be fine" after lowering, axles pulls, etc. If the bolts on that strut are loosened to do work such as pulling an axle and changing springs. The steering problems that you described are alignment and camber related. Granted you can get it close enough yourself for it not to be that noticable<but>it is still out of alignment! Get it aligned as soon as possible coomer, cause yourtires will be so far gone that you will have to buy new ones. If an alignment doesn't fix the steering problem I will pay the cost of your alignment. I just don't want you or anybody else on this board to have been given misleading information which will in turn cost more money in the long run. I hope things start going good for you soon coomer.

I've been working on my wife's 5th gen and decided to take the whole side view mirror assemblies (brakets and all)off to show you guys. I always notice that when people put 5th gen mirrors on there 6th gen that the mirrors always have an odd angle to them. I think that if you got the brakets too and just switched the whole mirror and braket out(maybe with modifications) that they wouldn't sit at that wierd angle. I could be totally wrong though because I haven't tried it myself.

sorry about the crappy pics
