Well I recently had to get rid of my baby. A beautiful specimen of Japanese automotive technology sold in the form of a 1998 GT. I sold it, but kept the back half of the body kit, it is as follows:

1) One rear VIS Invader kit bumper of a 1998 st202.

The bumper is painted the celica white, I got the whole car repainted the oem white when I installed the kit. It was molded onto my car so there will be no fit issues on this kit.

As most of you know when you buy the VIS kit, you have to get it molded to your car since vis makes there molds based of veilside's. Well this one was on my car and it was flush and blended perfectly with the rest of my celica's curves.

It has a small rip in the kit, however it is on the backside of the kit. That would be the side that molds to your car. You will never see it. If it bothers you too much, you can have the place that installs it for you patch it up for an extra 10 dollars.

The kit is a little dirty, it was stored for around a year. The black stuff is just dirt. You might see little tiny beads of water on the kit, I rinsed it off before taking pics of it. I have two other pics that did not load to the site, just email me if you want them.

$150 Dollars. I will get an estimate on shipping tomorrow.

http://www.geocities.com/tuner_dude/ is the website to see the pictures.

God do I miss my celica. It was 98 GT with a 5 spd and authentic veilside kit on it. It had no other mods, but I loved it nonetheless. It was my favorite car I ever had, and I got rid of it for my dream car; a 67 Camaro SS. I love both cars but I just had to have my Camaro. It runs 10.59 at 138 mph. But no matter how fast it goes I miss the way my celica took corners and shut up civic owners. Oh well. More then anything I miss talking about the celica. Oh well, I will buy another one here in a few months, or an RX-7.

Try Fluidyne. Is that correct spelling? Anyway they make excellant top of the line stuff. Hopefully one that fits our engine bay and support. I dont know if they do or not. Call them, maybe we can get a group buy out of it.

So maybe some of you have seen this, but I think it is cool. I just came across it. Man do I wish I had a 3sgte!!

http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=343

And this is off the Rod Millen website:

Toyota executives Jim Press, senior executive vice president, Yale Gieszl, vice chairman, and Bryan Bergsteinsson, group vice president and general manager of the company’s Lexus division. “We knew from the beginning that we wanted to build a 500-horsepower Celica,” said Bergsteinsson. “Of course, with that much power we knew it would be built as an all-wheel drive car. At that point we sat down with Rod Millen and began detailed discussions and development of the ultimate Celica.”

To reach the 500 horsepower goal, TRD began work on tuning a four-cylinder production powerplant previously used in the Celica All-Trac (1988-1993). It is a derivative of the power-laden engine used in Toyota’s championship-winning IMSA GTP race cars of the early ‘90s, and Rod Millen’s record-setting Pikes Peak Hill Climb runners. The bore and stroke were increased, a turbocharger installed and Rod Millen Motorsports custom-built a set of headers made out of inconel and a stainless steel exhaust. As a result, the Ultimate Celica produces 500 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and creates 340 lbs.-ft. of torque at 5,500.

It would be very hard to tune this application. If done, you would probably want the front engine to run the front driveshaft and the rear engine to run the rear driveshaft. I have done this setup, not in my celica, but in my dads Fiero. The hard part would be fitting the back end with all the motor mounts and fabricating enough space for an engine and radiator support. If you want to do this, you would be looking at more then 200 hours of labor and fabricating. Basically by the time you got the rear to a point where it could fit something like another 3sgte, it would no longer look like a Celica. Your weight ratio would be completely off. Plus you would have to sychnonize the driveshafts on the same rotation. This CAN be done, but not practically. I say if you really want to go for it, but u run the risk of totally destroying your car and everything associated with it. But I am all for pushing the limits.

I know that there are knock-offs, hell I have the VIS knock-off kit on my car. I was just wondering about that certain spoiler. And I did see it, I was just asking if it was the same one. Damn people on this site are getting stuck-up.

I really like the Veilside Cl type spoiler. However I do not wish to pay the 610 plus dollars for it. Is there an imitation spoiler. Like a Veilside, Wings West, Erebuni or some other type? I think erebuni makes one, is that the same design though? Thanks.

Yeah, RHD is what I want. But I will wait until I get my Skyline for that. And by the way, I live in Los Angeles, and the last time I looked at the map is was still in the United States.

Hey thanks alot guys. Yeah, I think I have read enough info on the swap to make my eyes bleed. Anyways, I am probably going to get everything together withing then next 3 months if everything goes according to plan. I am gonna wait a little while after that to install everything. That will give extra time to find the right parts, prep them and sell off the extras. And why the hell not, I might even convert it to RHD. Just Kidding, Unless it can be done............ tongue.gif

Yeah, I just looked at some graphs and literature and looks as if the AWD configuration is about identical on either engine.

I will post pics of all this when it happens. Thanks everyone and thanks Coomer, without this site I wouldnt even Know what a 3sgte engine was!!

Ok here it is. I am attempting to totally rebuild a 3sgte engine and have it put out around 550 Hp to the wheels.

Now before you I go any further. Anyone who posts a "you cant do it" or "well u gotta have this and that" DONT respond. I am pushing the limits and this hobby wouldnt even be here if people never pushed the limits. So with that all said and done. Here it is

I have not got a definite list of parts yet, but they well mostly consist of HKS.

Please no negative feedback on this. And 550 HP can be done, just look at SupraStores 700HP one. I know thats at the crank but still. Oh and I have read about every single post on this website about the swap and other sites to. Sorry for sounding kinda mean, just everytime I ask a question I get people battering me, and 90% of the time they are legit questions. Everyone should be so luckly to have a website and place to share ideas. So lets not bash anyone anymore. Thanks Coomer for putting up an endless supply of knowledge!

Now since I am going to totally tear apart the motor anyway, and hopefully do an AWD conversion later. It doesnt really matter what clip I get. I want the st205, because it hooks up to an AWD system stock. But at the same time the st185 is so much cheaper. And I can do alot with the extra money I save. Now here is the question:

If I am to rebuilt the engine from the ground-up, including blue-printing, does it really matter which clip I get? The st185 can hook up to an AWD system right?

Thank you all, because I really need your help!!!

Does anyone know if they make a shift kit for our 5 speeds? I have a Greddy Counter-Weight shift knob (i love it) and now I want a shift kit to better that with. Plus I have noticed that sometimes it feels like there is dirt between the gears (theres not just an expression). Ok put it this way, my clutch and shifter are perfect, but my throws dont seam as crisp as they could be. So like before, Does anyone know if they make a shift kit for our 5 speeds?

What about the TRD quickshifter, I know it reduces your throw by alot, but how clean are the shifts? Any better? Coomer, I know you got 1, help me out.

I know that Megan is a repubable company, but do they make a good universal muffler. I was thinking of their Dragger GT. It has a 2.5 inch inlet and 4 inch outlet. I am gonna have a custom exhaust made, but I was wondering if anyone knew if this Megan Muffler puts out a good tone.

Yeah, I was going to get gunmetal rims to. Like Volk's or Tenzo's. Hey by the way Ghost_dog, how does that Gound Control/Koni setup work for you. I am about to buy the same one.
