QUOTE(bloodrain @ Mar 14, 2006 - 6:11 AM) it looks like a GTO. here are some better pictures of a falcon. this isnt the exact model in the video, this one is a 4.0L straight six turbo/intercooled with over 400hp standard with 6 speed manual or the same 6 speed ZF auto used in BMW/Jag/Aston Martin etc. This particular model is called the FPV Typhoon. I guess it is the same thing to the Ford Falcon what the M-Series BMWs and SRT Chryslers are and yes that is all standard straight from the factory including colour and wheels |

nice, it is very similar to the pearl white currens come in (my fav colour for currens after black). i think the only thing to finish it off would be 96+ curren taillights, the depth of the red and the blackened flashers and reverse lights look soo good on this colour |

i have superstrut and want to lower my curren cos it's up so high... but i'm worried about lowering and having superstrut because of the problems with it. and one suspension place said they only springs that gave a 30mm drop from factory spec so may only drop 15-20mm. should i get new shocks at the same time (curren has done 140000km/80000miles without them being replaced that i know of... |

hey all, i found these LED replacement bulbs for sale on a NZ auction site and thought they looked pretty interesting/cool. Check out the site for more info Green Laser LED bulbs Now, it says they are a direct replacement for normal bulbs with a total of 27 LEDs for each bulb, do you reckon they'll cause any hassels? I'm thinking of getting them for my tails, won't look any different since it's just the bulbs being changed but the extra brightness and how quick they light up is way better than stock bulbs. What do you guys reckon? |

Thanks for the reply, i've decided safe bet is to go with metal piping. I'm not replacing the standard tubing that goes from the intake manifold to the the air box, but i'm unsure what to do with the resonator(?) box. should i leave it on or remove it and think of something to cover the hole so that the path from the pod filter to the manifold is less obstructed? I've put some pics in my profile of the intake. i've had a look at the how-too's but nothing seems to be quite like what i'm doing, and also i'm not sure of the correct names and whether the 3SGE has the same intake set up as the USDM engines... Hopefully the pics work |

Hey, i've got a Curren with a 3S-GE enigine and i'm wanting to scrap the stock air intake and replace it with a Pod filter. I went to pick up a filter and adaptor plate and the guy had a look at the stock set up and said i didnt actually need the adaptor and all i'd need to do was get some pipe to connect between the current plastic tubing (i'm guessing it's plastic) and the airbox and drill a hole in the new pipe so that the 'map sensor' can go in. So, question - Does this piping need to be made of metal, or can it be like PVC drain piping? i'm thinking metal, but PVC piping would be easier to work with... I'm also planing on leaving the bottom of the airbox in place and sitting the pod filter inside the base (without the top half) so that it acts as a heat shield (not sure how effective this will be, but better than nothing?) Does what i am planning to do sound OK? I'm wanting the noise, but also want to prevent losing HP from sucking hot air... I can post pics of the current set up if that would help? |

bahahaha its a bit manky looking he exaggerated the cost they go for in nz as well... more like $7000-12000NZD or around $3700-$6500USD how hard is it to do a front swap? theres a few s14, s13 silvias around with s15 fronts and i'd think that would be harder to do than a celica/curren swap??? |

how does motortrend figure that the Caldina is 'kind of youth orientated coupe'? the caldina is and always has been a 5 door wagon based on a japanese sedan inbetween the size of a corolla and a camry and they only have soarer, celica and mrs in japan as sporty coupes i would have thought that there would be a new celica next year, since the 7th gen came out in 99 and i dont think it would last as long as the 6th gen and it was face lifted a few years from being launched. i reckon watch out for any toyota concept coupes at motorshows like the XYS (was that what it was called?) that was a 'concept' and a few months later the same thing was a celica with a different rear spoiler. |

that pic of the interior isnt of a curren, its some other car more than likely a big JDM sedan cos it has a foot parking brake. the interior of the curren/celica is just a mirror image of the interior of the celica in US. Curren comes in 1.8, 3sfe and 3sge, but Celica didnt offer the 1.8 and had teh beams and turbo engine. i dont know how it was marketed in Japan but i think the Curren is slightly below the Celica judging by their engine options. |

hey, this guys from England so he's asking about the the 3SGE Celica i think ;-) theyre pretty damn good cars, are pretty fast for a non-vtec/mivec type 2.0L and have great handling esp the Superstrut ones. Look out for a JDM SSII or better yet, an SS3 with teh beams engine and 200HP >:-> |

mahahaha well im hardly an expert ;-) but its good that they're on all models, means theres way more tails out there than if it was limited to just ZS and TRD models. one of my favourite models is the JDM Celica convertible with 3SGE with the nice Curren tails and red or black paint... they look so damn good and not many around either |
