how could you not gain any power. i know that with v8's going non EGR frees up some power. hell you are burning exhaust gas in your combustion chambers. 97 you might be right, it might not work for his engine, but for others it does work.

If you live in an area where you have to pass emissions DO NOT mess with your EGR. You will fail if you mess with it. As far as hp, gains would be minimal. EGR stands for exhaust gas recurculation. basically the way it works is by letting some exhuast gas back into the intake manifold. the exhaust gas is mixed in the combustion chamber and burned along with the new air. the reason they do this is for emissions and and to lower the combustion temperature. you could free up a lil power if you went non EGR, but you could be in some trouble come time for an emissions test.

I live around Chicago Heights, so Woodfield wouldn't be too bad, but if we put the meet in a more central location in illinois we might get more midwest celica owners. Maybe Lasalle-Peru Area....which is in the center of the state on i-80. Starved Rock state park is there, that would make for some cool background for pics...and the jcwhitney factory outlet is there too...just an idea, woodfield would be cool too, i have heard good things about it

This was listed for 90-94 MR-2 and Celica All-Trac. There will be slight variances depending on your application, but for the most part, these figures will be similar for most 3sgte's.

Ok,
Haven't been on the site in a while, just thought I would post some info I have on the 3sgte for anyone who is interested in rebuilding one. I don't know if anyone cares about this or if this is a repost. I got this info from the prosis database at my college today during my engine rebuilding course, I already have my engine rebuilt so I was just checkin engine specs and helping other people. Also, the engine shop has a 3sge and two 3sgte's as demo engines. I am eventually going to rebuild a 3sgte and swap it into my celi, but for now my project is a 69 buick skylark that I am swapping a 425 olds big block and th400 trans into (360 hp and 465 lb.ft. of torque....stock biggrin.gif ) anyways, i'll shut my big mouth now and post some of the info, if you need more specs on any other engines, let me know.

Basically, this is how an underdrive pulley like this works: by the pulley being lightweight and having a smaller diameter the motor does not have to work as hard to power your accessories, thus increasing your horsepower. According to ASP this pulley showed an 8 hp gain on the dyno. I will take $85 for it.

I am selling the ASP underdrive pulley that I bought for the 7A-FE. It was never put on. I bought it for $125 shipped. I have the receipt and I am willing to sell it for $100 shipped. I need money for my engine swap. (i'll also throw in the alternator and a/c belts no extra charge)

You could always put together a turbo kit using parts from another car. I recentley bought an entire turbo setup off of a 92 eclipse. With a little modification this will hook up beautifully to my 7A-FE biggrin.gif

make sure you use a torque wrench when putting them in. they have to have the right amount of torque on them (check your manual) i believe that it is 13 ft. lb's, at least it was for my 97 st. also be sure not to cross thread the plugs, that will leave you in a big mess. i think the gap is .032", check to make sure.

having an attorney helps a lot. they generally can get your fine reduced and shorter supervision (at least in illinois). 3 tickets, 4 accidents, and my record is totally clean. but if you know an attorney who can help you out for relatively cheap, go for that. i am lucky...i have legal connections! btw, if anyone needs to get out of a ticket in illinois i can help

Ahhhh...it is nice having your father as a criminal defense attorney and your uncle as a judge...i got a ticket for 70 in a 35 and didn't even have to go in front of the judge, it was dismissed. my brother got stopped in wyoming one time for going 105 in a 75 and was let off with a warning. my advice, make some legal connections wink.gif
