Hi guys, need some 15mm spacers for the front and maybe 20mm for the rear, these spacers on ebay look perfect for the job , has anyone bought them from this seller , if so do they do the job?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15MM-HUB-CE...sQ5fAccessories

iv just linked to the 15mm spacers but they also do 20mm.

Gave it a wee wash and Wax today biggrin.gif forgot how good it was to do all the work and stand back and admire nice shiney black paint work.

Even though im using a dslr to take the pics they still dont look as good as i would have liked, seems its very hard to take a good picutre of a black car, will have to get some filters for my lens to see if that helps.

Couple of mods bought

1st up Gen 7 seats, cant wait to get them in , they look 100 times better that the standard interior

Next up Volvo s60 washer jets, these are a straight swap for the standard jets, the difference is that instead of the crappy 2 jets of water these s60 ones give out a fan of water.

you can see a how to on celica-club.co.uk

Wow, certainly a lot done in one day. Congratulations! biggrin.gif

What exactly do you mean by 7GC interior...I know the wheel swaps over, but are you talking about seats as well?

Yeah talking about the seat, a good few guys on Celica-club.co.uk have got them in their 6's, all thats need is to swap the brackets from the 6 seats and weld them or bolt them to the 7 runners.

QUOTE (Rusty @ Nov 1, 2009 - 6:13 AM) *
very tidy, clean lines, the other non space saver wouldn't happen to be a gt4, would it? (T125/70D17)

nice job on the brakes, not too ott. Do you know if they where powercoated?

more interior & engine bay pictures next.

could be a GT4 space saver as the guy had just bought a GT4 so probaly swapped them over.

Brakes are just painted m8, they are starting to chip as you can see he used to have them painted gold, will get that sorted in the spring.

QUOTE (2bcelica @ Nov 1, 2009 - 7:00 AM) *
any pics of the engine? what kind of engine is in this beautiful thing

Engine is the 3rd Gen 3S-GE, its soooo clean i will get some pics when the weather gets better, cant take any credit though as it was like that when i bought it.

Well guys i got me a new car biggrin.gif , couldnt resist the chance to get another Black one.

Drove 270 miles to see it and came home with his very nice Black GT.

Service Station on the way home with a very big smile on my face biggrin.gif

Today i got changing a few things.

First up was to swap the JDM's from the white Celica

The car had a space saver but wasnt very space saving in went the space saver from desmond, in the pic you can see the difference.

I also swapped the parcel shelf, back boot trim and GT4 strut brace.

Then swapped over the HID's

Next up was the interior

Changed the clock to blue , installed stereo, also swapped the cubby hole over this meant i had to drill a hole on the gear surround for the alarm led, also got the silver dial trim over and the blue wide angle led bulbs

Last up was to de-tango the side repeaters, replaced the amber bulbs with amber leds

doesn't sound like much work but was at it all afternoon, if the weathers ok tomorrow i'll swap the halo plugs over and maybe swap the door cards.

Not got that much planned for this one as Jimmy has done all the big mods, biggest thing i have planned is Gen 7 interior, oh and put Desmonds boot on it with the GT4 blocks and 2 post spoiler biggrin.gif

Earlier today i swapped the wheels from my other Celica

I’m a bit stumped as the wheels that were on it are ET38 and the new wheels are et42, I thought great i will just get 4mm spacers from freaky parts and they will look the same as before, well I measured and it’s just doesn’t add up, at the closest point to the wheel arch the fronts were 14mm and the rears 21mm the new wheels you would expect to be roughly 4mm more but no, the fronts are 27mm and the rears are 34mm, wtf is going on, 4mm spacers aren’t even going to make a dent in making them look closer to the wheel arches. No happy frown.gif

the white looks good but imo the black was 100000 times better kindasad.gif, as long as your happy tho!

couldn't agree more, if i could find someone willing to swap with a Black Gen 6 in the same condition i would seriously consider it.

I do prefer the old wheels but they are past it, had them 8 years, they are heavy and a tad buckled, the car was no fun to drive with them on due to vibration, i think this was mostly caused by the rear tyres as they were more egg shaped that round lol, the car is sooo smooth now with not 1 hint of vibration.

i do plan on changing the colour of the new ones to ether white or a nice bright silver, if i get another Black Gen 6 then i would keep them Black.

well its been a while, 2 years since i last modded.

got new wheels,17" Kei Racing RSS and 4 virtualy brand new tyres, only down side is the et42 offset, my last wheels were et35 (both 7" wide), didnt think 7 mil would make that much difference but it does, will get spacers at a later date.

Here's the pics, taken with my phone so not the best , will add beter ones tomorrow if im not to hungover.

Here is how it used to look

and how it looks now

Still love the look of the old set but there past it now frown.gif

Just got to wash the car now lol, and lower it.

well finally got somewhere, NIPPARTS brake pads are ****E!!! and i bet the discs will turn out that way as well.

no matter what i tried i couldn't get the outside pad to make full contact with the discs, cleaned everything i could, pistons and sliders both moving fine so no seizing, tried filing some meat of the pad but that didn't help, the pad was sitting at an angle and i think it was the back plate that was slightly out, bit the bullet and bought some quality blueprint pads and problem solved, just comparing the 2 makes is like night and day, you just have to look at the blueprints to see they are in a different league to nipparts quality wise.

buy cheap buy twice

going to replace the fronts with blueprints once the mot is done and i get paid, just don't trust them now.

when i had the last Celica i wouldn't have thought of putting cheaper brakes on but with a house and wife to be now im not allowed to spend what i used to frown.gif , so, it wasn't my fault it was Jans. Always blame the woman

having a bit of a look about im starting to think iv been sent the wrong rear discs, there is 2 discs for the gen 6 , pre facelift >08/95 and facelift 08/95> , i bought them from buypartsby and phoned them to make sure i had added the right discs to the order, the guy confirmed i had, the parts number is J3312032 08/95> so 95 onwards, now looking at japarts.co.uk they have that part number as >08/95 prefacelift , from what i can gather the only difference is that the disc is 1mm thinner, 9mm instead of 10mm for the prefacelift.

has anyone got access to the nipparts parts catalogue?? been looking for it online but not having any luck.

well today i took the anti squeal pads off (completely) and cleaned every bit of the brake callipers and carriers , even took out the bits that the pads sit in and gave them a good going over, was surprised at the amount of crap i was able to clean off, put everything back on and there was an instant improvement, took the car out and the brakes were loads better, better than the were with the old brakes.

i still have a little prob though , the outside rear pads are still not making full contact with the discs (inside pads are fine, see pics) the callipers aren't seized as the wheels spin freely and got Jan to sit in the car and slowly apply the brake while i spun the rear wheels, and they don't get very hot after a drive so no dragging, is this just a case of the rears needing a bit of time to wear in as they don't do much of the braking??

hi guys, I'm putting my car up the 1/4 next weekend to see if I can improve in my 14.08 seconds.

I've sorted the boost and I've also took the spoiler off. Looks a bit different !

Does anyone know how much the spoiler off will help, time wise.

Cant you guys read?????

its a GT4 without the High spoiler , kind of makes sense now does it????

the last time i was up at Crail i took the GT4 spoiler off my GT thinking it would help, didn't make the slightest bit of difference lol

good luck m8 you will need it with that place, everytime i have been up there the timing gear has fecked up some way or another, did over 20 runs the last time and only recorded 11. will never be back.

no didn't bleed them guys, as they felt fine with the old discs and pads i didn't think they would need bleeding as i wasn't doing anything that would allow air into the system.

and yeah i cleaned the brake discs with brake cleaner, made sure there were squeaky clean lol

Hi guys

My MOT runs out on fri frown.gif (yearly inspection in the UK) , i knew the brakes needed done so bought front and rear discs and pads, now the brakes were working fine but after replacing them last night they are now poo, they feel a tad spongy and when i got back from the test drive both fronts were smoking.

Below are pictures of the inside of the old discs, as you can see they are a tad rusty where they shouldn't be , is this a sign of seized pistons?? the sliders were all free and the pistons did go back in all be it not so easy (only had a screw driver).

drivers front

passenger front

all 4

this is how the new disks, as you can see the rears arent doing much and the 1 front discs is still score free near the hub

ns rear

os rear

os front

can i really have 4 seized callipers?? they worked fine before i changed the discs

or could it be that i haven't pushed the pistons on the callipers back far enough, if so what size of g clamp do i need to buy??

the front pads all had 2 anti squeal pads each and the rear had 1 per pad, my last celica never had any and never squealed.

im just a tad stumped as i did this with my last celica (a few times) without any trouble..

so HELP lol

tbh i flip from being happy with the white to wanting to go back to black, at the moment im going to stick with the white, mechanically its in a1 condition so im a bit dubious about changing in case i get a lemon.
