Very unusual problem with a 1998 gt . My car was runninig hot and i pulled over and sure enough my radiator fans were not coming on. I replaced the relay to fan # 1 and same problem still accured. Next I checked the engine coolant temperature sensor located on the lower portion of radiator and when the ignition is on and the sensor is unplugged the fans come on. I then replaced the coolant temperature sensor
and the same thing happened. If sensor is plugged in the fans will not come on but if it is left unplugged the fans run constantly as long as the ignition is on. Does anyone know where the problem might be. Also does anyone know if it is fan #1 fan #2 or fan #3 relay that controls the radiator fans. Tahnks for the time and help it is greatly appreciated

If I'm not mistaken the bore size on the 3s and 5s are the same 86; I am under the impression the that the stroke is what is different and that is when you take into account the head. So the pistons should work for you but the connecting rods and bearings are where you may run into problems. Hope this helps.

The head from a st205 and st165 are infact different. If I am not mistaken it has to due with the intake and exhaust ports being of different shape. The 1 st gen has large almost rectangular shaped ports with the 2nd and 3rd gen having samller oval shaped ports. Between the st205 and the st185 the differences have to due with the valve shims and their placement. Hope this helps.

well after a few hours of work I found the problem Kinda. The cigarette lighter pulls 0.5 volts when the car is off regarless wether the fuse for the cig/rad is in or not. The only catch is the when the plug to the clock is unplugged it no longer pulls a charge.Weird huh. Well so I though that if I left the clock unplugged then ther would be no problem However when I let my car sit over night it wouldn't start again. Any suggestions? Any help would be appriciated.THX

Hello All,

I have a problem, when my car is turned off my battery drains it will start if it only sits for a couple hours but it is noticable that the battery is not fully charged. If the car sits over night however it needs to be jump started. I've already checked all the basics and have also disconnected the battery overnight to see if the battery just wasn't retaining a charge. It started fine the next morning; So the battery holds a charge. I thought I had the issue narrowed down to the stereo/cig lighter because when I removed the corresponding fuse then let the car sit overnight the car started fine the next morning but since then it has not started when removing the fuse and having the car sit overnight. So do you guys have any tips on how to figure out where current is being drewn from? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

fist off I would check the fuses-you should have a fuse in the power/hot wire withinn six inchecs of your battery-if not you should put one there;second I would check to see if the remote/power antenna wire going to your amp is caring a charge a test light or multi-meter will work for that and of course check the fuses in the amp-hope this helps

That is my understading also but I wanted to see if anyone had pics of a GT-4 hood on a domestic car with the domestic bumper. I don't really like the GT-4 bumper and would much more like to have erebuni shogun front end but am concered about the gap that would be created and wanted a visual for it before I decided to go ahead with that idea.
