wow you guys make me consider not buying it. and like some other people, ive been waiting forever for this new album too

I'd hold off on buying until you've heard it. The only decent song is the one that's been on the radio prior to the release. It's a completely different style of music than everything else they've put out before. I'm a big fan, so it's hard for me to say it, but I'm really not a fan of this cd.

What a let down. Been waiting on this for years, only to go get it and find out that it's crap.

Morals and ethics aside, you might want to double check to make sure your tags are up to date. If they do have video, or can prove within policy that you in fact did not pay, it doesn't take long to go back and correct their records.

I'd hate to think I was given a break, only to be stopped six months later for any number of infractions possible (expired tags even), then have to pay the original parking tickets, a late fee, and any possible tickets resulting from said traffic stop up to and including having invalid registration stickers on the tag.

So instead of paying the original $285 or whatever, now you're up to possibly a few grand depending on your attitude and how bad of a day the officer is having.

That would suck.

Just had a similar problem with my car. Long story short, the crank sensor broke and was sending wrong signals to the engine. Car is at the toyota dealer right now getting fixed because I don't have the time or the tools to even get to the crank sensor.

Originally thought my problem was with my starter or voltage regulator. Eh, such is life.

Well, I love my 97 st coupe. It will out run my friends 94 civic dx auto 4-door and another friend's 95 ex 5 speed manual with i/h/e. But, I'll take my 05 RSX-S over the celica any day.

The celica is a great daily driver. It's reliable, get's decent gas milage, looks good, and will get you from point A to point B without any worries. The Type S, in no way a pure speed demon, is decently quick and has a lot more goodies to play with.

Like someone said, you can't really "race" in a stock 6gc. My 6gc takes twice as long to get to 60 assuming I'm flooring it, than it takes to get the rsx-s to 80 mph. Besides, I've never gone 130 mph in my celica.

Not all honda/acura driver's are retards. Just because I own one doesn't mean I take it out looking to race every car next to me on the road. I'm more inclined to "race" in the celica just for the sheer amount of amusement it gives me when I actually come across something slower.

Do what you want, it's your car and your money. However, let your gf know that you gave her opinions serious thought and will remove them if she is right.... ha ha

Personally, I'd save the money. All these little projects are nice in the short term, but in the long term the money could be spent more wisely. I wish I would have invested half as much as I did into my celica. I'd have at least another 3-5 months paid off on my RSX-S, and my payments are %553 a month.

But hey... it is your money, and if it makes you happy do it. You only live once smile.gif

QUOTE(Terzin1 @ Oct 10, 2005 - 11:24 PM)
some advice. Judges take the law very technically, whats written is the law.  If it says you were "exceeding the posted speed", go find the definition of "exceeding the posted speed" in the civic library and copy it.  If you did not commit even a single part of that definition, you should get off scott free because technically you did not commit the crime.  There is no committing part of a crime, you either did or didnt.  Do you see what I am saying

ROFL!.... You have posted some halarious crap in the past, but this is one of the best.

Let's do math for marines.... if the speed limit is 35 mph, and my speedometer is displaying 40 mph... that means.... hold on, let me think...

I got it... I was "exceeding the posted speed."

Why do scrots like you always have to try and find a loop hole? Is taking responsibility for your actions against your ethics or something?

Celicaca....more power to you. You know what you did wrong, and you're not trying to place blame on someone else or find a loop hole. There's nothing wrong with asking for advice on how to come out as best you can, even if you did do something wrong. Life is about making mistakes. It takes a real man to own up to them and accept the results.

I'm a little late to offer helpful advice, but I do hope everything came out at least satisfactory for you. Good luck and be safe!

Color probably wouldn't matter, but it depends. My dad's a cop where I live and he works a part time guarding some millionairs hanger at the local airport... guy has a bunch of goodies.... 3 porsche's, 2 racing boats, 2 racing motorcycles, a gulfstream II, another smaller plane.... and a lot of classic and 80's cars in the process of being repaired.

There's one car in particular that they're having trouble getting titled b/c the veh has two vins.... non of the cops will sign the VIN verification b/c of it and b/c the veh has vin plates plated on in places it shouldn't....

If you find a cop who doesn't know that much about cars, you could probably get it signed off. Assuming it was from the same type of veh... just have to make sure any of the vin's don't return with a hit on them... then you're fooked... so it's up to u

Getting older has it's benefits... insurance just dropped $400 a year b/c they took off inexperienced driver surcharge....

97 Celica ST $106/6 months
05 Rsx-S $1300/6 months and worth every penny

20 years old... one claim under uninsured motorist...some guy decided to go over an embankment and almost total the celi... oh, and no tickets smile.gif

Almost brings a tear to your eye. Just further proof that criminals are stupid. Cracked windshield and broken tail lights lead to so many arrests... not to mention the speeding and no seatbelt. You can definitely tell she's had experience w/police before though... her license was suspeneded and she's got an attitude.

Mad props to Officer McNevin.

CAI if you really want to do something... at least you can hear a difference in the sound and it'll make you think the car is performing better...

Speaking from personal experience.... I'd say save the $. It'll come in handy when you need to do routine maintenance. Water pump, timing belt, other drive belts, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, oil changes, ect...

You could do all the work yourself above and just pay for the parts and that $150 will go a lot farther and will be better spent. Increase the longevity of your car, help performance, and give you more satisfaction.

Just a thought... I remember when my clutch went, timing belt needed replacement, and had the water pump changed. It all happened at the same time...right when I was in transition between jobs and was tight on cash. An extra $150 would have been nice at that time. Just remember unexpected things happen at bad times and that money might be sorely missed if you spend it on something that'll make your 17 second car into a 16.89 second car if you're lucky.

aight... thats what i was planning on getting.  What do you think the car could do in the 1/4 at 6psi my is a 5sp

a guess maybe 5-6 psi 15 mid to high not sure not really into the whole 1/4 mile thing at 9-10 it will beat stock rsx type s by a car length

Better yet...don't turbo the celica, use the money you'd spend on the turbo as a down payment and go get a type S. wink.gif Aftermarket is great for the type s and it's so much more fun to drive than the celica...

That sux dude... good luck.

Personally, I just don't think the 6gc is worth the time and effort to make it go faster, sound better, handle better, ect...

It gets me from point A to point B with no hassle, great gas milage, with little noise. Don't ever get it fast enough to need better handling... the cost to get it to go faster compared to the gains is crazy. The car isn't a performance car... it's an economy car that looks sporty and has a decent amount of get-up. Great daily driver...

That sux dude. What's the name of the dealer? I know it's hit or miss with dealerships... I got screwed at Cobb County Toyota, but Marietta Toyota where I'm at has been great. Usually pay around $17 for an oil change, and they've gone ahead and fixed things w/out question when I have problems that they worked on recently at no extra cost...the way it should be. They're more out of my way to get to, but the quality of work and the customer service more than make up for it.

Hope it works out for ya man...

Be scientific: Flip a coin....(is scientific a word...oh well...)

ne way, I'd say girl one. So she's not his preferred body type...big deal. It's all about the whole package. Obviously he's attracted to her in some way physically or it wouldn't be a question of who to choose. What guy hasn't been attracted to some girl but didn't say anything or downplay the issue b/c their buddies would rag on them at one point in their life... especially when their is another girl in the picture who is considered hot by everyone?

I think he's leaning towards girl one, but looking for someone to agree with him on the choice.

Besides, girl two and the type will always be there...

I don't like it either. The only only color I've seen them in is orange... and I just don't like orange cars. They might be better looking in a diff color, but not by much.

Usually get around 375 miles and that's with leaving about 2+ gallons in the tank. Mostly city driving... one of the reason's I'm probably going to keep the celica. RSX-S at premium adds up...keep the celi on regular.

The Turner case was all over the national news and the trial was aired on court tv. She was a 911 operator who married a police officer. The police officer ended up dead for no reason and his family and friends all had a feeling that she was responsible.

Turns out she was cheating on him and got married soon there after to another guy who was a cop in another place shortly after her husbands death. Well, this guy ends up dead under similiar circumstances.

Time goes by, they find poison in the 2nd husband. Then they dig up the first husband and find the same thing. She killed them both with anti-freeze. She was a horrible person. If you know anything about it or watched what the families and friends had to say or the trial you'd know.

Just kind of odd how things work. A few months ago when I was in training Dateline came in and filmed a bunch of stuff for tonights episode. Well, I forgot all about it. It's freaky b/c I got sent home from work b/c I was sick and they don't want everyone else getting sick.

So, I'm flipping through all the channels and on NBC I see what I think is the place I work...so I go back, and it is. They're talking about the Lyn Turner case. I've never met her, and she never worked in the same building as I do now, but I do work with people that did. Nobody really talks about it, and it's not my place to bring it up, so I just let it be.

I found it funny that they spent about a full day in the 911 center and the only thing they aired was a picture of a phone console and one of the few people w/a deep southern draw saying "Cobb County 911"...

Don't know, kind of odd seeing the place I work, the precinct my dad works at, and a lot of the people talk to everyday on the radio on national tv...

BTW, if you saw it, they made us out to look very bad.

I've got the Haynes one... it's got a few helpful things and was really helpful when I first started learning about my celica. However, it's not the best in the world... but still better than nothing. Never seen the chilton book on the celica, but I've got one for 2 other cars in the family and I'd pick those over haynes.

WOWSER-RIFFICK, this boy has one of them SPECIAL celica engines, the kind where the revolutions of the engines completely stop when the car is at a complete stop. Absolutly amazing technology these gosh-darn days.
