FYI - the reason why there are not many UK members is we can get these 2 and 3 gauge A pillar pods (then select the Custom Parts link on the left of the page and then the A Pillar Pods link at the top of the middle page) |

QUOTE My advice is think real hard what style you really want and just stick to that. You don't want to keep buying stuff only to change it out again. Don't cheap out on parts, get the best the first time. The only reason why people spend a lot is because you keep buying the same stuff over and over. My best advice - keep researching, that is the best decision you can make first. I have a lot of spare parts I keep around - some never used. +1 Very wise words. |

Current retail price of all parts is @£2000 (@$2900) + shipping from Japan + customs. I got it for £1200 ($1700) picked up - still alot of money but worth every penny - it's all pre-drilled, fitment looks perfect and the quality is superb |

Well as you may, or may not, be aware I've been after a specific body kit for my GT4. Well a couple of weeks ago and opportunity presented itself and I snapped at it. This is what I picked up: Yep, its a genuine C-ONE full body kit I also have a full set of JDM projectors, JDM late spec rear lights, clear side repeaters and wolfie clear front indicator lenses. Can't wait to get it all fitted. |

Upgrading to 17" or 18" is not an issue. BUT you must making sure that your rolling diameter, as far as tyre size is concerned, is within certain parameters. Check out this Tyre Size Calculator site |

Interesting one this...not quite sure what "2 step" is. What I do know is, a standard GT4 has both boost cut and fuel cut. These are predefined saftey settings in the ECU. However, what you can get is a rev limiter which basically cuts the ignition. See Bee*R Rev Limiter/Power Builder AFAIK this is used in turbo drag cars to allow turbo spool up (without blowing your engine up) for a better launch. A tell tale sign that a car has a rev limiter fitted is popping, banging and flames spitting out the back of the exhaust on high revs. I may of course be completely off the beaten track |

Just be careful... OBX are well known manufacturer of parts, which generally means top quality. Ebay headers may be cheaper, but may be made of cheaper material and more likely to crack under strain, pressure, heat. I guess it's a case of you get what you pay for. |

QUOTE I've heard that the bonnet struts are very powerful and work great for a stock (heavy) st204/2 hood but might be too powerful for the lightweight st205 hood. Can you confirm ? Yes, the only thing with this kit is that, as it is designed for the Celica ST and GT models which have a lot heavier bonnet, when fitted to a 205 (ally) or CF bonnet it is quite powerful, that is, after lifting the bonnet up over 12" in height it literally flips up - so mind your chin I just hang onto the bonnet and ensure it eases up smoothly. QUOTE Would installing just one side be enough to support the 205 hood ? or would 2 be nessessary ? I know someone that installed just one but there bonnet flexed and twisted so I would recommend fitting 2. QUOTE QUOTE is this an ebay deal or something else or better yet what did you type into ebay, cuz i typed in celica hood strut and it just does hood strut QUOTE I've been wanting these for a while now. Where did you buy yours? Got them off Ebay, see Bonnet Struts made in Taiwan |

How To – Mounting Bonnet Struts Tools:
10mm socket 10mm spanner Screwdriver Time:@20-30 minutes Here is the package I received. Lift bonnet and use the bonnet stay to keep it up. Start at the right side of the engine bay (as you face the engine from in front of the car). Although instructions were provided, I found it easier by doing the following: Procedure:
2. Attach the replacement bolt/pivot to the bonnet strut 3. Replace the retaining clip Note: It’s a lot easier doing it this way because, once mounted, you will not be able to get that clip in. 4. Undo the bolt in the wing that holds the rubber bonnet stop (10mm socket) 5. Place the 2 washers (supplied) into position and then screw the bolt/pivot into position (10mm spanner) Note: Be careful not to strip the thread, it’s a little fiddly so just take your time and be patient 6. Remove the retaining clip from the other end of the bonnet strut 7. Attach the replacement plate/pivot to the bonnet strut 8. Replace the retaining clip Note: It’s a lot easier doing it this way because, once mounted, you will not be able to get that clip in. 9. Remove the upper bolt of the bonnet hinge (12mm socket) 10. Place the plate/pivot (not marked – see note below) into position and using the original bolt secure in place (12mm socket). You may need to lift and support the bonnet in order for the original bolt to locate properly. Note: Make sure that you have the right plate/pivot for that side. One plate/pivot had a sticker on it marked ‘R’, the other had no sticker or marking. The ‘R’ refers to the right BUT is as you sit in the car looking forward. The following picture shows one reason why I attached the plate/pivot to the strut first. 11.That’s one side done. 11. Repeat steps 1 – 10 for the other side. Note: The only difference I found was that I had to remove the washer jet tube located by the bonnet hinge. 13. Once you have done both sides, you can remove the bonnet stay. It’s retained in the slam panel by a round plastic clip. • Manoeuvre the stay towards you • Wiggle it around a bit and it should easily pop out, leaving the round plastic clip in the slam panel • Remove the plastic clip by easing it out with a screwdriver. 14. Job done. |

Should be able to help out with a 'how to' on refurbing rims in about 2/3 weeks time. I bought some late spec OEM GT4 rims which were a bit tired and kerbed. Friend of mine did his rims and they came out superb. So I gave him mine to do....he's in the process of refurbing them at the moment. He's going to do a write up of what he did, along with before and after photos. I'll post here when I have the info. |

UPDATE... Done the accenting on the lenses: Removed the partition and sprayed the units: Next I'll remove the masking tape which was protecting the mastic, stick in the oven to heat up the mastic and then fit lenses. |

QUOTE Have a look half way down this page and you'll see photo of the inside chromed with the Partition Removed I'd forgot about this thread with the Whiskas and the miffed pussy cat. Sprayed the units the other night Mind you having looked at the pic, you're right it does look better. So will see if I can carefully cut and remove the partition with a scaple. Still got some paint left so that's cool |

QUOTE I really wouldn't recommend using the grill - too much risk of damaging the backing for my liking. The oven isn't that scary, but if you're worried, I'd use a hairdryer for this stage. Words of wisdom...thanks - oven or hair dryer it is then. QUOTE Do take the time to poke down the mastic into the recess - you can use a small flat blade screwdriver dampened in water to stop it sticking. Already did that after taking the lense out and while the mastic was still hot and pliable. QUOTE For the ultimate effect, removing the unecessary partition before spraying completes the look. Best done with Dremel but can be done with care and a very sharp craft knife/scalpel. I was wondering how that was done...Cheers QUOTE Because Wolfie (Richard) makes them with care. They look so factory. +1 on that. Plus the quality is excellent. |
