Alright, that's what it thought, but it slides in the snow so much like a rear-wheel, plus as already mentioned the first two generations were rear wheel drives. |

THe only thing about the Xtant one you recommended is that its 50W @ 2ohms and 25W @ 4ohms VS the 140W @ 2ohms and 70W @ 4ohms of the comprably priced RF 551X. How much extra wattage would the Xtant be putting out? Otherwise, we've had a few RF Punch amps before and been satisfied with how they sounded, so whatever i can get a better deal on would be my best bet. |

Ok, well $ is short and since i wouldnt be paying for the comps; just the two-way, i think i'll stick with the B.A's. Also, are you implying that Fosgates are bad amps or just that there are better? because its not like they are bad amps when compared to say sony and sorts like that. Plus with the comps, wouldnt you want more than 50 RMS watts pushing them? they're rated for 20-200; so wouldnt having 65-80 RMS watts and not pushing the amp as hard be a little better or is that off base? Thanks, Amory |

Also, are the BA PS 6 Comps a good set of speakers? i would be getting them as an x-mas present so i'm not paying for the comps, it'd just be for the 2-way. |

which speakers should i replace the stock speakers with? I am fairly sure i'm getting a Boston Acoustic 6 comp set handed down to me and then i'm looking at a 4 channel fosgate amp but what about the 2 rears? They're 6 1/2" but looks that you could fit up to 8" by the enclosing size? Recomendations for the back two? Playing hard rock, NOT rap and am using an alpine 9807 head. Thanks to all, Amory |

You misunderstood my question: Can i put in a Fosgate 45.2 Punch amp WITHOUT HAVING TO PUT NEW SPEAKERS IN. I.E. ---> would it be too much for them I know you would have to hook the speakers up to the amp... |

or what about this: Fosgate Punch 301S * RMS Power: 75 W X 2 @ 4 Ohms * RMS Power: 150 W X 2 @ 2 Ohms |

How much of a wattage increase would you want then? Like would 100W rms @2ohms be more in line? Also, if the comps run at 3ohms, do i just estimate somewhere between the 2 and 4 ohm ratings? thanks, amory |

hey so the B.A's are nice? i just chose them because my dad is upgrading and would rather give thme to me for xmas then to go to ebay with them. So near what power rating would we be talking about? as the celica is a small car so i dont want to create it to be so loud you cant think in the car. Also the 20-400 is peak NOT rms, correct? |

The audio king guy said that the 8112 wasn't the model they had listed for a 94 celica thoguh...weird..either way its $12 |

Alright thanks, i will be using the Alpine's power for now so i will look for a Metra 8112 for the wiring harness....and just to clear this up, do or do i not need a "mounting kit" to be able to mount the Alpine or will the alpine literally be able to slide right in? Thanks |

http://www.audiooutfitter.com/cgi-bin/stor...ore/708112.html Thats it, correct? Are there any audio stores that would sell this or would i be better off ordering it now and getting 2day shipping or something like that. |

doesnt the drawer/pocket underneath the stock system stay in? But there's no need for this mounting thing that my dad insists on? |

Got my Alpine 9805 today and am gonna replace the stock 1 unit high GT radio. Just wondering: 1) is there an internal amp in that version? 2) what extras do i need to put in the amp? my dad insists that i need an "ampersand" aftermarket mounting kit, and then some internal harness because he doesnt want to clip wires. Does anyone know where i could find either of those if they're neccessary? Thanks, Amory |

in giving everything some thought thought, it makes more sense for me to just put the alpine in now and have it power the stock speakers, b/c that'll still be more power than the stock radio is feeding them. And then put in an amp at the same time as replacing the speakers, as i won't be able to get the speakers from my dad until around x-mas time. |

Thanks for your help guys, that website is very usefull too! I don't know if i'd replace the rear speakers if i didn't have to. Would it sound good enough sitting in the front two seats with a fosgate powering the front and the alpine head powering the rear speakers and then doing something like fade a little to the back/turn up the fosgate to compensate type of thing. If i could get away with that then i wouldn't replace the rear speakers. I am not going to use a sub, so i wouldn't need a 4 ch. for that. The only reason i'd consider a 4ch. would be if it would really sound that much better to have the rear speakers powered by 40W@4 Ohms RMS or 72W@2 Ohms RMS from a 4ch. fosgate vs. the 23W RMS from the alpine. But a few have commented elsewhere that that would blow out the stock speakers or push them too much etc.. The front speakers will be the Boston Acoustic Pro 6.5 Comp set which recommend a 20-400watt power amp, which is a pretty broad range, but i couldnt find their actual wattage ratting. One last thing, they are made to run at 3 ohms, but most amps are rated for 2 and 4, can you still run say a fosgate punch series amp through 3 ohms? Thanks, Amory |

One other question, for about $15 more i can get a 4 channel vs. 2 channel amp. But i'm running very low on cash and wouldnt be able to swap out the rear speakers. If you had to either power the 2 rear speakers (i have a 6 speaker system) with the 23rms watts from the alpine or from about 55rms watts from a 4 channel fosgate which would you choose? and would the fosgate overpower/blow out the rear speakers? thanks again everyone, Amory |

Alright, i just bought an alpine 9805 head unit to replace the stock GT tape/radio player. Anyways, i will be adding some form of a RF Punch Amp in in the near future and was just wondering if me and my dad were to put the head in, would it make a differance in finding a used amp to put in now, or is that something that would not be made easier or more difficult if i didnt put it in when i put in the head? Also, how much wattage should i be looking at? for xmas im getting a front component set that'll be powered by the Fosgate(im thinking either the 45.2, 55.2 or 75.2?) and then use the Alpine to power the rear two. Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks, Amory |

Hey, just bought a 94 Celica GT as my first car and i'm looking to put in an alpine 9807 and after that look into putting my dads fosgate amp in as well as replacing the stock speakers. Does anyone have ANY info on the current speakers that i would have in the car? I cant find anything on the net or in the manuals i have. I just need to know like how big they are and their impedence etc.. Anyone? Thanks, Amory |
