Today I... Sold my Celica! It was my 2nd 6GC and I'm going to miss it. But the kid I sold it to will be a good owner and sounds as if he will get more done to it then I ever did. For the first time in 10 years I am not the owner of a 6GC but I needed something bigger to move to Cali with. Maybe someday I will buy another.

the factory mounts were stolen along with my old stereo. All I have is a hole there. I'm thinkin it may be time to visit a junk yard.

I've been having trouble recently finding a dash kit for my 95 Celica. I bought one at Walmart, after reading the instructions I found it worked for pretty much every 90's toyota except a Celi.. I got one at Fry's electronics and it was the same thing except more expensive. I went to audio express and they showed me their book that said it was not available and would have to custom fabricate one, likely would cost hundreds of dollars.

I've had a couple stereos stolen from this Celi and my previous 94 coupe and I didn't have an issue finding a kit in the past. Anyone have a recommendation they know will work for a 6gc based on their own experience. I'm afraid to buy one online that wont work for a 6GC.

Any help would be appreciated. I'd prefer not to have to Fabricate something on my own..

Thanks batman, that did the trick. I'm glad it was something so simple since my car had some previous electrical issues.

the buzzing is the flasher relay. It's located right behind the interior fuse box. Check it to see if it's wet or just may need to be replaced.

Thanks, I'll try that first.

Hey, I've been having some issues with my turn signals.

Basically there is a loud Buzzing noise coming from the fuse box next to the steering wheel. When I pull the Turn signal Fuse the noise is gone but then the turn signals obviously don't function. Another thing is when I Use the turn signal the noise goes away until the turn signal is no longer in use.

Also, when Its especially Hot out (i live in az) the noise tends to go away or occurs less frequently, otherwise its a constant buzzing.

I'm going to take a look at it on friday and try to figure it out but I was hoping to get some ideas or suggestions. Anyone ever experience something like this?

^ If it was done by the guy that worked on your car and he's a professional, and you think the damage occurred due to his fault...you should've reamed him a new one, I'm sure his business/employer would want to settle to avoid a suit.

Yeah, unfortunately he is more of an acquaintance who does work out of his landlords garage. I didn't notice it until the next day since it was on the passenger side... pretty sure he did it though.

I have a near identical scratch on my car.. pissed me off, especially since I think it was made intentionally by the guy working on my car because I got stuck at work late and was a little late bringing him some money.

The bad part is I knew it was in there when we were dating, I looked pretty hard for it but never bothered taking the extra step to take out the seat. i'm sure she'll appreciate getting that back, better late than never.

Question, how to I take off the dial on the driver seat so I can access the bolts?

I dont want to force it off and break it if theres a way to get it off.

edit: I was able to get the bolts, but would still like to get off the dial for cleaning purposes.

That is a pretty cool idea, I used to just put mine(before I lost it) in the trey under my deck and the cord comes out of a hole I drilled in the back of the trey. But accessing it wasn't as easy as it would be there. I thought About turning the lighter plug into a holder but never got around to looking into it.

Does anyone have the mesurments for this what-ever-you-call-it?
I want someting to be i perfect fit to the back door so that the stuff in the trunk don't make so much noise.
My guess is that this is a stock part.
If noone knows the exakt size, can you take some mesures and post them?

Tanks!
-Johan

What is this part called? My car didn't have one when I bought it.

Yeah my driver panel has indentation towards the window where my elbow rests when I drive, I mainly notice it when I'm cleaning, kind of annoying though.

The main thing I'd worry about is the chrome burning the hell out of me in these hot arizona summers.

Hey, I've got all my inserts painted a cherry red (similar to the outside of my car, slightly darker) but was looking to replace my inserts. I came across a black chrome dash kit for a 6gc on ebay that i thought looked pretty cool.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-CELI...sspagenameZWDVW

Was wondering if anyone had actually purchased this, or have any pics of this on an actual 6gc.

I've also seen other dash kits (brushed aluminum, faux wood ect.) Im not as interested in tose but it would be cool to see.

Definitely the Cup Holders suck, Lack of aftermarket parts/accessories, the back seat is small but I'm ok with that....

on mine personally I dislike the fact that I got a dent on the rear fender that was there when I bought it and the rims have got scratched up over the last 4+ yrs and some electrical issues.

I also used to have a 94 coupe, I always hated the rear on that thing. I've seen a few on here that resolved that with lip kits or modified body kits.

Ok. I just need to know one thing. Where on this car is the EGR temperature sensor located? There are so many speculations it makes my head hurt. I need to know where that thing is or what it looks like or something. Help.

if thats the same egr sensor i had to replace then it has to be accessed from below. not sure if its the same one though.

I got the check engine light to go away after I drove it around a bit after reseting it. I'm guessing that it was never reset at the shop.

as for the egr valve/cat converter..... would that not prompt the check engine light to display?

Hey Guys I've been trying to get my car through emissions but have had issues. Initially I failed all 3 pollutants tests. I had a check engine light 27 so I had the 2nd O2 sensor replaced. I also replaced a few other minor things (pcv valve, air filter, oil, ect). After this my check engine light still wouldn't go away but now when I test its just a constant blink. I took it to emissions anyways and passed HC and CO easily but I failed NOX by way more than the first testing.

First testing - 2.76 (passing is 2.0)
2nd testing - 4.91

Any Idea why it would be HIGHER now? and what the issue could be, wouldnt the EGR valve show up on the check engine testing if thats what it is.

Also any suggestions on the check engine light? I reset it by pulling the 15 amp efi fuse, then tried disconnecting the batery for a good 15 min. Is there anything else i could do?
