This will plug directly into our stock celicas wiring harness. You will have the trim the crap out of the dash surround though with a dremel. Can be a pain in the butt but the stereo does sound pretty nice smile.gif

The A/C has been working perfect until the other day driving on the highway it just shut off. Hasnt worked since. When i push the a/c button on, the magnetic clutch engages, compressor runs for about 3 seconds and shuts off making the a/c button light flash. Checked freon pressure, Checked wires, jumped the compressor and all that seems fine. What else...???

Here is what you do... Take the right size socket and get a torch. Heat that socket up and stuff it down the hole. Do it till you melt through the rubber and can get a grip on the spark plug. Worked for me smile.gif

awwwww im sorry to hear that man frown.gif insurance wont cover that?

Who would use insurance anyways? Youre going to at least have a 250$ deductable and you could get the window fixed for less than that probably.

Wrap a towel around a bat and jack up the car enough to get the bat between the tire and fender lip... lower the jack little by little while pushing the lip up inside the wheel well and continue to work your way around. Its easy and works fine. You will probably have to touch up alittle cause the paint may crack some if its not hot enough.

Do you like your celi better then?

A celica is much more practical and reliable than a 3000gt...especially a vr-4. A vr-4 is faster (obviously) and AWD will go through snow better but big whoop when i would probably be broke most the time anyways smile.gif You will get like 18mpg tops with a 3000gt around town, the handling really isnt any better than a 6gc, everything costs more for it, doesnt have as much hatch/trunk space and too much maintence. I wouldnt take a vr-4 as an only car....it could be a fun toy car if you are willing to spend the time and money to keep them going.

If you cant do the work yourself on the car you better be rich. For my old n/a 3000gt the previous owners were charged $1100 for the 60k timing belt maintence. The trannys are pretty crappy and expensive, the clutches dont last, lots seem to spin rod bearings...they are nice looking cars but can be a nightmare.

If the shaft is spinning then its not seated into the top strut mount properly.

17x8 +35 is a good setup for the 6gc. Tire size is up to you though. You can stretch a 215/45/17 or go with a 235/40/17. You "may" get slight rubbing in the rear depending on how low you are with a 235/40...not that big of deal just roll the rear fender lip in alittle. There has been pictures posted in this thread with this setup.

No its not normal! Its a bearing...whether it be the alternator, a/c compressor, tensioner or water pump pulley bearing thats for you or the mechanic to figure out.

For me it was my a/c compressor clutch pulley bearing. Replaced it and its quiet as new smile.gif

Spray some carb cleaner in it while its running. You will have to give it gas or it will die out.
