yeah, its not supposed to idle that high... its supposed to be in the 800-1k range... can anyone tell me where the vacccum line is supposed to be connected on the idle control valve? there are 2 ports, yet only one hose i believe that was connected to it from the egr diaphram, but i cant remember if it was on the top or bottom... ive tried both so far, and neither seem to have any effect on the idling issue i have... and i dont have any check engine lights coming on... anyone???

so ive got a 94 with the 7afe engine. recently, my egr diaphram went out, which i originally believed to be due to my catalytic converter. After taking everything apart, i found that it wasnt exactly my cat converter, but whatever that thing is attached to the bottom of the exhaust manifold. the material inside of it was clogging the pipe, which was causing my loss of power issues, and eventually my egr diaphram burning up. or at least im assuming, thank god it didnt ruin the motor. So after i fixed everything up, put it back together, the car runs and sounds great, with the exception of the idle... it will go from roughly 1.5k rpms to 2k rpms every few seconds, even after warm up. However, with gas, it accelerates fine and smooth, and i can hold the rpms to a set point with no issues. All my vaccum lines appear to be ok and connected, or at least the ones i messed with.

anyone have any ideas?

I was looking for someone to point me in the direction of like a how to, rewire my harness if im swapping my 94 st, to the st185 3sgte w/ac. I understand some people run businesses off these types of things on here, and i dont mean to take that business from them, however with my time constraints on this swap, its not exactly ideal for me to ship off both harnesses for over a week. so if anyone had any ideas on where to find this info, or if someone would be willing to sell me this info, that would be greatly appreciated.

Im still contemplating on buying a motor set from this import company where i live. The engines look really good, no damaged, and stored nicely. The swap set comes with ecu, un-cut complete harness, motor, turbo, intercooler, all manifolds and everything for 1000. I just wanted some tips on what else to look for to make sure it has before i purchase. Once again, im not 100 % sure on EVERYTHING that i would need from a clip if i went that route, so i just want some clarification.

I have an st, and have already sourced my tranny, drive-shaft, shift cables, and mounts. what would i be loosing with going to a motor set instead of a clip, and should i be looking for anything in specific that i might need for my swap.

from what ive heard is that the only "bad" experiences that people have is when the sea foam uncovers future problems that were going to happen anyways...

as far as most people can tell the 3sge and gt tranny are exactly the same, just check out your local yards to find a gt tranny

there arent as many interchangeable parts, plus you have to relocate a lot of things on the mr2 clip as opposed to the gt4... in the end its more cost effective to use the gt4 clip

id say get your bearings checked out, and try and get it to run as smooth as possible cuz nothing sucks worse than having a nice car you can drive cuz it needs work...

then maybe drop it and some wheels
