ok i got one,

well it was around 2 in the morning when i was driving back home from friends house. the road sometimes have police check ups to see if anyone's drunk. i drove near and was thinking these stupid cops are prob gonna try to give some tickets.

one cop stopped me, where they give people brochures on drunk driving, and then he was like "woa u have blue lights, pull over to the side." then the second cop came and asked me for my driver license and isuance.
im thinking my hyper white lights are perfectly legal, theyll just let me go when i argue.

i got out of my car to see why the hell the first cop says my lights are blue, and a-hole cops started yelling at me tell me to get inside my car. a few minutes later the second cop came giving me a ticket. i looked at the ticket and it says im driving with my headlights out. i got really mad and said my healights are working perfectly. the second cop thought to himself for a moment and asked me to turn my highbeams on. he then walked to the first cop, who told me to pulled over, and talked for a bit.

He came back realizing that he made a stupid ass mistake thiking my two middle highbeams were low beams and told me to go home. i asked him whats gonna happen to the ticket, he said he will void it.

so i drove home laughing my ass off thinking, these dumass cops should really know about cars before they pull anyone over. it is really sad to see how these dumb cops abuse their authority to earn a living.

QUOTE (defgeph @ Aug 5, 2004 - 5:48 AM)
you have to hook up 220 ohm resistors to each led......
they are not lighting up because ur  blowing them out. get new led's and the resistors hook up the resistors to the positve on the led's
you can get them at radio shack.

later man
DEF

thanx

ok, so i have to hook up the resistors to the leds to replace the stock leds also?
(the led we hook up to replace the stock leds works, just not when we turn on the headlights because the led does not seems to dim)

and also the holes for the stock bulbs (ones with green covers) does not indicate where the positives and negatives are, does it matter where i solder the leds or do i have to test it out to find the positives and negatives??

my friend and i tried to install led lights on his climate control. we switched the stock led orange lights to white leds. but the white led won't light up when he turn the lights on, is it because the led doesnt dim (when the lights are on, the stock led lights dims)?

also we have trouble installing the 5mm leds to switch the light bulbs with sockets. i know it'll be easier to use a 3mm led but we dont know where to get the 3mm ones. also we dont know where the positives and negatives are to replace the socket ones. can some one tell me how to install with the 5mm?? or where can i get 3mm leds??

maybe you can have a section for new comers and kids. that way itll seperate the groups a bit.

keep the off topic because a lot of bored people just wanna talk about random stuff while satying on this site

you can also post the link on the chatroom on the main page so people can click and discuss right away.

also i think it's cool if the site has all the collected 6gc images section, like the one 0re0 posted.

the site could also include picutres for the spec section and maybe the photocopied chilton manual for people to learn.

hehe well those are my stupid suggestions that ill think might help a bit

QUOTE (saleeka @ Jul 21, 2004 - 6:25 AM)
yes that works perfectly until the other insurance company who is paying to fix will not cover your car because they come to realise that the car has a swapped vin on it and that the car is not street legal, in which the case you are intitled to NOTHING seeing as you have a fraudulant insurance claim for a car that isnt supposed to be driven on public roads in the first place...

that's part of the risk you have to take i guess. but i think unless it is a serious accident, the cost of fixing will pretty much be the same. lets say fneder bender will be the same even if it's a gt4.
to reduce the risk, leave it in your garage like all those other show cars. use it as a sunday driver and show off your car to night cats

I have an answer to your problem of making it legal to drive on the streets, but not too many people have access to this. You may be able to with a good bribe, though wink.gif

Any licensed dealer in the United States has possession of several license plates with permanent tags that can be put on ANY car, ANYWHERE, without registration, VIN check, or anything. I have met one guy who imported his Evo V here when he moved from Japan on business. I was in Texas at the time for a family reunion and spotted it in a Walmart parking lot in San Antonio. I saw it was RHD, and I saw the guy walking toward it, so we talked some.

He basically said he put all his stuff in one container on a barge, all his personal items AND his car, and had it shipped to the FTZ in Mexico. The were no customs, so he could get it all off the boat with no problem. He had his brother in law, who is a trucker who frequently goes across the border, along with his wife, meet him at the port and they loaded his car and all his stuff into the trailer. They weren't checked by customs going back into Texas and he said it wouldn't have mattered anyhow, they would've just seen a bunch of personal items for a house since his car was covered and had stuff piled on top of it.

He had made a contact with a private dealer in Texas prior to shipping the car (his brother in law found one in desperate need of money), and arranged to pay him $2000 for the tag and his silence. He's had it on the road for a couple years now and has had NO problems whatsoever.

If any of you are able to get a plate, hook us all up wink.gif

hmmm, never heard of that, sounds like a great idea though, have to look into it.

yeah and too bad there isnt any insurance on that car either... good luck if you hit someone

hmm well restating again: couldn't you just rip the tag off a similar car in the states and tell them its hooked up?? like the celica for gt4 or lancer for jdm evo.
also you can just buy a inspection sticker. this way you can put insurance on it and no1 will ever know

yea toyota just decided to try vtec out..n i guess it wasn't all that..

vvti is a good engine, lotus elise uses it. damn can't wait till it comes out in the us. that car will kill

i have to second that.. vvti and vvti-l are great engines... some people here sound ljust like some people sounded with the 3s and 4a engines came.. out.. they just diddn't know the potential..

the elise also ways about 2000lbs

true, but if vvti doesnt have potential then they won't use it on a elise.
