I did a V6 swap in this car a few years ago. also converted to a manual. its all detailed in this thread.

The BEAMS is a fine engine, but for the same price you can get a 4th gen 3S-GTE.

when i did a 3rd gen swap, I didnt have any of the wiring for the OEM pump and relay. So I made my own. First i did the code 54 delete found here

then I ran my own wiring from the battery to a relay then to the pump, I used the 12V VC signal for my trigger, so when the car is running the pump is running.

QUOTE (VavAlephVav @ Feb 7, 2019 - 7:36 AM) *
If you are swapping into a 1994 OBDI car does that cause more problems with the 5th gen OBDII?

Would that make the 4th gen better for the older car or does it matter?
I also heard that the 5th gen doesn't have an oil cooler.

no, it wont be a problem at all, some extra wires will be added into the harness, but thats about it.

.032 to .034 is fine. if you want a simple copper plug, BKR5ES is a good plug

check the wire on the oil pressure sensor plug. its a single wire that gets a lot of abuse.

you are pretty much correct. the PCV has a check valve so it only lets vacuum air from the intake manifold through it. The intake manifold sucks air through the PCV into the intake. the other breather hose is crankcase ventilation. its the source of air and typically after MAF before throttle body. since this car has not MAF its between the filter and TB.

the best place for a catch can is in between the PCV and intake manifold.

now why do you think you need one? typically the 7A doesnt need one

3rd gen runs on MAP only, there is no MAF. so open dump of BOF wont hurt anything.

put a fuel gauge on the rail to see if its a fuel issue.

i would also question the Blitz ECU, can you get ahold of a stock 3rd gen ECU? it might be flooding which is why it stalls. what injectors are you running.

if I remember correctly, the water temp sensor was backwards polarity to the 7A and 5S/3S in other words when one is open, the other is closed. and the computer gets confused.

not sure how the C160 is different, maybe the linkage on the other side? maybe the gearing, LSD?
