Since you can't search for st in the search box and I've looked everywhere else. What combination of parts do you need to have a/c with a 3sge swap in an st? I know you can use the GT compressor with a 3s and I also know that the GT and ST compressors have different part numbers. I'm also wondering which lines you would use. Has anyone done this?

Yeah, I'm hoping it will last a bit longer, especially the bearings. I'm going to most likely put a 3rd gen 3sge in it.

thats awesome, nuts to what everyone says about the 7afe becoming an oil burner.

It burns a little on start up. That's it though, prob just valve stem seals.

BACK FROM THE DEAD!

So I sold the car to a friend, bought a bunch of other cars and ended up buying the car back. New compression test at 282k, 210-200-210-212 Still going strong, except the transmission has about had it at this point. A/C is still ice cold though.

Fidanza Flywheel $150+shipping
Needs new friction surface and will be like new.
CT-26 Unknown Condition $50+shipping
I'm not sure that this turbo is actually bad. I though the turbo was blown because of the large amount of oil I was getting in my intercooler pipes. So I replaced the turbo only to find that the motor was blown and the oil was coming from the pcv. It has a normal amount of shaft play and could be rebuilt or be a cheap core.

My car just recently hit 250K on the original engine. So, I decided it would be fun to see what the compression was.
1>195
2>192
3>192
4>195
Same exact compression results I had at 200k. The thing that impresses me the most is that the motor has been through two 3-2 mis shifts(one of those well over 8k rpm) and a 75 dry shot of nitrous for a couple of bottles. I don't think it will ever die.

I'm trying to get something with more power than that. Don't get me wrong the tc is a nice car but it just seems really boring to me.

Well, the celica is really starting to give me problems and I don't have the time to keep fixing it. So Ive decided to get a newer car. I have 3 cars in mind right now and I'm having trouble deciding which one to get. An S2000, RSX Type S, or 7th gen GTS Celica. All of them in my price range have about the same miles. It will be my daily driver but I don't need a car to haul people around and two seats is not a problem. So basically they're all practical to me.

I can't really think of any other sport compact cars around 13k that were made after 2000 that are any good. Anyone see a car I'm missing? Any opinions on the three that I listed? The only one that I have driven was the GTS and it was pretty nice. I know that the s2k is a good bit different than the two but I just cant make my mind up.

I'm trying to get an idea of what my celica is worth. If I get some good offers I'll let you take it off my hands. It's a 94 ST Hatchback 5SPD.
Miles: 245,000

Engine/Transmission:
Engine runs great. Compression test not long ago was 190 190 190 190. Engine burns/leaks only about 1/2 quart every 3000 miles. The throwout or release bearing is rattling nut does not affect the way the car drives. Clutch was replaced around 40000 miles ago and still feels like new. Timing belt was done about 5000 miles ago. Alternator was replaced maybe 6 months ago.

Interior: Interior is in good condition. Just has a tear in the carpet under the pedals and some indentions in the center arm rest and door panels. Has leather front seats but the back is still cloth. Dash is very clean. The passenger airbag cover is faded a little and the steering wheel is a little rough around the top. Car would come with CD player and all 4 speakers have been recently replaced by pioneer replacements.

Exterior: The body has dings and dents that you would expect on a car this old. The driver side highbeam is busted out. And the passenger rear taillight has a small hole in it. The driver side front fender is dented. And the driver side rear quarter panel has a gash in it really low on the car. The paint is a fact-o-bake job so it is flaking off in some spots and has some runs. It is shiny though. The car has stock GT wheels that have been painted a gunmetal color and the tires have 90% tread left. The front toyota badge fell off but will be replaced before someone buys the car.

Brakes/Suspension: The fronts have brand new slotted rotors and Toyota OEM pads that I just put on there and it stops really well. Rear shoes on the drum brakes were replaced at the same time. The struts were replaced about 30k ago by KYB GR-2s and it sits on stock springs.

Mods: Short Ram Intake and 2 1/4" inch exhaust. Exhaust is very quiet and is just straight pipe with a resonator with no muffler. Catalytic converter has been removed.

If anybody has any ideas on what its worth or if you want to shoot me an offer go ahead. I'm looking to sell fairly soon. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Will have pics of the interior tomorrow.

I deliver pizza and well like they said maintenance costs will rise (brakes, suspension from crap roads and speed tables and lumps, and more oil changes). I drive my car ab 600 miles a week to add to the 240k already on it. Not sure about Papa Johns but most major pizza chains will deliver to the worst ghettos of them all and that is not a comfortable situation. Where I work we won't deliver to any high-risk areas. Although we have on accident before and they were looking at the celica like is was an exotic. As far as hours I get about 35 a week working six days which really blows. Gas is becoming more and more expensive. Basically comes down to if you get tipped well youll come out on top, if you get tipped crappy you might break even.

You're probably gonna have to cut the valve cover gasket inbetween the head and the cover with a razor blade. I had to do the same thing. After I had ab half of it cut it came off.

Well never mind the caliper slide on the passenger side wont budge at all. I've tried soaking it in pb blaster, tried to turn the pin bolt head to free it, broke a piece off of my c-clamp trying to push it in to free it (its stuck somewhere in the middle), and hitting it and its housing with a hammer. Any Ideas on how to get it unstuck. I was thinking ab heating the bracket up to try to get the hole to expand. I don't know where I can just get the bracket besides a junkyard. And well that will just mess up again.

Are the caliper slides moving freely when you had it apart? Are both calipers holding when depressing the petel?

Yeah they are.

Dude, don't just throw parts at it.
Check the wheel cylinders.
It will be obvious if they are bad.
A slight bit of dampness IS ok.
If they are soaked, they are leaking.

How far out did you adjust them?
Ideally they should be adjusted out until you JUST hear the drum rub the shoes, then back off a notch or two.

Did you check/adjust the booster push rod to master cyl clearance?
There should be less than .5mm clearance.

The wheel cylinders are not even damp at all. I also adjusted them exactly the way you described. I havent checked the clearance between the booster push rod to the master cylinder yet. How would you go about doing that? It seems that as soon as you push the pedal down the brakes do start to hit the rotor so I dont know if that would be it. I looked up the part numbers for the GT calipers and ST calipers and they are different. And I think I may have gotten GT calipers when I replaced mine instead of ST calipers. Maybe the GT caliper takes more fluid to move the cylinders in them? I have had this problem after I changed the calipers but just assumed something else was wrong.
