hi guys i just discovered last week that my 3sge gen 3 is pushing the coolant into the over flow bottle. i have in a aluminum radiator less than 2 months old first i change the cap to a toyota gen 1.1. same problem this morning i open the radiator and notice it was half full because i had remove the overflow hose from the bottle so it wasn't able to suck back, start the car let it idle with out the cap i notice whenever i rev it the coolant level rise in the tank, let it idle and would receed. i then allowed it to idle and it rise the coolant level till it was running over, whenever the fan comes on it would work properly.is that headgasket on its way out or fan switch |

Depends on how much "a little oil" is, second hand or cheap turbos will often leak a bit of oil. Another (but unlikely reason if the turbo is bush bearing) is there is too much oil pressure and its pushing out past the seal. i got a thing to reduce the oil pressure and it is okay now do u think i should remove the pcv that run from the toppit cover to intake manifold? can i put a oil catch can there |

The gasket part numbers are different 3s-ge to 3s-gte, and probably different port spacing. this exactly what i am saying but can the ge be had in metal because mine is in asbestos and it is showing signs of blowing Needles: the turbine flange on the right is a CT26/ST185 flange, the downpipe on the left doesn't look like it fits any Celica or MR2 at all. |

I know that the factory 3SGTE exhaust manifold gasket is a 3 layer metal gasket. It should have the same stud pattern as the 3SGE. part: 17173-88581 That one needles is holding is the turbo exhaust gasket, and looks like a standard pressed/stamped one out of generic gasket paper. part: 17173-88581 that one cannot work the gen 3 3sge has bigger ports and the lug pattern is different. That part is for a Gen3 3SGTE (ST205) which is the same lug pattern as the 3SGE? Like this: You're after an exhaust manifold gasket right? Goes between manifold and head? Why is everyone showing turbo flanges?

yes the manifold and head but i am tellin you that my port holes are wider and in a differ in position where it meets the head.i bougth a cast iron and it could not fit and bougth one of tubular rev 3mani and it had the same port holes like thecast iron, had to cut the plate off the 3sge mani curve the pipes and weld it back on. i think i have a spare asbestos gasket lying around i will try taking aic to show what it looks like |

you say you only get a couple of psi, what revs do you get those psi? low or high. If low its possible your exhaust is just too restrictive to allow enough flow to give reasnable boost. If high its possible your wastegate flap isnt closing properly and just letting exhaust gas bypassthe turbine wheel. Sorry for the for the delay was away for sometime i get the the boost at very high rpm in the five grand region.have a external wastegate no i do not have a 3s gte map i have a stock 3sge map the car revs to 7s without a problem |
