I hope this is in the right topic, i think it has to do with performance... anyway, when racing, how do you do the best launch??? do you burn the tires fgisrt so they stick better? i heard some of you guys in the auto e-brake and gas it hahaha, and for the manual guys like me, do you jsut drop the clutch? or ease it down? jsut crious on the ebst way to do a takeoff from a dead stop in our cars.. |

Not sure it would sound too good man. The purpose of a blow off is to release sompressed air the turbo it trying to push into the throttlebody when its closed (when you shift) so the air dosent come back down and damage the turbo itself. Im assuming you would have to have a lot of airflow coming in to the throttlebody to even consider something like this.. I dont know if jsut a standard CAI would provide adaquate airflow man.. ![]() |

The rattling might be your CAI Ive noticed some rattling after installing my CAI so I just fabricated a piece to bolt it down to the car to. The CAI has a tendency to bump or vibrate against things when you rev, check that out man.. ![]() |

1/4 MILE TIMES IS WHAT WINS A RACE DOSENT MATTER IF ITS ON THE STREET OR NOT! NOT 0-60 ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN COULD TELL YOU THAT! btw speedtoe put words into my mouth i never said anything about driver skill at all and no i didnt contradict myself im jsut saying that 1.4 mile time takes more skill because inorder to get a good 1.4 mile time you need a good 0-60 time as well.. |

I dont wanan get into an arguement here but what about awd? is that skill? And what if your racing a RWD car that has better off the line traction than front? Is he a better driver than you? No of course not The thing most ppl argue about when they talk cars is 0-60 time.. well im sorry to say but you dont win a race by having the ebst 0-60 its the best 1/4 mile that wins.. I dont care much how fast my car gets to 60 because hardly any races jsut stop at 60, especially on the street. Point is, to me 1/4 mile time is more imporant overall, especially in a street race.. and if you notice in my quote i said NOTHING about driver skill. I personally think that to get a good 1.4 mile time you need a good 0-60 time anyway, so you have to have as much, if not more skill to run a good 1/4 mile |

Burien Toyota makes a turbo you might check that out I heard it gets 1.4 mile times down to the 14's! I have also looked at toher faster cars (gsx, mr-2) and I jsut love my celica too much, plus insurance is much higher on faster cars.. Personally I'm jsut gonna stick with my gorgeous 69gt for about 6 or 7 more years till I can afford a 1998 Blk/Blk Single Turbo Targa Top 6spd Supra!!! And open up a can of JAPANESE WHOOP ASS ![]() |
