That's the kind of comment I was waiting for...
As I said here in italy everything cost a lot more than other countries: the gauges from Autometer that I found on ebaay cost me about 30$ each, but here I don't find it for less than 200!! So if the original clutch is 300euros, and the one on ebay is near 140, I was thinking it was good.
Well, for sure I don't think that can be a Stage-3 clutch, but problably better than OEM.
If I need to change something on the car I always try to replace it with something better than OEM.
Anyway I'm not going to buy a 700$ clutch, I think it's too expensive for the use I need to do, and also because that's a baad period for my pockets!

Hi guys, my clutch is goin to say "bye" to me very soon, so i'm searching something to replace it.
I searched into ebay (cause in italy everything cost triple ---I looooove this coutry mad.gif ---, so for me is more convenient to buy from usa) but all the clutch i find have these applications:

1988 - 1993 Toyota Celica GT4
1990 - 1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo

I have a 1997 st205, so i think that it could be adapt cause mr2 has the same engine, but i don't know if mr2's clucth is good for st205.
Maybe that's a stupid question, but i have no knowledge on that, and i found nothing useful on other forums.
Can you guys give me some info?
which clutch do you advice? I should do some power-increasing job next year, so i don't want to use the OEM one.
...and another question: what's the difference between stage 1, 2 and 3?

Hello everyone! My ST205 got some engine problems, the turbo starts working hard only over 4000 rpm and it doesn't work like he did until one year ago. I only have changed the air filter and the exhaust, but this job has been done about two years ago, so this can't be the cause of the problem.
I find a dyno to test the car, but I think that if I could find the result of a dyno test made with an original ST205 I could find even more precisely where is the problem. I find nothing on the web, because I find only some dyno results of celica with over 300hp.....and it's not my case (not for now...) biggrin.gif
Anyone of you got some stuff that could help me?

I would like to have some tips too....
I buy a Sparco Fighter seat, with specific base and rails, but there is a "little" problems: the seats base came about 10cm taller of the original, so I cannot sit in the car!! the seat can be normally installed, but I'm 196cm so I'd need a hole on the roof to drive smile.gif
How can I put my ass lower? is it possible to adapt the OEM mount to this sport seat? it is not adjustable, very similar to racing ones

yes bumpers are completley different but fenders are exactly same. and this front lip sits on fenders.

....so if I buy the lip for the GT version I can install it also on gt-4 with no problem!

C'mon bojangles, we're close to the goal, maybe one day we'll made it!!! biggrin.gif

I'm back! I come today to another toyota dealer...he says that sideskirts are still available, but not the front lip because is an accessory and not an OEM part, so it's not yet available.
he says that the gt-four bumper is approx the same dimensions of the other models non-turbo, so i should be good to intall it....but the first dealer I ask this thing says that the 2 bumpers are completely different!!

what the f**k should I do now?? ....maybe ask to another dealer!!

...another question, probably more easy: the second dealer tell me that gt-four comes with OEM sideskirts installed, but why mines has not them? I don't think that someone remove them, also because there are no holes or similar on the car

Hi guys, i'm searching for a front spoiler for the bumper that looks like the original toyota one
my toyota dealer says that this part and siderskirts too are available for celica but not for gtfour....someone can tell me why?? mad.gif
i like so much these parts, because are not "extreme" and do not change the original look of gtfour, but at the same time they makes it lower...

did anyone has these stuff?
is it possible to adapt the items that are not for gtfour?
thanks!

an example

the model is the N1+silencer, completely inox steel, what do you think?

...but as usually there is the "other side of the medal"....the shipping!
the entire system cost a little more than 500 euro, but the ship it's over 700 because comes from japan. mad.gif

I already tried to contact hks and apexi but the costs are near 800 or 900 euro for the complete system...and plus i should pay the shipping....that's a bit expensive.... frown.gif

no, there in italy there is nothing good for celica...well, for real there is something, but are brands that i don't trust so much.
i have not decided yet, but at that point i think that an universal cat back and a good adaption work is the better compromise. i found the kakimoto system, as the Turbotone's one, it is composed by muffler plus complete pipe with no exhaust, all stainless, right for st205. now i have to contact them and have some infos....and prices!
that's the last shot i have at the moment.
what do you think, an universal hks should be good...?

I'm not exactly sure why people always insist on getting a cat back from big name brands like HKS, Greddy, Apexi, Tanabe, ect.......... They cost a lot of money. For a lot cheaper, you can buy a universal muffler from those same companies. Then you take it to a GOOD shop to do the rest of the pipping.

And if you're worried about it making to much noise, silencer is the best you can do. But one things I hate is seeing someone get out of their car, put on the silencer, get out the car, take off the silencer, ect..... This goes on forever. I dont see the point in waisting arround $80.00 on a silencer and having to get out of the car all the time to put in on or take it off.

excuse me, but who talk about in/out of the car for put on/take off silencer? confused.gif for sure english is not my mother language but i never read this thing in this thread...

about the universal muffler, i already think about mount that (infact i wrote it in my first post), and exactly for search other brands over the big names i came here!

personally i don't like your solution, if i like the sound of the muffler i will never be (morally) able to "close" it with a system like that...

I try to go around for three days with no kat and no muffler, the sound is too good, i love it, but it's very loud and even if I like the police do not like this....and there is no way to explain them why the car is so loud and then leave them without problems....I think that the excuse "oh! the muffler is broken? really? I was thinking this sound was normal!!" could not be useful... smile.gif

...I hope of been clear
I'm trying to not modify again this original section cause i think it's not a great thing to cut it again!

FOR MAGIC: how much do you spent totally for the exhaust? i've ask a dealer of hks and he tolds me that the Silent Hipower cost 950euro (dollars) just for the cat back...can you tell me if with this part is included also a specific connection to the OEM system or not? confused.gif
..have you got some photos?

FOR SHID: I already have a hand-made cat back, and i've posted a pair of photos (hope the link is good), but as you can see now is not the best of beauty! it sounds good, but I want something better. biggrin.gif

FOR CARSON: i got the 3SGTE

I'm surprised of the prices for specific exhaust cause for the actual catback I paid about 160euro!

I'm searching for an exhaust to install on my st205....i'm searching around the net for about 3 days but i've not decided yet what choose.
I wrote some mail to hks, blitz and others, but they ask me 900+ $ for a specific rear silencer....sincerely I would like to spend a bit less!
If I buy an universal silencer (for example hks) could it be valid anyway? Of course I'd like to have a complete specific exhaust but if just the silencer is 900$ I don't want to think how much I should spend for a complete exh!

Can you give me some help? brands, comments, advices....anything!
thanx

I have a gt-four, bought it about a month ago, from a pair of weeks i started to "feel it", and i discover not nice things...
During acceleration, if the gas is half opened, the engine gives not a "linear" response, it sims as "stopping" for less than a second, i can't explain very well, sims as it "jumping"(very very quitely!)...
If a normal progressive acceleration is this

-------------------------------------

my car acceleration is like this

------"----------"-----"-----------

the rpm goes up with some gap......
what's the problem???
i asked to a mechanic (specialized in Lancia Delta....but at least he knows about turbos!) and he says that regulating the turbo pressure and the petrol pressure the problem should be resolved.

Anyone have this problem?

[QUOTE=kuya1284,Jan 14, 2004 - 5:21 PM]Here's a shot of my ST205 Apex'i intake system in case you were wondering what it looked like:

hei kuya, in your photo i see also a wastegate valve.... is it correct the name? cause i read anywhere "wastegate", "blow-off valve", "pop-off"....but its always the same part or are completely different???
I would like also to change mine....well, the valve that "spit" out turbo pressure when not needed!! i'm going crazy any time I ear it..... ahhhh... redface.gif ...its better than a dream!!

it seems that apex'i is one of the best, uh?
when i change the filter, the "old" air box is removed completely or maybe the low section can be used to take air from the bottom part of the car?
Do you know BMC's CDA? it is an air box that provide cold air to the engine, and create more air pressure...i see some graphs that prove that it makes the engine gain up to about 15 hp to a turbo engine....it makes me undecided.... confused.gif
Take this url http://www.ompusa.com/aaron.htm and tell me what do you think...

and thanx for the photos!
if anyone had other photos i'm very interested! wink.gif

Hi everyone! I'm new on the site and i like it so much!
I buy an ST205 about one month ago, and I'm searching for an air intake kit to install on my car. I look for kits by Injen and Aem, I think should be great brands (or I'm wrong?? confused.gif ) but there are not specific kits for gt-four. thumbsdown.gif
I'm searching for something that take cold air into the engine, cause in my opinion the air filter is not in an optimal position, and a simple direct filter take the hot take of the engine! mad.gif
How could I resolve this problem? can you suggest me some very good kits?
Here in italy there are not many brands that makes complete kits, the only one that is serious is BMC, the CDA filter could be a good choice?
THANX!
