Sooo I guess I'm finally just gonna end swapping the S54 into the '93. I just have no idea which shifter cables I should use. And I wonder if the mechanical speed sensor will even work. Oh well who needs a speedo anyways. |

Was driving and it kept poping outta gear when their was no load on it like when the syncros start to go bad. Now it'll stay in 5th but it free revs and makes a nice grinding noise. Its exactly like what reverse does when you don't engage it all the way. Lost 5th gear today...nice. Fuu... Time to swap the tranny from you old 6th into the 5th gen... Ugh I really hope I don't have to. Then I have to drop 2 transmissions and to keep things tidy, remount 2 transmissions. So much work. Hahaha. This would be a good time to throw in the 5th gear from a Camry, all the efficiency. If I wouldn't have bought a pit bike last week I would consider rebuilding the whole trans and putting in a longer 5th gear but that's money atm I don't have. |

I love the 5th gens, but unless you get a '93 don't think cause its a GT you get all the standard stuff like power doors/windows and disk brakes in the rear. Oh and the cup holder situation? Its just as ****ty. But if that's the 5th gen your looking at then your good cause it is a '93 and its black |

Havent gotten around pulling the 1MZ out yet. Might just wait till my buddy gets back down from Jersey so I can have an extra pair of hands. Spending today trying to convince my mom that trading her old Expedition that's been sitting her yard forever and a year for a nice riding lawnmower that has just been rebuilt is well worth it for her. Id value the lawnmower at 500. Id give no more then 800 for the Expedition. Its nasty, beat up, and hasn't ran right in the better part of a decade. Women. |

Trade you a 1MZ? It only has 320k on the clock, thats practically brand new! Seriously, if I was going 5SFTE this would be the way right here. $2k shipped to your house for a complete bolt on, no guess work, don't even need to hardly use your brain turbo kit. All you kiddies looking for some safe boost this is your best bet! GLWS |

It may happen. I'd love to. Money is tight with me though so until I get a better paying job itd take a while to get to that point cause I wouldn't do a stock build. |

Bought a 1MZ for $150 today. Guy that has my old Celcia bought a '94 Camry LE for $240 and I'm giving him $150 for basically anything I need. Gonna pull it out soon, start rebuilding it since it has 320k on it, and then go from there. Might sell it, might boost it, might boost it and sell it, or maybe swap it, or maybe boost it and swap it...who knows. I just got it cause it was cheap, and I've been itching to do a complete overhaul to a Toyota motor so it all worked out. |

Got home at 7pm today (yes I was out from 11pm last night till 7pm today... ) in a great mood and finished up my valve cover gasket. Went ahead and painted cause my manifold was already painted because racecar. I also changed my plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Now I really need to adjust my idle speed. Some how it managed to move up even higher now from 1k - 1.5k to 1.5k - 2k |

I feel like a complete idiot. I made the mistake of being in a rush so I could hurry up and go out with some friends when putting my valve cover back on...the gasket slipped out of the valve cover and I didn't notice (nor did I even check...fail). Torque it down, watch it bead. Looks good right? Wait about 30, call the friends tell them I'll see them soon. Start her up. Air gushing out like crazy. So of course at this point I'm cussing like a sailor. Take the cover off once again to see the gasket not in its correct place...so now their coming to get me and tmrw I get to start all over again. Let this be a good example of why you don't rush yourself to go off and some tail cause then it has to come to you...wait that doesn't sound too bad does it? Yea don't listen to me. |

The one in my '93 likes to seize up from time to time. I just take the rubber end of my screwdriver and beat down on it a couple times and it'll turn right over. Its funny cause I have a spare starter laying in the garage I could replace it with. |

So after a fun day out on the lake I decided Id do the valve cover gasket tonight real fast since it was leaking. Not too much sludge considering the car sat for a good while and the previous owner didn't take care of it at all. Of course when taking the valve cover off, the dry rotted PCV decides to snap. So I call up the parts store to see if I could go pick one up tonight but sadly it wont be here until 2:30 PM tmrw. So now I'm just taking my sweet time cleaning everything up Whoever put the last gasket on made a mess with rtv and its everywhere on the matting surface, its been a real PITA trying to get it all off. Tmrw I'll get my PCV, put it on, finish cleaning the matting surfaces, replace the valve cover and gasket, and do plugs and wire! Wewww In good news, I just had a home made coffee cake muffin and it was awesome |

4th Gen F Body = Trailer trash version. MKIII Supra = Also you don't have to convert the A/C on the MKIII. You're supposed to if the system leaks. R-12 runs a lot cooler so I'd keep it just for that. |

I haven't looked too deep into it cause it was winter and I had other stuff to fix but then the other day my knob for the Cool/Heat seized and is stuck on Hot. The whole Climate Control center is already messed up though so I need to pick up one from the junk yard. Half the bulbs don't work and its kinda warped. I think the old owner punched the **** out of it. Lol |

Most Toyotas use the same sized one. I got mine off of a Rav4 we have laying around for junk. All the switch does is ground the wire so it knows when its opened or closed. |

Yea I actually did that this morning but there was a good bit of oil at the bottom of the tube. I was already gonna replace my valve cover gasket and spark tube gaskets next week so I might as well check the threads and reseal the sparkplug tubes while I'm at it. |

One of my spark plug boots keeps popping off as soon as you crank the car. Yay for the first time of having to fix something on my 5GC. |

I really wish I had the money to fix my 6th gen; I know the guy would give it back to me if I did. I really freaking miss it. I love my 5GC to death, but I have so many memories in my 6GC. Id be willing to give up my '93 for an alltrac, but Id spend the money to get the '95 back and convert into a GT4 then buy one. |
