Hey guys, cleaning out the garage. I've got a black 94/95 front bumper (badge was removed to put on the new bumper). Nothing structurally wrong with it. It's got insect and road debris damage from it's years in colorado, but it's in good shape. Sand it, prime it and paint it and it'll be great. Also I've got a clutch master and clutch slave. I replaced both years ago when I was trouble shooting a clutch problem, but they both turned out to be fine. They've been sitting for a few years, so you might need to order a seals kit to refurb them, but otherwise they probably work fine. Master has reservoir attached to it. Like the post says, they're free, just pay for the shipping and they're yours. I'm in Fairfield, CA (between Sacramento and the SF bay) if there are any locals out there...

Congrats, and welcome to the club! I was in the first "All T-6 Class" at Vance when they retired the T-37 in 06. You're going to love that airplane. It's the only airplane I'd leave the C-17 to go fly again! You're lucky you're not going to have to fly that T-34. No ejection seat? No thank you... You're in for an awesome year!

Bump for interior pics. Just post on here if you want to see anything specific (engine bay, door panels, trunk, hatch cover, etc.) I'm not trying to hide anything with the pics I'm taking. I keep everything in good condition on this car. As far as price, Blue Book for this car is 3 grand for private party, but I strongly encourage anyone who's interested to come look at the car and make an offer. I've babied this car for a decade, so I'm not letting it go for nothing, but I'll be reasonable. I hope someone can enjoy it as is for a daily driver, or convert it to the street menace that I always wanted it to be.

Yeah, I don't see why it wouldn't make it. I drove it to and from Alabama on a road trip a few years back and two years ago I drove it to and from Oklahoma twice. When it comes to this car, if I hear so much as a pebble stuck in the tire treads, I find out what's making the sound and fix it asap.

Thanks for all the interest. The car has been sold to a new member from San Leandro.

I believe you turn the key to "on" then "off" then "on" and maybe "off" one more time? It's something like that. It might even be three times.

I'm confused. They did this same crap with Windows 2K and ME all at the same time. If I remember right, 2K was based on NT and ME was based on Win 95/98. What's the big selling point differentiating these two? So far I'm guessing it's just a better version of Vista? So far, no real problems with Vista here, but to run it on my desktop I upgraded to a quad core and I'm using 4 gigs of RAM since Vista is such a memory hog. Office 07? They can keep that crap...

I've got a 2005 tC as well as my 94 GT. The tC is very poorly built in comparison. I've got about 25 K on my tC and it rattles more than my 1994 Celica with 280,000 miles on it. Very sad to see the quality go down. The motor also seems raspy and doesn't seem to run as smooth as the 5SFE. Handling wise, I feel like I'm sitting up higher. Overall, I'd rather drive my Celica any day. Plus the d@mn air conditioning reeks in the tC!

Okay, just to clear this one up, this is not a FS thread. I just thought I'd post a pic of my car before it's gone. Thanks for the clarification. Usually when people hear you're selling a car, someone ALWAYS asks where it is...

Well, for the past two years I've gotten my 3SGTE fix from my '93 MR-2 Turbo. It's been an awesome car. Check out the picture...

I needed a family sedan instead...

edited: deleted location of vehicle so people won't mistake this for an FS thread. Enjoy the pic!

The Grudge. Watch that with a friend and then call them up randomly to do that f'ed voice over the phone. Preferably after midnight and when they are alone. Don't forget to block your caller ID...

plus when you brake hard, the fluid sloshes around in the reservoir, so it will give you a low reading if your level is borderline, turning on the light.

If by ready, you mean the wiring harness is done, and you plan on using your gt tranny, I would guess that it would take 2 weeks, maybe three, depending on how busy the shop is that you use, and how much other customization is required (exhaust, intercooler, etc). I will say this: it kind of sucks to use a shop that isn't close to you, because you won't be able to go back there easily for small problems should they arise. Something to consider.

If you're willing to take it down to San Jose, CA, there is a good shop here for that sort of thing. It's called Aggressive Performance, and they specialize in MR2s and Celicas. He has done work on my MR2 Turbo and my Celica, and he's done plenty of engine swaps. 408-278-1837

Isn't it same year or newer, AND the same car?
No. Same year or newer and it's legal regardless of the model.

Must be USDM motor and the 3SGTE that is in the MR2 will work just fine. I'm sure there will be modifications (as with any 3S swap) but as far as motor mounts go, it will drop right in since you've got the 5sfe in your car right now (they share the same mounts). If you research engine swaps on here, you'll find all the info you could need. It won't be cheap, and it won't be easy, so if you're going to do it, make sure you find a reputable mechanic who knows their way around this process.

I've got one, but probably too much to ship it. Have you called a local body shop to see if they can source one for you that is refurbished? That's how I got my new one. It was cheaper than paying the labor to strip the old one (rock chips) primer it and repaint it. The new one showed up primered, so all they had to do was paint it.

Who'd you buy it from? These guys will pre-paint it and they do them for the coupe and hatchback. Pretty cheap, too.

If you're lucky enough to find a mechanic who knows their way through the smog ref process, you can put a "95 MR2" 3SGTE in your car and it would be legal. Motor swaps in California have to be from the same year or newer, which makes the 94-95 celica the only model that can legally have a 3s in this state. After the swap is complete, the vehicle is inspected and signed off, assuming everything is good. It is probably the costliest way to swap a motor.

I know, bringing back an old post, but I thought I'd put the fix in here to help future searchers. I tried replacing the master and slave cylinders and I still had the same problem. Ultimately I ended up having the clutch replaced, including the flywheel, and now it runs and shifts like a dream again. No more jamming when trying to go into first and the shudder is completely gone.

QUOTE(m0dd3d1 @ Jan 10, 2008 - 3:42 AM)

Ok so I'm hearing some crazy noises from all over now, it used to be limited to the front but now it's the back as well. I'm probably just gonna go to a shop and have them look at it (or Mr. T) but I did buy some suspension from someone on here so should I just replace it first and see if the noise continues? Also, does anyone know if I do that if I'll screw with the ABS sensors? I really can't afford $200/piece sensors...again. Thanks! Looks like I'll be driving the xB for a bit. smile.gif

We need more specifics to help you, but here's a link to my thread on noisy suspension. I'm going to bump it to the top for this season, since the cold wet weather seems to bring it out in everyone's ride that has the issue.
