Although I respect the above posts, I believe that this whole situation is based on whether the right to die was a real wish of Terry rather than whether the right to die is a good or bad thing.

As such, my view is that this situation is not an euthanasia issue, but rather, one of parents' mistrust and the husband's real motives.

Because one thing is for sure, if they both love Terry, they would both want to follow her wishes.

Hi Commer,

I wish you all the best in your job application. Although I am no expert in job applications here are my own suggestions.

1. Smile.
2. Be clean and tidy (clean face, hands and tidy suit and tie).

Good luck. I am sure you do well if you are your online self.

Either way, it was good.

jgreening's friend has a smile on his face for winning a 2nd gen JDM 3sgte 6gc convertible.

jgreening has a smile on his face knowing that he babied his car instead of trying to wreck it for just a race before work.

I am happy for both.

Happy New Year and safe driving,

Some may say "not to be an ass, but that was just stupid".

"Does anyone feel like most the posts here are just horrible? Granted, it's always very active and helpful in the performence sections. But all you see in off topic, is the most useless crap in the world. Sober posts, pic of dog/girlfriend/xmas tree/car/prostate exam. Jesus, it numb the mind. And in general, all you see is, "I felt the need to let everyone know i painted my calipers!" This post is followed by about 30 other posts saying, "dope!" "That's awesome!" "M00t!!!" "How do i paint my calipers?"

Can we bump the maturity level please? Ok I'm done ranting

"I've suspected for some time now that my fiance has been having an affair. The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. She started going out 'with the girls' a lot recently although when I ask which girls it is always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them". I always look out for her taxi coming home but she always walks down the drive although I can hear a car setting off. As if she has got out of the car round the corner. Why? Is it not a taxi? I once picked up her cell phone just to see what time it was and she went beserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my fiance. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my car which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of. It was while I was crouched down behind my car that I noticed rust around my rear wheel well.

Should I take it into a body repair shop or should I buy some stuff from the local auto shop and try to repair it myself?"

lol, thanks for the advice guys. But my girl isn't cheatin on me, and I don't have wheel well rust. Altho i do have a lil bit by my antenna. I thought you fellowes would get a kick outta that"

All people are happy with pointless threads some time in their lives.

My pointless 2 cents.

"Thank you for keeping it clean Coomer. Some of us actually appreciate the language filter (I'm at work at a respectable job). I was over at Celica.net and there was just a filth of profanity. I also see what you mean by keeping the forums down to not seem intimidating. I had just gone there for the first time today... and was intimidated. There is so many. So thanks for running a more user friendly site."

Andason - Nov 29, 2004

"if you want me to keep posting lame ass posts like "Wow, great idea. Your girlfriends civic is soooo sweet! " then what is the point. id rather not be lied to. there is NO such thing as utopia. no one is perfect and no community will ever be 100% clean, whether it continues with me or not. someone will continue where i left off. you remember matthew right?"

A boy who has loved this site has finally grown but forgotten his roots, which unfortunately is part of growing up.

My 2 cents.

Batman722,

I hope you well in the proceedings as I am sure this is a difficult time for you. Although I can't help you at all, I do however want to add my small 2 cent comment.

From my understanding of the situation, I was wondering if you knew why she wants your Celica?

Maybe she wants the Celica not because she wants to drive it but she knows you would feel very bad at having to sell something she knows you love. In other words, it is her way of "payback" during this divorce proceedings.

This is because I fail to see why she wants the Celica when she can have the Jetta (assuming they are of the similar value). It would seem to be that it is not a money question relating to the Celica.

If this is the case, there may be a way to discuss with her (via her attorneys) to keep the Celica with you.

Obviously, the above is coming from a person who does not know you or your situation or all the facts. The above can be only one of many conclusions. For all I know, she may be a Celica nut like the rest of us.

You are the best judge of the situation.

Good luck.

Hi everyone,

First, I must give my apologies for the following long post. This is my second post and I hope I do not clutter too much of the cyber space.

Reliability of the Sixth Generation Toyota Celica (6GC)

This topic is very interesting. There seems to be various misconceptions on the reliability of the 6GC when comparing it against various levels, including car, make and locality.

One must really focus on the individual car (even for a new car) to assess its reliability. Numerous factors can affect the reliability including:

* Company (why the car was build, its investment on the model, the focus on electricals and engine, materials, the actual build process, etc)
* Person (how the car was driven, its history on maintenance and repair, etc)

Obviously, trying to obtain the above information is almost impossible if one does not own the car. In fact, I understand that it might sound very ironic and really defeats the purpose of buying a car when one must own a car before one can actually know its reliability.

Therefore, while being unable to know its true reliability, to a certain extent, there are some propositions which one can use to ascertain a potential reliability of a car.

Upon research (albeit only over the Internet) for the past year, I believe I would make the following very general propositions (with all other things being equal) based on the previous views of the members of this topic:

1. The 6GC is one of the most reliable cars made by Toyota.
2. Toyota and Honda are the companies which consistently make the most reliable cars (which require the less maintenance or daily care). Mercedes Benz and BMW reliability is current declining against Toyota and Honda.
3. Mercedes Benz and BMW has engine reliability comparable to Toyota and Honda although their respective maintenance and daily care must be higher than Toyota and Honda to maintain its reliability. Their electricals are definitely not as reliable as the electricals of Toyota and Honda.
4. Imports are generally more reliable than "local" cars.

Obviously, those views are my thoughts but I believe they are correct. I hope you would come to the same conclusions after research as well.

Thanks for reading,
TheReader

First, I would like to just congratuations on this site. I admire the civilised community that inhabits a small corner of the cyberworld. Keep up the good work everyone!

Although I do not own a 6th generation Celica, I nevertheless browse these forums from time to time.

This topic, which was raised by a friendly poster, struck a cord with me and therefore I have decided to (i) get registered and (ii) post for the first time.

I hope you all don't mind me taking up a little bit of virtual space.

Back to this topic - I recommend commencing with legal proceedings however small. However, before you do this, you should obtain some evidence which I am sure it is easy to get as he seems to a serial liar.

Once you have all the evidence (photographs, tapes, etc), you should start writing letters to the company (if you can, find out the legal name of that entity) (i) confronting him of the problem and (ii) ask him to remedy the situation by a set date, informing him if no remedial action has been taken, you will take this claim to the small claims tribunal.

Such a letter (of which you keep a copy) proves to the adjudicator that you are acting reasonable which provides a better chance of success for you.

There should be a variety of places as someone suggested (e.g. small claims court) which should help you.

I appreciate that your parents are scared of your insurance but I cannot see how this repair is related to your insurance. Even if your insurance finds out you have done a swap, all they can do is cancel your insurance contract. It doesn't affect the damage that the repair shop company actually has done to your car. In other words, your insurance should not have any effect on you going to court.

Obviously, I agree that you should talk to your dad's friend but in the end, I really do think you should take some sort of proceedings against.

It would be a shame to let such a repair shop get away with it as I am sure they have got away with doing this for such a long time.

The Reader.
