I took my celi in for its MOT last weekend and it failed on the fact the ABS doesn't work. As it turns out the not very nice man (who I'd quite like to punch right now) has disconnected the light from the dash so it doesn't show up.

I need to know what the most likely problems are. It locks all four wheels under heavy braking and all the sensors and relays seem to be working and getting power. My mate is doing the repairs at his garage for me but hasn't worked on a 6th gen before

I really need help with this as I can't drive until I get it sorted

QUOTE (Galcobar @ Sep 4, 2011 - 5:45 AM) *
The only real issue with having the O2 sensor where it is pictured on the aftermarket header is that it will only read issues present in the one cylinder. The stock O2 sensor is placed in the lower pipe in order to read the exhaust flow from all cylinders.

The whole point of the sensor is to give the ECU the information it needs to maintain the engine in good running condition. Using the sensor in just one runner of a manifold means you're not giving it 75% of the information it should receive.

So it would be better to plug that hole and fix the o2 sensor to the downpipe?

And this is the one on the car

The new one has the boss for the lambda sensor and the old one doesn't however there is another sensor on the downpipe further down

can I just swap the sensor locations?

Bought a new manifold (header) from the States but it has the hole for the O2 sensor and they weren't put on UK cars rolleyes.gif so I need a sensor or a bung.

Anyone got and old one as its not going to be connected to anything anyway

The jet itself isnt blocked i've traced the lines back to the engine bay and there is no water in the lines

The pump works fine and so does the switch I can hear the pump working when I flick the switch

Like I said the last guy who owned her didnt look after her very well so its probably just clogged water lines

Wasn't sure where exactly to put this thread so it's going here. tongue.gif

My rear washer jet isn't working I've traced it back to the engine bay but I don't know how to get to the washer bottle.

I know it's a noob question but it is my first car I've had to work on. biggrin.gif

I do know where the bottle is but do I have to get at it from below?

When you say you spliced the harness onto the loom did you have to solder or was it just connector blocks?

An aftermarket audio harness should use your original plugs and adapt them to the standard ISO connection.

If you had to cut and splice it may be you did it wrong.

I'm a professional audio fitter and I see cut & splice everyday that people have done wrong because a connection is dodgy or the splice to the wrong wire

Ok so I picked up a front and rear and they both fit great but i havent got the bolts the connect the front to the bodywork. what size are they? I've tried M8s and they're too small and M10s seem to big but that could be the wrong thread.

Removed the celica badge from the back and started removing the old peeling paint so it can be repainted and stuck to the mirror

Never mind I'd been a spoon one of the wires on the audio harness actually said "power Antenna" on it so I cut it and no antenna. Its the Black/Red on the 96 loom for anyone else who wants to know

Hi guys

which wire powers the antenna to go up and down. I'm installing a switch so it only goes up when im listening to the radio not just ipod, cd etc

Any ideas on the best way to do it? Obviously it has to be at the stereo end not the back by the aerial. I don't want to swap it or make it stay down all the time
